Always a great experience and lots of fun to be had here, for the young and the old. Took the kids today was there first time and they loved it. My partner and I come her too when it’s our date night 🥰

Great place to take the family. Still a bit expensive to go every week, but I take my granddaughter quite often, and she loves it. They sell hot food and drinks. No need to book ahead unless there's a special event. They charge extra to book online and don't take bookings in advance.

Always lots beginners on Sundays and a good time to go get some balancing skills. Cafe on site and very friendly and helpful staff. Good fun. Ample parking. 16 bucks without skates and 12 with.

I started ice skating here about 5 years ago, and it has stuck with me almost the entire time. I learnt the basics here and then my amazing father and me taught me everything else. I don't know what my life would be like if water didn't freeze. Thank you :)

We had a great time this morning - not sure if me or the kids had more fun! The two hour session was a great length of time. The Staff were helpful and professional. The session was busy but not overcrowded. We'll be back.

Very good indoor facility, with food and hot or cold drinks available, skates for hire and lots going on The South Island Championships were happening while we were there. Plenty of seating, but take a cushion. The seats were quite cool! Caters for all levels of ability... I have no ability on skates, but like watching. Their Zamboni keeps the ice in great condition. Just remember to wear warm clothing and a warm hat.

Brought a group of teens for my daughter's birthday - postponed from lockdown. Session was great and the Level 2 system worked well with easy to follow guidelines. Having 2 afternoon sessions of 1.5 hours was just long enough. They ran out of time to go to the café and air hockey but that's teen sense of time for you. Highly recommended for a fun couple of hours.

Far too many people on the ice on "90's night" There needs to be a cap and if there is one you need to lower it or book half sessions because from being a spectator and watching how many people got bolwed over by others was ridiculous. Having a good playlist on regular nights and not just these special deal nights wouldn't go a miss.

first semester of lessons we often arrived late coming from airport area to Opawa. 8 year olds classes started at 8.15am. I would send her in while I organise Miss3. thinking she had the clip skates and would jump on the ice. Miss 3 wasn't with me one morning, I walked in to discover her teacher comes off the ice to help put her skates on! Very kind. I wasn't aware this big inconvenience was happening but they were doing this for her anyway. Great teachers. She is in 2nd round of lessons now and purchased skates 2 weeks ago. The assistant was super patient and honest.He didn't try to upsell the most expensive versions of anything and helped us make sense of beginners essentials and maintenance :)

Five stars for a fun night and great atmosphere, the kids had a blast!! Five stars even for the cafe, because of the super nice lady her served us and was so helpful. My only disappointment was paying $6.90 for a cheese toastie, I was not asked what bread I liked, was given brown bread and to top it off not one scrap of butter went near the bread, not inside, not on top 😭 Also no salt on the chips. These are the basics of cheese toastie’s and hot chips people!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Shout out to the skate hire who loaned one of our kids a warm sweater, legend 👍😊

Plenty of easy off street parking. Big cue to start with but moved quickly. Skate hire staff very helpful. Unfortunately the loud speaker difficult to hear. It was had for my kids to work out what was happening for the games-this was their first time. Plenty of quality skating time though. The cafe was very accommodating and quick and it was nice to sit and have a hot chocolate after the session. Overall a great first impression. My children are asking to go back soon.

This is an awesome skating spot. And they have music and dancing g comps throughout the session. A fantastic place to go for a bit of afternoon fun. And the kids would have a blast too. School holidays can be very busy so would recommend going during term time. And probably have one adult per child as getting them to remain upright can be a mission. Staff are friendly

Bit of a blast from the past: unchanged since the '90's. Worth spending the extra money for a boot upgrade, but very crowded. You're bound to be run into at least twice.

A great experience! I love to ice skate and this is where I first learnt to do it! My dad took me when I was little and ever since then I’ve kept going back. It’s a very cold place tho (as u might expect from an ice rink) and it’s well worth bringing a warm layer and thick socks. It’s $15 pp without skates to enter for 2 hours (session times vary)

Great fun with a group. I love going around the ice in my wheelchair. Though if it hasn't been zambonied it can be hard to push on. The café is nice too. Service can be a little slow but very friendly.

OMG this is far bigger than our local ice rinks. It looked so fun & ice looked in pretty good condition. People were actually doing tricks, at our rink it's just kids trying not to fall over. Was impressed & want to come back for a skate next time.

This place is really good for the young teens that are too old for kiddie things but still too young to be going out properly. the hold disco nights where they have a dj that plays songs. I love being able to go here, it is not as busy nowadays as I remember as a kid but still great
