Reviews of Apollo Projects Stadium
For a temporary Stadium that's been up for 10 years, because of the delayed replacement plans, it does a darn good job. As the home for Crusaders Super Rugby & Canterbury provincial team, a great atmosphere at home games is always assured, with a solid, diverse fan base.
Staff are all so nice & community focused, well organised to deliver a stand out attendance for solo or family attendance. Plenty of food & drink choices, complemented with trucks offer everything you could hope for adults & children alike.
Honestly you can't beat the atmosphere of a home game at the Crusaders - the only thing that would make this better would be a covered stadium (which is coming!!!).
This is a very well run venue, with easy access to your seats, amenities and has a small comfy feel. Sure you're a bit exposed if you're on the East or West stands, but since moving the TAKTF to under cover, the experience has improved measurably.
Keep it up, we'll keep coming back!!!
Great rugby always better watch it live at the Stadium. Enjoy a true canterberians must do rugby experience. Hope you will try this too.
Easy to get your seat and bearing around. The seats are quite small, everyone is shoulder to shoulder.
You are only allowed to bring an empty water bottle into the stadium, but there are water stations nearby the entrance where you can fill up your bottle.
It has a fantastic atmosphere during events and also has "red zones" during crusader home games. The stadium has good wheelchair access seats. Its just a shame that the whole stadium is not under cover with at least 1/3 of the seats open to all of the elements so cant wait for the permanent stadium and hoping it will be undercover!!
Awesome wee stadium hosting the best rugby team in the country!
Nice set up, for what it is. Even as a temp stadium it still has the necessary amenities and the guys working there do a good job. Not much to do outside of watching the game though.
Awesome team deserves awesome stadium..
Loved the atmosphere!
Snacks are overpriced but hey it's expected..
Love Rugby and visited to watch my granddaughter play for Canterbury. Great game. Stadium obviously temporary so looking forward to attending in New stadium
Great game to watch live. Would have been even better if Canterbury had a win!
Great atmosphere, efficient staff running the events
Lots of fun memories here specially when watching the Crusaders trash every team they play against during each game!!!!
Love it because we get to see our favourite teams play!!
Stadium is temporary and is ok. Christchurch is due a new stadium by 2022?
The cruisaders beat the Brumbies here. Anything less than 5 stars would be un-christchurchian
We have been Crusaders fans for a long time and enjoy going to the rugby matches at this stadium. We feel close to the players sitting in this stadium and what a great atmosphere with great half time entertainment. We will always be back to watch our great team.
Great place to go plenty of parking and seating.
A lot of people bag the stadium but that’s what we got the Council mucking around still love the place where I get to watch my favourite teams play rugby
Nice stadium, in a great location. The facilities in general are very good and good services also.
The place is huge, well staffed and have a variety of foods and drinks offered. Aside from the rain and cold winds, this playing field is humongous and can cater world renowned rugby players all over New Zealand.
I suggest you to wear waterproof jackets or clothes to prevent yourself to not enjoy the game.
Just an average stadium experience, not the fault of the stadium it's as good as it can be - but that's not ideal.
And then to be stung a public holiday surcharge is pure revenue gathering.
What an amazing stadium. The staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time.
Needs a roof. Dunedin has a far better stadium. Pillars often obstruct view. Try not to sit in front of the speakers. The catch a ball competition that runs during the game is a nice distraction. Well done hellers.
This stadium is a great stand in considering how busy it became all of a sudden. It has plenty of toilets and drink stands. View is great from most places. It's a shame it's not covered, but it was never intended as the main stadium. Looking forward to watching another game here.
Great place great facilities for a Rugby Match especially when the Crusaders win
Loved the place. It'll be good when we get a more permanent home for our crusaders .🏈
It's a tired, temporary stadium with prefab toilets and scaffolding seats. The stadium is way past its use by date, can be cold and uncomfortable, especially in the winter months as there is hardly any shelter. The Crusaders game day staff do a good job trying to keep the entertainment coming but can't hide the fact that this is not an international quality stadium.
Great stadium bit on the small side when it comes to stadiums but easy to get around and find seats. Plenty of toilets, drink fountains & food.
Good sized stadium for the size of the city. Easy and fast to get food or get to the toilets. Toilets are usually really clean. Food and drink available in a good system that handles the numbers well. Atmosphere is great when there is a good crowd and the announcers and special extras around the ground for watching the game make most events memorable.
Nice and interment but not having permanent stands etc means there is an inevitability that it will all soon be gone.
I actually have grown accustomed to this place now. It doesn't feel like it's corporate owned or getting investment from Chinese somewhere. It feels very local and almost grass routes. The layout is pretty good. My only issue is some of the security, shouting at me to get in the correct line (which wasn't labelled) at the bar. Love the incentive though for returning your plastic cups
The stadium isn't our beloved Lancaster Park / Jade Stadium where we're used to watching our Crusaders but they have to play somewhere and we had Primo seats so I rated it 10/10
Great little stadium, good views of the on-field action from all round the ground. Food & beverage service has always been quick and painless for me too. (Christchurch does need a bigger stadium though...)
The home of Canterbury rugby.A great day in the sun watching exciting rugby.Life is Good!
Seating close to playing field, great view of game, easy access & parking.
Allowed on field after game to meet players.
Good view of the field from most seats in the stadium. Doesn't have a roof so think about what the weather is like do you need raincoats, sun hats & sunscreen. Take a jacket cause the wind is usually cold. Recommend sitting on a blanket stops your butt from freezing in winter or sticking to the seat in summer!
Great atmosphere and cheap rugby tickets with really friendly staff.
Great stadium that's close to the game. Reasonably priced tickets for great seating
Saw Phil Collins here, the concert was awesome!!!
Food was ok, only one bar we found in the complex served cider or zero alcohol beer (we went to 4 or 5) and the stand seats were very uncomfortable. So the rating for the stadium is a meh but still well worth it for the awesome show.
Crusaders 2019.. Quarter Finals. Putting on a clinic for the South African Bulls
10x🏆.. here we come
Watched my first Super Rugby match here with my family. Had an amazing time. Love the seats, food and the restrooms were clean as well and very close and convenient! Awesome!
Good venue close to the action, lacks a bit in good food and rubbish bins but other then that you cannot complain
Not the best, but certainly not the worst stadium. All three gates and stand entrances are very accessible and the two big stands are covered which is great for winter months. Plenty of parking on the surrounding streets. Stands at either end can be expanded so extra capacity can be catered for. Christchurch will get a proper, world class stadium one day soon, but for now, this isn't a bad option .
Helpful staff as we had mobility parking. Any queries we had were answered quickly and help was offered. A wo derful experience.
I went there to watch the Crusaders vs Southern Kings. The atmosphere is different from watching from a TV.
I do recommend to watch the game live, at least once in your life.... I guarantee you won't regret it. However, you need to wear more to keep warm and bring a rain coat as this is not a covered stadium (unlike Dunedin).
Best venue for outdoor team sports on a international scale can also host concerts
Great atmosphere. Nice and tidy.
Based upon seat F190 in the South Stand for Crusaders v Blues ANZAC Day 2021. Crusaders won 29-6.
Really enjoyable night out!! Watching the Warriors beat the Manly Sea Eagle's. Definitely will be back for another Warriors game!! Great atmosphere, crowd really involved!! 😎🍻
The entertainment (sport) is always great, but the stadium is only temporary, here's to a new stadium which will hopefully mean we are out of the wind and rain (it was incredibly cold in the top row of the stand behind the posts) Always a great night though and dancing to the music provided after tries Nd in breaks helped keep us warm.
Very nice and looked after.
Seating on the flat was so squashed in despite lots of space available so we ended up standing and dancing the night away. Beautiful 28 degree evening for an outdoor concert 🎤🎵🎶🎸🎷🥁🎹
Well organized parking for a "full house" event . Excellent lighting .An all -- round pleasant experience (roomy seating , music not deafening , draught and bottled beer available).
Up till last weekend I had not been to a stadium to see any games prior to the quake. Now I have been twice in the last couple of week. Brilliant place and wonderful staff.
Whilst Christchurch is in desperate need of a new stadium, the current stadium is okay. Viewing for spectators is pretty good but the cold wind can really rip in there. Parking round the stadium is also pretty poor. vBase provides plenty of food outlets in the corners of the stadium although as with all stadium food it’s expensive.
Wrap up warm, it gets cold and you don't get much room in the seats. Make sure if you buy a platinum seat, you don't get an obstructed view by a post, or it makes the extra money spent pointless.
Great place for rugby
Can't expect too much from a temporary stadium. Pity about the earthquake, but it's about time a more permanent rugby stadium is built for Christchurch. Very drafty, cold and the seating too cramped and uncomfortable.
This stadium is all CHCH needs. Rugby games are well organised and it caters well for kids
Perfect afternoon for the rugby.
Good crowds but seats are to close together feels like sitting on top of the person next to you the prices of drinks and food could come down a bit other than that good night
A decent temporary stadium, sold out for the AB's game I attended. 15,000 people crammed into a small stadium can be very slow moving before and after games. We got to our seats which were easy to navigate to and we reached our seats just in time for the National Anthems and Haka.
MASSIVE parking space which isn't too far from the actual stadium, and a nice temperature on the night. I was dressed for the occasion with my AB's scarf, shirt and a jacket.
- AB's vs SA, September 2016.
41-13 AB's victory ;)
I had a great night supporting the All Blacks. The stadium is small, but it has a good location and atmosphere. The toilets were clean and the service was very good
Absolutely amazing show, stunning venue but perhaps you could provide beverages that aren't full of toxins that make people sic; ie Brancott Estate Wine with preservative 220.
Great venue to attend concerts, watch rugby at. Home of Canterbury Crusaders & Canterbury Rugby
Went to "The Boss" concert. I dont think the stadium coped well with over 30,000 people the queue for food and drinks on arrival was around 200 metres long and they were really struggling to keep cooking quickly enought to supply the demand. In terms of hot food you could choose from chips chips or chips or maybe a hotdog if you could snatch one as it came from the kitchen. On the upside they did have enough toilets and the seating was good. If you go to an event with a lesser number of people I am sure the stadium will be just fine.
Great atmosphere but can be very cold.
Always a good time because the Crusaders have won all the times I've been
Awesome stadium, even better watch the Crusaders beat the Chiefs.
For a temporary stadium, this has a great atmosphere
Crusaders are great and the pre-game show is worth seeing, excellent fan atmosphere but the scaffold stadium isnt ideal and it's frustrating that the new stadium is still so far away from breaking ground and construction.
Ok venue for Phil Collins. Beautiful evening made it a great night. If it had been raining would rather have been at Forsyth Barr in Dunedin!!!! Leaving the venue was a mission.
Great game, great atmosphere, Christchurch doesn't need a bigger stadium ,they cant fill the one they've got . Just upgrade it . Shame the kiwis beat GBLions
Last night's concert was fantastic. But as usual the wait for taxis was ridiculous. The organizers need to think in advance.
Here for the Phil Collins concert. We'll organised staff about for directions and the food and beverage queue moved quickly. Usual prices for stadium food and drink.
Great atmosphere and plenty food and drink choices.
Brilliant venue to watch the worlds best provincial rugby union team play... Crusaders. Can't wait until we get a new (and roofed) stadium.
A pretty good professional sports ground with reasonable close to action viewing.
Christchurch needs to seriously consider getting an indoor stadium. Current temporary AMI stadium seems unsafe to withstand another earth quake. Facility is not fit to host a world class event or attract major acts or games to Christchurch.
Small but very close to the action. Refreshment facilities well planned with great food choice. Plenty of toilets.
Exiting when busy a slow though.
You cannot hear or understand any on field announcements. Seats too small and squashed in
A very basic stadium by today's standards. However it is unique as it allows the crowd to be very close to the action.
An experience a long time in the making. First visit impressed except the local team was beaten
Great temporary stadium but seems like it's been up a bit to long and need a bigger one. Lots of food options and line go rather quickly.
Always good to catch a game or other event at the stadium. Only criticism is there is not much cover if it's raining.
Awesome place to watch rugby great people friendly staff always great rugby
Tonight was extra special. Crusaders you are an extraordinary team. Thank you for making tonight's game at AMI an awesome night to remember.
Good stadium easy to get in and out of stadium but Tiny seats and no room for your legs very hard to move along seat row
Was a sunny day stadium was looking very tidy. Will be good when the new one is built.
Great stadium the crusades did it again 5times champion
Well home to the crusaders but long over due for a proper stadium
Nice little stadium for a great rugby team.
Closer to the action than old Lancaster park but limited covered seating means I check the weather before I buy a ticket
During the season bought a cheese burger there which was under cooked gave me diarrhea by half time !
It's pretty good considering it was put up as a temporary stadium after the earthquakes ruined the original AMI stadium but I'm looking forward to a proper stadium
Well set out. Great organization by staff. Awesome game. Easy to find seating.
Went there for Phil Collins concert. Poorly organized structure for getting in it took 45-mins to get in and only 5-mins to get out through Addington race course.
Loved it cool bananas orangetheory
Venue was great but needed signage for entry points in clearer visibility. Most were not easy to see as behind trees.
Good stadium in Chch, not as famous or central as Lancaster park was but close to everything still! Handy on bus routes, just out of the city! Go the Crusaders!!!
The match and atmosphere were incredible, but most of all, the staff were so helpful despite being so busy. Thanks so much.
Kid behind me smelt like poo, lady beside me was constantly screaming and couldn't find the exit from food stalls. 10/10 would highly recommend.
Great game but jammed in like sardines, some wider seats would help.
Considering the age of this place, and its temporary status, it is an amazing open stadium for live concerts! Recommended!
They confiscated my perfume and said I can just pick it up from the security booth after the rugby game but they could not find it when I asked for it back. The same thing happened to a guy who lost his Starbucks tumbler. Poor safekeeping measures.
Seats could be better, bit for a temporary stadium it's great being so close to the pitch.
A shame really as earthquake has left christchurch with this temporary home was full for lions match but best of luck with rebuiling old stadium or new one but not impressed with these temporay stands
Fantastic stadium to enjoy supporting the mighty Crusaders. Lots going on, on the night. Wonderful staff all around.
Love going to the game Cold beer Grest pie Fabulous view
Great stadium to watch some rugby. But the price for drinks and food is pricy.
Great place to watch sport at. Only problem is too many concrete polls blocking your view of the game sometimes
It was good my 84 yr mum had fun only down side dancer shoving her pom Poms in mums face she was in in blue an gold so I thought that was rude
Clearly a temporary stadium - large supporting beams
It's a temporary stadium.
There's a nice vibe to this wee stadium, well worth a visit on game day
Great game. Need a roof on stadium would make an even better atmosphere
Expected insanity but security was perfect, people friendly, beers great and game super.
Great stadium, though on the small side. Needs upgrading in size if it wants to handle future events.
Huge game, sellout crowd and the home team, the Crusaders won.
Amazing the lengths these guys go to to get the fans behind the team. Catering for kids seems top notch!
Amazing atmosphere at rugby games.
Enjoyed the game and atmosphere great place to take the family
Ideal sports stadium. Perfect place to support the Crusaders!
Only 4 stars because the Highlanders lost 😁. Otherwise it is a good ground.
Awesome place with great access and atmosphere
They really know how to nail hospitality great venue just a shame there's not more seats
Good stadium but needs more cover. No protection from wind or rain in some parts
Fantastic venue where you can get close-up views of players and management
Nice night so the stadium is alright. Not so good if the weather is less. Close to the rugby.
Cold winds but rugby was great. Unfortunately the result was not.
I work at gigs there. I imagine the punters would enjoy it, but avoid them as much as possible.
Stopped in the carpark for a job at Nitro Circus and all the greyhound races got a bit butt hurt that we could overhear them fixing races so was asked to leave
Nice place to watch rugby with the kids in the afternoon games but not winter night freezing and the kids expose to cold weather
Go the mighty crusaders great game lots of excitement. Great outing for kids, just remember a jacket and umbrella
Good stadium, enjoyed the Blues vs Crusaders. Nice to have enough restrooms too
The sound of generators, the smell of diesal and the timelessness of scaffolding. A symbol of hope and a rose between the thorns of war torn Christchurch.
What a great game of SupeRugby! Crusaders vs Highlanders June 2017, dropgoal in extra time wins the game for the Crusaders!
Great concert and staff really good & helpful but facility is average.
Great atmosphere for the Crusaders. Didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house
Back after 4yrs ,lively place for rugby .
Don't let the greedy rugby union get their hands on this stadium!
Keep it in the Rugby League family.
Good park to watch rugby or league.
The food was expensive. $10 for a pie and cold chips. Staff great.
Love watching Rugby here! You're so close to the action! Love watching the mighty Crusaders and Canterbury and the All Blacks here !
They've done a good job with the temp stands. Loud with everyone stamping their feet, good atmosphere
Was an awesome night and the grounds staff were really friendly.
We were there on a lovely summer evening. It would not be so good if the weather turned.
Still enjoyed it. Thought there was going to be fish. Unfortunately my casual glance was a misreading
Great view of the field. Seats are a little small and close together though.
Brilliant venue especially when the Crusaders win the 2018 super rugby final
Great place but never enough toilets for the ladies when a concert is on.
Great local sports stadium with good facilities. Great place to watch rugby.
Crusaders won third year in a row!
Awesome day, staff were fantastic
Perfect size and location to enjoy rugby games. 😊. Good parking options.
Good place cant wait for a new covered stadium.
Good events staff, very friendly and helpful, stands very basic and temporary.
Just watched nitro what a great show and good stadium .good parking
I loved this stadium so clean wide and amazing
Nice enough stadium, just wish there was more options for parking.
Everything is pretty standard, nothing is exceptionally good or bad. Just a
stock standard ok stadium.
Great venue - pity no good organisational skills when leaving
good functional stadium. can't wait for a new covered one though
Good set up. Well managed. Please reduce alcohol prices.
Great atmosphere to watch rugby at. Love their burgers
Amazing Phil Collins concert one of the best concerts I've seen there
Packed stadium but we got in and out easily. Sufficient toilets and food outlets.
large, clean stadium. food and drink options. vegan options
Love the the place great match day experience
Great Atmosphere
Great evening 1st time I've been won't be the last
Great place to see the Hurricanes beat the Crusaders
A great venue but need to sort out the exit out of the carpark
Excellent for walking past while taking a short cut, no complaints from me.
Only bad thing was the score line.
The stadium has a great personal atmosphere.
Not the greatest, but it's all we've got. Had many great nights at the rugby.
Geat stadium but small. Great staff and security
Had the best time with my boy at nitrous circus..YOU GOT THIS...
Great place to watch rugby. Easy to get to hospitality facilities.
Seats too small and too close togethet.Too slow getting people out after a concert.
Always an enjoyable stadium to watch the game at.
Nice small temp stadium but no crowd atmosphere
It's OK considering it was built as a temporary stadium to last 5 to 7 years and that time is up. NEW STADIUM PLEASE
It's all we have until new one is built, whenever that will be.
Our one and only stadium in chch fantastic atmosphere
Great place, but seats are too close together!
Amazing experience. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice and clean
Great venue, well organised event by Vbase.
Tiny hard seats. Really crammed in.
went to see a Phil Collins concert here... a good venue
Awesome venue! Great to be so close to the action!
Good medium sized stadium. Good facilities and staff
It's a cold cold place to watch footy in the winter so rug up and take more layers than you'd expect to need.
Smallish size, but nice and neat with easy access from the station
Best place to watch the Crusaders win...
Great friendly staff and a nice easy in and out flow
Nice venue friendly and efficient service
Electric atmosphere, great amenities, friendly, welcoming staff.
Good venue, just very pricey for the food and beverages
Place was great, directions by one of the vbase staff were a little misleading.
Great game, seats close to the action
Great memories but it is showing that it was built as a temporary stadium
It was good. There was a streaker at the game which was interesting
Was an awesome spot and good over head coverage
great venue with real good atmosphere
Only made burgers
But it looks great
Great atmosphere despite a smaller crowd.
Love League in Christchurch. Great crowd and even better game.
Great stadium.
Went and saw nitro circus, had a great time
Loved watching the locals train and play...
Amazing stadium with great infrastructure despite relocation
S seats close to sideline. Great atmosphere.
Great little stadium... Parking can be a pain.
Good seating, amazing grounds, and the food is ok
Still meant to be a temporary stadium so you may be seated on scaffolding
No parking on the night. Seating too close together & uncomfortable.
Nice. Enjoyed Phil Collins concert here
Really enjoy attending rugby matches here
Easy to find seats and waste big dollars on chips and drink
Great fun there to watch a game
It was good
Great food. Great result as usual
All blacks amazing tonight 10 august 2018
