An absolute blast for dirt biking, irrespective of skill level. I had a fantastic time right from the time I signed up in the office and was put to ease by Mandy with the sign up and instructions. Then met James out on the learner track and he made sure that all my gear was worn right and a quick overview of the bike I was hiring to ride for the day. A very well kept facility with great support staff to help you out when needed. Now I am on the look out for a dirt bike of my own and will be back at Thundercross regularly starting next season.

Great place to take the kids to learn to ride. Mandy runs a tight ship and its always a great day out. The kids track is good for beginners. Would love to see an intermediate track specifically for the younger riders in future. The current intermediate track can be a bit intimidating especially if you have more advanced riders on it during the busy weekends. You can find rental gear and a few basic spares for the bikes at the main house. There is also a waterblaster to clean the mud off after riding.

Can't really fault this experience! Had an absolute blast and can't wait to go back. - Hired gear was all very well cleaned and practically odor free, which for the kind or sport it is was a nice unexpected surprise. - Bikes were well maintained and spotless, even with a few years under their belt they felt brand new. - Even though I had ridden dirt bikes for years in my child hood the tuition classes were invaluable and had my back on my feet far quicker than I could have on my own - Highly recommended. - The tracks were well advertised so we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves in to. The learner track was easy enough that we could get use to things again but also challenging as we picked up the pace.

Fantastic all round. Easy to find, friendly welcome, a very professional sign in and safety induction. Loads of parking. Great tracks. We timed it perfectly with a bit of rain in the morning to keep the dust down then overcast to keep the sun away and the tracks in an ideal condition. No charge for girls, so my daughter rode for free. Can’t believe I’ve never tried until now, if you haven’t been, give it a go!

My son and I hired a 300 Kawasaki each for the day and loved it. The B track and the Motocross gave us plenty of challenge. The bikes, gear and place were all clean and very high quality unlike other places we've used in NZ. Mandy and CJ were very friendly, helpful and professional. The booking process was excellent with fast responses, lots of helpful info and flexibility. We highly recommend it, even with the four hour trip it took us to get there!

My daughter loves the kids track. She enjoyed it so much. 💕 And the Thundercross crew are very friendly and approachable. And probably go back again next time. And it’s free for kids and women need to have a gears helmet and boots. 😊

I rode down from Auckland on my rally bike and although the 1.5hr journey (each way) on a thumper seems lengthy and tiring, it was well worth it! I had an absolute blast and (Covid aside) I asked myself why I had waited 2 years since my previous visit?! The Thundercross team are friendly, passionate and take no shortcuts when it comes to this great establishment! It's very evident that customer satisfaction and safety are their primary concerns. Thanks again for running a tight ship!

Awesome day out with Thundercross, we run our team day with James and Mandy almost yearly now, and have a blast whatever the weather, they basically look after us 12 odd adult children for the whole day and do a bloody good job as well!! We travel a long way to ride at this farm. It's perfect for beginners, intermediate or advanced riders. We love how well organized everything is and there is gear to hire if you need it.

Awesome place with great couple organising the activities. At 64 with no experience of dirt biking and limited street bike skills - James got me going within the first hour. I must say some the 5 year ols were doing better than me but the day improved my road skills and I enjoyed the day thoroughly. My husband often visits Thundercross and invited us (our daughter and myself) to join. We ended up hiring a bike for my daughter and myself. James was incredibly patient with my nervous daughter and taught her everything she needed to know to ride a dirt bike with gears. My daughter showed me what she was taught and for the rest of the day, you could not keep us off the track. Even the gear we rented was near-new and of great quality, we also had chest protectors a helmet and everything we needed for the day. This is not only a great place for riders, but there are lovely areas where you can sit and enjoy the day with beautiful views. We took a small BBQ, had lunch and relaxed between rides. The bathrooms are also in good condition compared to what I've seen at these outdoor places. Gosh, I just cannot explain in words what an amazing day we had with family and friends. Mandy is great with people, she is very helpful and we are genuinely grateful for an amazing day out.

Awesome place, went with a group of 7 guys for a stag do. Most of us had not ridden a bike before, James was a great teacher and managed to get us all going! Mandy was also very helpful with the booking process and welcoming the group on the day. Great course, with different skill levels. Highly recommend!

Mandy gave us a warm greeting at the house on what was a wet cold day. She invited us in and when she realised it was my sons first time she offered some lessons even though we hadn't booked these in which are normally essential. She took us through the safety video, helped us pay for the lessons using their online booking and got us setup with plenty of safety gear which was really well priced. James wasnt very complimentary of my sons budget Thumpstar we purchased, which cracked me up. Ah well you have to start somewhere. Maybe a klx110 for the next bike. James spent a lot of time with my son in the rain teaching him the basics and even rode his bike back to get smaller boots and help tune our cheap Charlie bike. I'm sure we got a lot more training time than the hour so thank you James. My son was riding confidently once finished and we spent another good few hours blasting around the learner's track. My son and I had a great time. Looking forward to exploring further the vast array of other tracks at the farm.

Best dirt bike experience ever! Tried a few businesses in the past in Rotorua and Waikato (they were a bit unprofessional with no proper structure with no focus on fundamentals) and they pailed in comparison to the day we had at Thundercross. We had a very warm welcome from Mandy and sign in was a breeze while she did a safety induction and gave us coffee and treats. We then had James who was super friendly and helpful as our tutor for a few hrs for some of the novices in the group and his instruction was easy to follow. Most of the groups had packed up for the day and our group pretty much had the tracks to ourselves by late arvo which was awesome. We ended the day with a brewski courtesy of Ceejay. Thank you for your hospitality and professionalism we had heaps of fun but felt safe and looked after at the same time. We will be back! :)

Awesome place. A variety of tracks to choose from depending on your experience level. A bit of a drive out, but worth it!. Tracks are well kept and there are definitely a few sections that test your skill level. Will definitely be heading back when I get back into riding again. Cheers

Great venue and awesome people. Access is good and we took a 7.5 meter long trailer with 3 bikes and a quad. Highly recommend for all levels of riding.

This place is GOLD! we got there late in the afternoon but still had a blast on the learners track. While we get/got a bit of stick (all in good fun) for having Pit Bikes, we were welcomed in warmly and professionally. It's okay we get it everywhere we go where there are real dirt bikers! The lady of the land & her daughter were just lovely and looked after us well during sign in, explaining everything and showing us where to go. Gave safety brief too which is awesome. The learners track was tops. Our son who's learning (hence we have Pit Bikes) did really well on this, its a real mild track with a few easy challenges, great for kids and adults alike that are just trying to stay up!. Looking forward to heading back as soon as can, next time we'll take a picnic lunch and some chairs, probably hire a bike next time myself, see if I am ready for buying one & getting back into it after so many years. A choice place when we got there, there were dirt bikers for miles, guys & girls chilling under trees, and they were really friendly too and helped us find which way we were going on the roads. A great atmosphere all round. Thanks heaps, and we will see you again. You guys have a real gem, we have a small lifestyle block, but boy your property just blew us away! and what an idea!, we are jealous!! crikey! never seen anything like it, awesome.

My partner and myself both hired bikes and gear. Mandy and James made us feel welcome from the start. Belinda had never ridden a motor bike before, so was in for an experience. James was able to teach Belinda the skills that were required to ride on a gravel farm race to the learners track while sharing his experiences which helped greatly. I'm proud of what Belinda achieved with James's help, as I can remember what it was like when I was a beginner. We both spent the first half of the day on the Learner track having a good time. I myself hadn't ridden off road for over 30yrs and had a lesson on cornering, then onto a tour of the Intermediate track - 8km loop. We both had a fantastic experience and would recommend Thunder cross Valley Dirt Park.

Friendly staff. Pretty muddy roads so bear in mind the weather and what kind of vehicle you take. The learner's track is pretty big and daunting for an absolute beginner, so probably don't come here if you're a complete newbie with no experience, unless you're into that sort of adrenaline stuff. All around an awesome place.

We had an amazing adventure here with our kids. As a group of four adults and three 5 year olds all of whom ride, we camped over night. James and Mandy were so friendly, and accommodating even checking in to see if we needed anything. We all thoroughly enjoyed our selves and it ticked all the boxes of a great time away with tracks for everyone. Can't wait to do it again. Without hesitation I would recommend this to anyone.
