Great supermarket, very friendly staff from produce all the way to checkouts. Wide range of products that cater specifically to the community which is awesome. Always clean and tidy, only issues are queues at the checkout, but the Scan and Go checkout option is always better, scan as you pick products then checkout at the dedicated checkout, no waiting.

Quite a good size, not too cramped. Staff are friendly and helpful. Has lotto and a walk in beer chiller. Sometimes tills get busy and you have to queue for a while.

This is my local countdown and Williamson Ave countdown. I'd choose Richmond Rd countdown any day, I love this countdown. Its a nice store to go to, good prices, I love the layout of the store inside and out and the car park is very nice. Also, the staff are awesome and polite. They are always happy to help, it is always a joy shopping here.

Pretty run of the mill supermarket. Has great wine selection but not much chilled. Excellent beer and cider selection. Lots of craft and huge chilled selection. Big carpark, good staff. Deli and Bakery are pretty standard. Definitely a better option than Letdown (Countdown Pt Chev, but your local dairy is likely better than that) but not as good as Williamson Ave.

Staff are exceptionally helpful and polite here! It's nice bumping into the familiar, friendly staff here. Always happy to help. This countdown is smaller than the newer one up the road, but I'm still able to get everything on my shopping list for a family of picky eaters all with different dietary requirements. Highly recommend for consistency, helpful staff and the better opening hours!

Shopping with Ease The flow of this supermarket is fairly easy and unobtrusive. Can float from aisle to aisle comfortably and there is an intuitive approach to their layout, things just seem to make sense where they’re placed. Fairly good produce and meat sections. Bakery could up their game a bit but yeah.... Best of all - they’ve recently ELIMINATED plastic bags🤔🙏🏼😉

Thanks to its location, I go there at least twice a week. The one on Richmond rd is way bigger than the other in Grey Lynn. Recently had a unpleasant experience with products which already passed the Best Before Date. nearly two to three months!!! First time, believed it's just a mistake as they said but second time when I went back to change, I was greatly disappointed because they didn't take it seriously. Now I check the expiry date or best before date extra carefully when shopping there.

Great range of fruit & veges and a fantastic range of wine. Its a big store and the range of products is really good. It can be a little tricky getting your car in and out of the carpark as its a very busy road and there is only one entrance and exit

This is where we do our weekly shop. It's never too busy here, which I like. It's not a big supermarket but I wouldn't say it lacks anything. Deli isn't extensive and there aren't as many bulk bins as you might find in other supermarkets. The staff here are nice and friendly. Something that does frustrate me though is how the customer service/Lotto counter is often empty. Lotto is no big deal I guess but I feel like the customer service desk should have someone watching over it most times.

This Richmond Rd Countdown is one of our favourites and is open till late (midnight). It has a very large range of produce and is always well-stocked, with an especially good range of breads and cakes baked onsite and a large and diverse selection of wines and beers. Always make sure you use your OneCard when you go, for max discounts - or use the teller's store card if you forget your own.

Great supermarket, although there were far too many baby boomers for my liking. Gluten free section decent but a bit mixed up.

Generally a pretty good supermarket- the staff are all friendly & happy to talk. Sundays however are awful. Every sunday afternoon the whole of Grey Lynn descend on the place. Chaos ensues as mums in activewear and bearded men in floral shirts queue along the aisles and down past the ice cream freezers all the way to the meat section. The self scanning stations run hot and then stop because someone dared to buy a bottle of Rose, and even though they have a pensioners gold card and facial recognition scanners would identify their wrinkles as a barcode, a staff member still has to approve them as being over 18. Meanwhile 6 tills stand idle because countdown are cutting staff numbers and encouraging self scanners. It has been this way for months. Every Sunday. Management could roster more check out staff. Or us sheeple could go elsewhere on a sunday.

I recently went to Countdown on Richmond Road to get re-fills for my soda stream. On the day they only gave me 6 instead of the 7 I gave them. I only realised this when I got home. This is annoying as it costs less for a refill than it does it new canister. I remembered I said on the day that I didn't want my receipt (I never do) and that trying to get my canister back would be too much of a nightmare so I thought I wouldn't just give up on it. However I discovered they had also given me an empty one as well. This was really annoying so I called them up to try and fix the problem. To my surprise they totally understood and fixed it immediately and gave me 2 refills for free for the hassle of having to go back in to get them! The whole phone call only took 5 mins and she was very apologetic. So there you go. Good service! It almost made my day. Too easy.

I have been going to countdown since it opened.I go here for convenience.I know the layout.I just wish the staff could be friendlier.all they need to do is smile and say Hello.give people a bit of recognition.i see the same people 3 times a week.some places you go to you receive an unatural welcome and conversation - all txt book stuff. But other places you are recognised and welcomed.
