Was served by the loveliest lady I think her name was Nobu? She had such a radiant personality and was so so lovely, best customer service!! Made my day a little bit brighter :)) much love 💛

Visited the store early evening, Wednesday 09 March, and was unable to find the specific chocolate bar I had been asked to buy. At checkout I mentioned this and the staff member, Sharon, offered to re-check for me as the aisle was immediately opposite the counter. When she returned after failing to find the product (it was out of stock), she apologised. I thanked her for trying and was about to leave when she said she would check for stock at other nearby stores. This she did and gave me the location of three stores, one of which was Northcote where I later purchased four bars. Her effort was totally unsolicited, unexpected but very much appreciated. Great service which, unfortunately, is becoming harder and harder to find.

In store shopping was clean, tidy, and well stocked. Not a fan of the Countdown click and collect. The substitutions aren't great, so don't allow substitutes, but then you need to go in shop anyway to get everything for meals. Although the locker system works well. 4 stars for the in store shopping. Click and collect would be 2 stars.

Service has really gone downhill over the last few years. Constant overcharges on receipt and it takes forever for them to check and when you request a price check they are rude as though the customer is at fault. Also they no longer pack your bags but sigh and fidget as though you are causing the line to slow down.

This great supermarket in Barry's Point Road is in a handy location, just across the road from my Suna Pilates. So I visit often to buy a roast chicken and salads for dinner from their well stocked Deli. 😋 Yes; they have all the usual Goodies along with a good range of temptations, helpful people, a strong Web presence and self service as well as queue checkout. AND, very importantly for me as a 'mature bloke' who is not our family's main shopper, they don't move things around too often or too much. This means I have a reasonable chance of actually finding what I'm looking for; Yay! 😊

Good parking options. Good health food and vegan options. Cafe and pharmacy on site. Click and collect available and located in the underground carpark. Sanitizing options located everywhere.

Medium sized countdown with both under cover and outdoor parking available. Good selection and it looked clean and tidy. Service was friendly

Love the completely contactless self-serve cluck and collect lockers. Don't love limited choice of products and high prices.

Large, Clean, Good lighting inside, oddly many tinned items are dented..i find this oddity every time i visit a Countdown store! ? (Rough handling of goods?) It is a well laid out arrangement, but a little less space at the frozen goods end ..after recent refurbishment. Has a fiddly car park with narrow entry and exits so tight that hearty manoeuvring required...Also cars entering off Barry's Point Road tend to do so too fast so watch out ans use the pedestrian crossing provided

Good supermarket overall with a selection of higher market foods. Its smaller than usual countdowns but still offers most foods needed. Carpark is nice and big but the layout may confuse first time visitors if their not careful. Staff are helpful and work quickly.

What’s happened to Countdown on BArrys Point Rd , seems to have a lot of empty vege slots and a lot of empty shelving , I realise supply can be an issue but I went got plenty of veg , plus the missing items elsewhere . On the plus side their staff are always lovely

Well laid out and usually has everything we need. Can sometimes be out of stock of my beer but my wife thinks that's a good thing

I would just like to say a big thank you to the staff at Countdown Takapuna and the way you have dealt with everything during covid. I was waiting in the car while my partner was in the supermarket and it was close to closing time, it was sad to see them amount of people yelling at staff as they got turned away due to the store closing. You are all doing a wonderful job during such a stressful time and the way you handle everything so respectfully is great.

Lots of parking including covered car park, convenient location and long hours. The supermarket is clean, lots of variety fresh fruit and veges, flowers, baked goodies. Sanitizer, cleaning wipes are available on the entrance and inside the supermarket in multiple locations. It is not the cheapest around but lots of specials daily. Some specialty products also stocked. Easy to navigate. Good for quick shopping, the place is not too crowded. The aisle are neatly stocked and just the right height even for small people. The trolleys are different sizes: small trolley for kids, medium, large.

Great place to shop for certain things

A busy and friendly store that we visited within the last hour. Christmas shoppers were evident, mostly older people (like us) but there was no real crush. There are some good buys, eg. 450 grams Roses choc.'s price $8.90c. Merry Christmas.

Great store, fantastic fresh fruit and vegetable selection. Incredible variety. Great prepared food options in both cold, frozen and deli.

Big, and has heaps of parking. Used to be open 24 hours, but not any more.

Nice and spacious countdown, recently renovated so it’s nice and modern looking. Always has a lot of products in stock with a big range. Can get busy on peak afternoons but they have plenty of checkouts, both manned and self service so the wait is never too long. Lots of staff around to ask for help. They also have lots of fresh flowers for sale and an on-site cafe and pharmacy.

The best countdown I've been to. Shelves are always well stocked and the supermarket is tidy. Produce is fresh and a good selection. Can find everything we need here

The lighting in this Countdown was VERY nice! I'm not sure if it's like that all the time, but when I was there it was a much softer, warmer light instead of the classic white light that supermarkets usually have. The interior just felt more upmarket and quite a lot of the designs of fruit & veggie stands were really nice!

Great location, has both open and under cover carpark. Ample parking space and close to motorway. A store that provides full range of selections. The reason for a missing star is that staff would walk past you and pretens you are not there. There is nothing wrong in saying a quick hello and greeting customers to make us feel welcome.

Typical sort of Countdown experience. Has a decently sized carpark, including an underground carpark and I've never seen it overly full, so you should always be able to get a park. The deli and baking area have great products and haven't been disappointed yet. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetable options right at the front as you walk in. Plenty of self checkouts, but, could probably do with more I hardly ever see many of the checkout tills open.

Had a cigarette in the carpark and I couldn't be more pleased! My date was buying me a red wine and took her sweet time. The range in this countdown is extensive and the staff are more than helpful and very enjoyable!! Would come here to smoke again and recommend others to!!

An older Countdown store that still has the same layout I remember. Good shopping experience even though it is smaller. Good prices, good trolleys and cheerful staff.

This is a great grocery store now, the upgrade is impressive. It's got great deli selections, bakery, fresh food and many good deals areas. I stop here alot more now where as prior to the revamp I wasn't hugely impressed.

Just had an upgrade and loving it. It feels very fresh and clean. This supermarket has an attractive fresh produce area that brings you in to wanting to buy more than you need. A good revamp Countdown

Cheap wine, food is a little expensive here and not much ready to eat selection if you come after 8pm. I have just posted a photo of some mouldy food found here last week, be sure to check the food you purchase to ensure it's fit for consumption.

A great supermarket with a vast array of items - very good shopping experience. Store well located on Barry's Point Road with good onsite parking - the store has an inside Chemist shop in the complex. Well laid out and easy and efficient checkout options - the store would be regarded as iconic in my opinion - sets a tall bar for others to emulate and had been there for years- always with a consistently high standard and great range of items at good prices - have used the store regularly over the past 10 years or more as the only supermarket on the north shore that I go to when visiting Auckland

Clean, Reasonably friendly staff Downside small isles compared to Silverdale ONLY HAS 1 DOUBLE TODDLER TROLLEY IN WHOLE SHOP!! Great if you don't have small children if you do their product placement is a nuisance too

Good selection of organic food. Disappointed no Arnotts Cheese and Marmite crackers. No countdown have had them for over three weeks. Temporary out of stock stated.

Like the new layout and customer service of this store. Friendly, polite and always ready to help. Most convenient location in the centre of Takapuna, ample parking space and they've a nice Cafe and Dvd kiosk as well. Oh yes and medical store and Lotto counter as well.

Stopped in to buy a few groceries after work. Did not realise that there was no Internet access in store so was unable to activate my debit card. Spoke to Priya in customer service area and she was sympathetic to my predicament. She offered to pay for my purchases. i was able to scrape enough cash to pay myself but the fact that she trusted me to return to the store later meant alot to me. This store is my local and i enjoy shopping here. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Big ups to Priya!!!! Thank you......

Always top quality produce, and if you shop around in store, you'll pick up some great bargains. Far better than your mainstream supermarket.

It's a big store with the generic items you'd expect in all countdowns. They close the delicatessen and covered carpark (even when raining heavily) exceptionally early to my dislike. They use to be plagued by slow checkouts in the past but can't say if still like this these days (self checkout my have helped). One of its redeeming factors that it no longer has was when it was a 24 hour store.

I like visiting this Countdown because it's open from 6am till midnight daily and it's reasonably close to the motorway so that I can get off and back on without wasting too much time on the way to work. This store is well stocked, clean, tidy and the staff are friendly.

Nice big and clean supermarket that also has a pharmacy, cafe and lotto all under one roof. Convenient and not usually too crowded. Good parking.

Clean tidy fast service and had some great bargains at the time of my visit. Am not a local so was dropping in as I drove past and was happy with the shop. Not sure of what its like on the daily however customer service was great considering I had a young one who was literally borderline melt down. Thank you

Like it here visit often. Staff are friendly and store is usually clean and well stocked although produce section tends not to be well stocked early morning . My favourite thing about this store are the opening hours, early morning opening time (6am) make it super convenient and handy for early morning / rushed / last minute emergencies.

Well stocked and always quick and friendly at checkout. Prices are a bit high which is why it didn't get 5 starts

Well ..I think the rotisserie chickens should have been cooked by 8.15 am because alot of us are trying to get shopping for lunches and work functions at this time of year. Everything was cold .. but at New World there is a large variety of warm food at this hour .. also cust service very basic. I had too many items and was struggling to hold them ... although I have come to expect a complete lack of user interface with supermarket staff.. it would be a pleasant surprise to have a fore person wandering around just helping customers in general

Good store on the whole, but dont go here after 7pm if you have access issues, because they litter the aisles with boxes for shelf filling most evenings. OSH should take a couple of evening visits and sort them out!

One of the best Countdown stores in north shore. Clean and perfectly organised. Wide aisles which makes shopping a breeze.

Went in to look for green tea icecream. Google lied. Had mint instead. Otherwise it was well organized and easy to navigate usual prices as to be expected but well kept and tidy. Enjoyable experience.

Closest store from my hotel (Byron Hotel) which offers a good diversity of food and products. They usually have great sales on fruits and others items at the same price, even cheaper sometimes, than Pack'n Save.

What a great upgrade! A pleasure to be in the store. The only drawback is prices. I hate PAC and Save but if I spend $30 at PAC and Save I spend $50 at Countdown. I think the only thing that will settle this disproportionate pricing is ALDI entering the NZ market They brought prices down right across Australian food stores; hopefully the same will happen here.

This is a great countdown. Plenty of parking and good variety of food at good prices. Can sometimes be a little hard getting back out onto the main road in rush hour traffic, but overall a great place to shop.

Has one of the best car park facilities underground Andover. Countdown at self is well stocked and OK I guess although I'm disappointed since the upgrade they've removed toilet facilities

Big store, big range, subject to the usual things that Countdown does well, and that Countdown does poorly. Note that alcohol licensing laws limit the times the store can sell beer or wine, you can't purchase after 11pm, for example. This place loses a star because the toilets have been filthy on the three times I've been forced to use them.

Don't normally shop here. Only went as Pak 'n Save closes 10pm. You definitely notice the price, paying the expensive Aussie giant Woolworths prices.

Plenty of fresh produce, good range of healthy products, regular specials. Supermarket always smells fresh. Their international products range is poor.

I always like going to Takapuna countdown it's friendly and I prefer to go where I know, although on occasions I do think it's good to branch out to somewhere new.

Good layout, real easy to find what I need, I never find it hard to get a car park and the under ground car park is very handy over winter, perfect location not far of the motor way, and so close to the mall, Takapuna bars, resturant and the beach plus the onsite pharmacy is a plus and a nice little cafe that makes a good coffee is onsite,

Good grocery with a wide range of quality items, including a good selection of ciders, coffee, and other specialty items. Incredibly friendly and helpful cashiers.

I work just down the road from here and pop by at least a few times a week. The staff here are great and even honoured an incorrect price on a product because they had run out of the flavour that was on special. Love this place.

If you want a great sandwich for $4.75 go here for lunch go straight down to the deli section down the back and they have Chicken and Beef and Pastrami great value for Takapuna

Nice tidy supermarket. Always well stocked, but a bit hit and miss with the checkouts, sometimes there are plenty, sometimes only one is open and there are queues.

Good service. Also customer services lady went to find my phone in an outside trolley, after I went home without it. Really appreciated the kindness.

Countdown takapuna is a refreshing shopping experience. Where people matter and the quality of groceries count. I would recommend to friends and colleagues as a a+ weekly shop location.

I used to come here regularly between 10pm-12MN, or early 6am due to work schedule. Now, they changed their business time so much so I stopped coming, so as with lots of people I know at work.

Great selection! Not my everyday go-to but a good supermarket when I'm in the mood to top up on everything I can't get locally.

This is my favourite Countdown. The whole experience of shopping -including their helpful staff- is amazing.

Lost my mobile phone at countdown 2 hours later I called my mobile and was revived by a lady at countdown. Wow was so impressed thought will never found it again. 5****** if not 7 stars .

Excellent choice of everything, but don't use self-checkout - terminals are extremely sensitive and sent off a bunch of false interruptions (one of the staff members had to stand beside me and intervene 7 times - ridiculous).

A large-ish Countdown supermarket in Takapuna on the shore. It's probably the biggest one in the area, nearest large supermarket would be PAK'nSAV on Wairau Rd.

Put it this way, I live a few minutes walk from Birkenhead and I'd rather drive to Takapuna (past Northcote too).

Click and collect isn't straight forward and the customer service is average

It's no Ponsonby Countdown, which is easily the best in town. But it's not the worst one either.

I love that it's open to 12 midnight, it's super convenient and good staff.

Some nice staff but majority were grumpy & quick to dismiss.
