J. P.Just had a great weekend with my son and his fellow Invercargill motorbike racing enthusiasts at the historic Ruapuna Motorsport Park (opened 1946), Christchurch, New Zealand. While my sons weekend was a mixed bag of highs and lows, the large field of participants from all over New Zealand were grateful for the team who got the event across the line in this COVID environment, and the opportunity to compete in a sport they're very committed and passionate about.
R. T.Been going to Ruapuna since I was 7 years old. It holds special memories for me and so many others. Thanks Mike Pero for your big support for the track and meetings.

J. M.Great classic race meeting called the Wigram revival. Especially good racing in the vintage pre 1960 class.

P. G.Always a great buzz watching the Litre bikes roar around the circuit. And for motorcyclists wanting some valuable tips on riding skills, from novice to experienced, Dan Ornsby runs the ACC subsidised Ride Forever courses, bronze only costs $20!!! Great instructors, highly recommend.
D. M.Was good times there but they do need eftpos or advertise they don't have any a bit more as several people had to leave and go get out cash.
D. S.Watching the racing.. very slow between races.. Slow vehicle recovery and terrible lunch time "display" 4 ordinary cars driving round and round slowly !!

i. _.oh yes this place was an adrenalin rush. so glad I got to drive a v8 for 10 laps this track is way better than barbagello raceway. I wish I could race properly there
B. G.Im often there for Motorbike events. The facilities are excellent and the track is awesome. Loads of room for spectators on foot and you can even drive your car to a spectator point and watch the racing in comfort 😀

C. F.If it's cold it will be very cold. If it's hot it will be very hot. There is no shelter, not even a small tree. Food is often hotdogs and chips but has been improving over the last two years.
That said, a great place to view motorsport with full circuit views from anywhere.

C. G.Another great outing at the Scope Classic. This is a wonderful array of racing cars ranging from vintage to current. It's an annual must see for motor racing enthusiasts at the beginning of February each year.
K. W.I love motor racing, and this is one of the closet to Christchurch. Friendly people in the pits, just a great local track, with a licensed bar, heaps of food trucks and roaring thunder!
