D. W.We did a little scavenger hunt there, and it was a nice little evening there. Not too many trees (unless you count the little woods on the edges but unusable for a picnic and such) but they were playing fields so to be expected
A. H.I had no idea that community members and groups use Porritt Stadium for exercise and training. I observed hurdles, runners, walkers, soccer training, sprints trainging, physio/massage sports therapy. And just follow the little path around to another field and into a hidden passage beside a creek trickling with water. Its was very peaceful.
A.Soft surface running track open to the public during daylight hours. Loads of different groups use it as well - check the website. Lanes 1 & 2 closed for casual use. Lane 3 has some wear on one corner (as at 4 Sep 2020), but overall quite good. Not too exposed to wind etc. Toilets available. Haven't checked out showers etc.

R. M.Great place to run! nice variety of surfaces, 400m track, cross country course and some paved paths around the vicinity. I love that the athletic track is available for free public use. Just watch for roaming dogs when running on the grassed areas out the back and lock up your valuables or keep them in eye sight.

T. S.Nice and quiet stay for three nights there are open toilets beneath the stadium plenty of rubbish bins though prefer that you take your rubbish with you

S. “. Z.The only freedom camping spot so far, for resting up for 3 days at a time, in self contained campers legally. Is nice and secluded, must keep area clean and tidy. During school days, sports events are on and parking can get pretty tight, though can enjoy the events.

D. M.Porritt park is a great place to stay while in Hamilton. It's just down the Rd from our daughter's so nice and handy. We have stayed here a few times with lots of other travellers. Have always felt safe. A definite stop for weary when passing through. Sadly no views of anything much
K. M.Great facility for the community. Easier access to the stands would be helpful as the stairs are very steep. Great amount of shade trees to sit under on the grounds around the track.

Same stadium, same running track except now instead of the hard smooth surface it's now the soft rubbery style of surface which is spike friendly

A. L.A large arena with lots of capabilities for different athletic sports. Including (I may miss some) a large track, discuss enclosure, shot put area, a grand stand, a long jump pit, a high jump mat and hurdles. Theirs plenty of shade for spectators and the steep bowl shape of the grass embankment allows spectators to see.

A. S.Great area with lots of space to wait in. It has great facilities and the toilets seem to be cleaned regularly. porritt stadium is a great place to host athletic events.
C. W.Haven’t been to any sports stadium for running. Exhausted. Toilets need cleaning and at least better no urine smell.

L.First time visiting the stadium, for Colgate Games 2019. Good facilities. Both in the stadium and the surrounding fields.
K.My school has their athletics here. We had it start of 2019 and the heat was so unbearable. With a massive school, there was no place to sit at that wasn't on fire. Still rate it 4/5.

F.(Translated) Perfect overnight parking for self contained. It is not very well signposted, the places are not demarcated but there is space. Have a good stopover. There are even public toilets under the stands.

Parking idéal pour une nuit pour self contained. Ce n'est pas très bien signalé, les places ne sont pas délimitées mais il y a de l'espace. Bonne escale. Il y a même des toilettes publiques sous les gradins.
