Amazing day. Just did the full day canyoning with my 14 year old daughter. Great challenge with incredible scenery. Cameron our guide was the best! Recommended to anyone with a sense of adventure

Awesome day out with the team. The guides were great, funny but safe at the same time. Have walked to the waterfall many time but another experience abseiling down it..

BEST EXPERIENCE FOR THE FAMILY !!! Kids & I went out with Euan. SO professional. Met at the Sky City hotel, took a 45min bus ride to Piha and commenced the adventure. Euan ran through the ropes of abseiling and safety. We donned out thick wetsuits harness and helmets, headed up a hill for 10min then commenced the canyoning. At all times we all felt very safe warm and excited ! The abseil down the waterfall was AMAZING !!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU VISIT AUCKLAND !!!!

Awesome day abseiling and discovering canyons with Euan and the team! We did the tour just at the beginning of winter- not too cold or scary, just pure fun :) Heads up- could involve squeezing yourself through tight spaces and/or cliff jumps. Well recommended for all of us adrenaline junkies 🤩

My husband and I had an amazing experience doing the full day Piha tour. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. All aspects of the tour were challenging enough for us, and we are definitely extreme sport junkies!

This was a really great day. We had a couple of awesome guides, and a lot of fun. The actual canyoning was around four hours, which was perfect for the day. Euan, our main guide, was excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended if you’re after a bit of outdoor fun in Auckland during the summer.

Shout out to Cam! we had a mint day out abseiling down kite kite waterfalls and climbing through the rock falls on the way down. Cam had good knowledge about the area and was good value through out the trip, highly recommend!!

AWOL is awesome!! I had such a fun time and an authentic New Zealand adventure! It definitely did not feel commercialized or touristy--more like spending a day with family and I felt completely safe the whole time. It is absolutely thrilling to repel down waterfalls, slide through rocks and take in the fantastic views--life dreams fulfilled! I have been in New Zealand for five months and this was absolutely one of my top three favourite days. Don't think twice, just go!

This was an amazing adventure! The instructor news very knowledgeable and funny. I would rate it higher if I could! If we ever come back to New Zealand we are for sure going to do this again! Highly recommend!

WOW! Literally blown away by this experience. I had started researching activities and things to do in Auckland months before our trip to NZ and had made a mental note to try canyoning. What I didn't think about was the difference in seasons (the reverse from back home) and that it would still be winter/early spring when we got to Auckland. When we called to schedule, AWOL was more than happy to take us, but we needed a third person (minimum of three people to make the trip happen). We posted fliers around the hostel and found somebody who was willing to give it a go! Elise (our AMAZING/FEARLESS leader) picked us up and we made our way to Piha. After stopping for some coffee and going through our brief safety training, we headed out on our adventure. As someone who has never repelled, abseiled or been canyoning before, I was a bit nervous, but excited all the same. Important note: No Experience Necessary! We spent the whole day repelling down waterfalls and cliffs. Take in every moment because the area you are in is absolutely breathtaking. I felt as if we were exploring the Amazon (minus all of the things that could kill you) and had it all to ourselves. Make sure you take some photos. Your guide will have a waterproof camera, but they are taking photos of everyone. If you have a GoPro or a way to take some photos yourself, do so to make the most of those memories. Elise was super kind to take some extra photos of our group (the small group size I'm sure helped). Don't think twice - please check it out for a day like no other. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Auckland!
