Great shopping experience here!👍🙂 The "culture" of this work environment is very open and welcoming. The 3 ladies that were "on" (apologies for not obtaining yr names ladies!🙄🙂) were exceptional in their customer service skills. Friendly, polite, attentive and not just lip service when they asked "how was yr day today?". Their responses showed great skill at really listening and catching what(& how) the customer responded. The store itself is clean, compact and quite well stocked so kudos to the (small?) team for maintaining those shelves. 💯👌 Not an easy thing to do in the current state of our economy. Great service should always be acknowledged, so thank you to those 3 ladies. (I'll make sure to get all yr names next time!😉👍)

The staff here are very friendly. Miss Bernie, hope she still works there, has been there since the 1980s. Good atmosphere. Small supermarket so mainly the basics available. Our local supermarket since forever.

An established countdown that's been there ever since I can remember really need to paint the place the entrance from blockhouse bay road is a little bit rubbish everywhere I'd make it on my priority list to clean the place up apart from that it said in a really nice location plenty of car parks and close to cafes it's very handy and convenient and I found the prices seem to be pretty damn good

One of the smaller stores close to where I live. Personally, I prefer shopping in the bigger supermarkets because of the openness. Don't get me wrong, staff are awesome and cheery, the store has everything you need and it is located behind the Blockhouse Bay shopping centre with easy access and lots of parking. Check it out peeps it may just suit you better.

Prefer here to Pak n Save for grocery topup shopping and some great specials to be found. Great friendly staff!

A decent size one stop destination for grocery shopping. You can have all you want. Plenty of car park available as well.

They have good parking area they are following the precautions while in lockdown distancing well marked on floor instructions for customers wear mask if don’t have you can ask for . Inside they are not in huge area but ok can find essentials . They are giving priority to essential workers they can shop before opening hours . Well done thanks to essential works in lockdown.

Suzie is the star operator there. Always friendly, helpful and always going the extra mile for the customers. Give her a raise!

Small countdown, but expected for the suburb being served. Good range of products, a little cramped between aisles and checkouts but again not a great sized store. Staff were especially friendly and give a good impression of the community.

Very close to home and the staff are always helpful. Really ideal for older people who like to walk to do their shopping. If I need anything quickly I can just drive there in a couple of minutes and it is ideal for parking as I need a park close as my left leg is severely damaged and the disability parking is very close to the main door. With COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown and if queuing is necessary you have cover from the weather.

It is a small supermarket and so has the essentials. I’ve shopped there for years and am happy with the range and the staff. Car park is good too

Always do our click and Collects from there, they have a good supply of the elusive catfood

Its not bad.. Prefer new lynn.. A sit down cafe near by.. Alongside sushi bar.. Indian food.. After shopping treat urself.. Go on u deserve it

Nice little store. Doesn't have fresh deli meats. Offers discount to gold card pensioners on Tues.

This is my favorite store. Never extremely busy, friendly staff and a pleasure to shop there.

Countdown blockhouse bay is small in comparison to the others. Caters for all however it maintains a large customer relationship with the pensioners in the area. There are a lot of retired people in the area that enjoy being known by the staff and thats great to see.

It's good little store. It serves a great need in the local community. However it is a small store so don't expect the full range of products.

Generally I don't like this Countdown for a number of reasons. The worst being customer service. However, today's experience was a real turn around! The checkout operator was so helpful, kind and friendly! Since today is the first full day of the second lockdown, it was so awesome to see that not everyone is losing their head right now. I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, but your friendliness and kindness was definitely noticed and I'll be back again next week.

Yep bhb count down has most items you need, constant savings and reduced items, bread section not that great for gluten free though.

Usually pretty good but don't always have what I need. Still pretty decent though.

. (12/2017) A relatively small Countdown store. Well organised. Nicely maintained. Clean and hygienic ambiance. Good produce. Fresh groceries. Great selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Fast service. Good for quick visits. Spacious parking area. Wheelchair parking is available and there is wheelchair accessible entrance.

Smallish supermarket but huge carpark. Great during lockdown period with covoid virus as small line with wait of 10mins or less to go thru and do your basic needs shopping. Staff are friendly. Could look cleaner or update inside of store.

Good for a quick shop. Not the variety of some of the larger branches but still ok. Frustrating that some of the items I buy are often not in stock or have limited stock left on shelf. Easy to get a carpark.

It's okay. For Blockhouse Bay, is your way to avoid going to the dairy. Small and convenient? Yes. But if you prefer a bigger supermarket, that's not the place to go.

Great range of products, fresh breads and salad items. Friendly and helpful staff. Great holiday or event themed gifts or decorations. Easy to follow store layout with aisles you can actually move down without bumping trollys into shelves or other shoppers. Great selection of ready to make meals or heat and eat delu style meals in store not just frozen or canned.

The major concern I have is the practice of queuing down the alleyway. With people constantly going thru against the flow of the que, it is impossible to maintain social distancing. The alley is not even 2 metres wide. This practice is putting people at unnecessary risk. Other than that I think your staff are doing a marvelous job in trying circumstances.

Basically a slightly larger Four Square. Good for picking up milk, bread and a few basics that you forgot on the way home (as long as it's not too exotic - they have a very limited range). Friendly staff though.

Small version of the normal countdown still has a good variety and normal countdown specials just tend to be smaller stock qtys. Parking is good but could do with some thought to exit layout.

This one doesn't deserve 5 stars because of the missing specials and the laid back attitude. I've bin here couple of times but couldn't see much of difference since day one to day seven. Hope things change for good. But otherwise you have rest everything else the same as others do. Good luck fellas

Donovan Street Countdown is great for me as I have a health issue and it is close has parking close to the door the isles are short and it has everything I need. The checkout staff are great, friendly, remember me, and always pack my bags not to heavy and we'll balanced.

Good place for things you have forgotten at the supermarket. Avoid school drop off/pick up times. The car park is a zoo. Easy parking other times.

Small store very busy also gives a discount with a seniors card

In and out not a big store no alcohol.lot of shelves missing stock at the moment.

The provide bags for free in case you forgot yours. Plus, your child can have a piece of fruit for free if they want. The store is smallish and a bit tired, but it's ok.

Its a bit rundown and not as big as the lynfield countdown but the staff are always friendly and its convenient for the wonderful BHB shops. Just dont use it as a pickup ppint on the school run.

only supermarket in blockhouse bay area, quite small in the size and not that much product available . always fruit or vege out of stock . better to go lynfield or newlynn countdown few km away
