I shop there all the time .. only cause I know where to get everything in a hurry .. its ok people are lovely and respectful some are not bit rude but everything fresh .. but specials change weekly as they do . Taxi rank right out side the door .heaps of carparking cameras everywhere keep you safe .. ..

Despite the fact that the deli is closed by 8pm, you'll usually find that they provide a good selection & variety of 'grocery items' & necessities to choose from.

Everyone wearing masks & as i was scanning the code others were waiting 2 meters apart to do the same, taking precautions & practicing social distancing well stocked & not alot of people either

Was over this way for a medical appointment so called in to this Countdown. Nice clean shop that looks to have been updated recently. Everything is well laid put and nice wide aisles make products easy to find. There is a dedicated seafood area .. perfect for all the seafood lovers .. pleasantly surprised .. would happily shop here again.

LOVELY SUPER MARKET IT HAS A DELI..ND EVERYTHING YOU CAN POSSIBLY HAVE. ONLY ONE THING ITZ QUITE EXPENSIVE.

Shopped here on a Friday between 12 and 1pm. Shop was very quiet. Plenty of parking around. Shop was fully stocked. Not a lot of variety on popular items like New World does but they do stock in bulk. Good customer service. Overall nice place to shop.

More shade trees needed...summer sun is brutal when youre waiting in your car

Ive never had an issue here but then it isnt my regular store (used to be -back in the day) And thats why im giving it 4 stars. Bcos "back in the day" staff were so much more talkative and friendly. Now they look tired (sorry guys) an lookin as if they want their day over! There u have it. Its how i saw it. I guess i shud add...we are in the middle of lockdown. So to be fair the staff r in a high risk situation. Shud i rewrite this....yeh nah! Till next time...be kind, stay safe an rmemba....we're all in this 2getha!

Tidy store. Abundant parking. Self check-out available. Staff everywhere to ask if you need an item, as well as always re-stocking shelves👍 Absolutely love the Te reo and English version of departments throughout the store. Very cool. 5 stars. Well done!

This is our local shopping place, customer service is 50/50 depending on whos serving, can get some rude tellers now and then otherwise love coming here to do my grocery shopping. Aisle workers are solid aswell as the deli workers always welcoming and ready to serve (deli) or help when needed (aisles).

Not as big as other countdowns but you will get what you need. Just watch out for the odd homeless beggars whom security should be on too of. Traffic gets a bit hectic so park safely. $2 store and chemist are walking distance and next door as well as island foods around the corner and a great chicken and chips shop on main road.

Visited yesterday to pop in and buy some items, coming from central Auckland I was a little wary of going but it was nice layout and friendly people, I'm a loyal countdown customer because I like their specials, the layout, lighting and free fruit for kids :) Food for roadtip sorted :)

This is a nice spacious Countdown store tucked away off the main drag of Massey Road in Mangere East and behind a little block of shops consisting of a Post shop, KFC, couple of bakeries, superettes both dairy and fruit shops and a laundromat. Across the road is a butcher with beautiful fresh and frozen meat, huge fruit and vegetable shop and a Pizzeria. Getting back to countdown, I like the location and it has heaps of parking, and is next to the local doctors and Pharmacy. The times that I have been here have not seemed over crowded. Very tidy store with happy staff who are very welcoming. Another bonus is the in-store lotto outlet. Relaxed shopping just the way I like it...

This is one of my favourite Countdown stores. Recently I found out "it's the bakehouse" fresh cakes, bread, especially the special birthday gateaux are "right there" This is "The bigger store" The nearest mega to our Mangere district. It's plentiful & the mark downs, are more frequent. 👌 As a mama of young adults "diversity" is us. We get this here. "It's easier to switch up" ideas (dinners/meals) due to new products, good pricing & fabulous friendly staff. PS: It's a Buzzing busy supermarket..popular with handy $2 shop near by, kfc, bakery for a coffee/ tea & scone/muffin/pie while you might be waiting for washing at the laundromat next door. A docters, a chemist, a post office. My fav vege binn across the road. Great pricing xx Happy shopping in Mangere East overall xx Handy library too xx

My local countdown been a local for 30y+. Definitely great selection of foods etc. I really love that they now have a few aisles of the health supplements and organic healthy selections,nuts n seeds etc, a great addition and much needed n Mangere.

As in need of an item, saw Countdown sign, headed right in as the brand is a reliable supermarket for groceries and other items needed to grab quickly. Surprised that eventhough it's hidden from main road, it's quite a sizable complete store worth a visit.

Fast through checkout Nice and stocked Clean building

Shopping made easy here. Everything is available. The most attractive thing is the free fruits basket for the children.....! How sympathetic their attitude towards the poor children.

My other favorite place to go do my grocery shopping. Also know a few people that work there. My family also love shopping there. Good hours

I have lived in Mangere for 35trs. I have shopped at Mangere East since the new Countdown opened. In all that time I have only had 2 problems. ! with the quality of an item (no fault because of Countdown) and one with incorrect pricing. Both times they were dealt with there and then on the spot no waiting no arguing. The staff here are "AWESOME"

I do the bulk of my grocery shopping at this store often - it's clean, spacious n well presented. I like the layout, easy for me to access whatever item(s) am looking for. Try it out if you're within the vicinity n see if this store has what you're looking for.

I'm giving it a 4 because you don't have any whiska cat food in packets you only have tins I have been to 3 countdowns & there were none. Why is it out of stock? My cat idgie is not a happy cat & she has every right to voice her opinion Meowww 🙀🙀😾😾😾😼

Has basically everything, only issue I have is the lines. And they have 5-6 counters but only 2-3 are open throughout the year. I've never seen them ALL open. The self checkout is also slightly terrible. Won't take money, recipcts don't come out or it's out of order.

Nice and clean ....cornavirus 19 line not long like pack n save in mangere...car park a little cramped when coming In from main road...but otherwise all good While shopping just hear over the speaker energy drinks not being sold to those under 16 years.

Awesome was waiting in the selfservice queue and the countdown worker grabbed my Heineken box and said I'll help you out with that. She held my box till I got to a checkout that was free.

It was Great to Shop Today at Mangere East Countdown very nice 👌People who were shopping themselves helped me get some items down from the shelves that I couldn't reach but something need's to be done about the shelves as I'm always getting electric Shocks getting items off the shelves as I'm on a Walker I'd like to say a very big Thank you for the Customers who helped me get items from off the Shelves maybe the Staff could help out with Situation like mine when there are People using Walker's and are on Wheelchairs Thank you. 7

Well stocked shelves nicely set out, fresh and modern always good quality of products in stock good customer service.

Nice and easy, accept too many shoppers without masks. NO emphasis on hand sanitizing on entry and exit and waste of time having a station for that purpose at the door.

Huge walk in beer fridge, sadly none of their wines had a fridge. Great for red wine but not for whites. Otherwise a typical shopping trip with no lines outside

Easy to shop find what you're looking for.Having self cash machines is great not a long queue

It's aight, nothing special. The stock isn't amazing but it's local and I respect that. Smells funny a lot of the time tho especially the entrance lol

Friendly and helpful staff who is always smiling some even remember when you visit again which is always a good thing. Love the self service checkouts and also have a good range of wine and beers. Also love the special prices on certain items which falls in my favour

Apart from the upgrade the in house specials they have makes the trip to the supermarket even better! Especially their roast chickens going half price and all their lock down items. Staff are always friendly but maybe need more on their busy nights.

I had no idea 'one card's was easy to apply,thanks to the cashier she took the time to explain dispite how busy it was, it was clear n simple. The environment was clean and the staff was friendly, it made my shopping routine more relaxing and an enjoyable one.👍👌

Everything in place and easy to find

Convenient easy parking. Toilets available and not dramas at front desk. However there seems to be the same old tall indian man that is always in the car park who asks for money...hes not shy to knock on your window either.

There are plenty car parks, the staff are fast and friendly. They have good product range. And the store is very tidy.

It's very simple compared to pack'an-save everything is stocked really well very clean there is a wheel chair accessible parking and it flat there's not ramps needed although I must say it's good that there's a countdown domain near me its saves a lot of gas and time

Overall, the inside of the store and checkout service is ok. The letdowns were that there were too many products with no pricing. No healtheries or specialities section, where the keto-friendly alternatives normally are. E.g. sugar-free chocolate. Check your receipt before you leave - I was overcharged on something but didn't notice until the next day.

Clean and tidy. Helpful friendly staff

No beggars or buskers loitering today. One lady tried to walk in via the exit doors without signing in but staff lady at the front door made that right.

Staff are friendly and willing to assist if required unfortunately the beggars that hang around the carpark hassling for money or at the entrance it's annoying less to say. What can we do??

I always go here to buy my meat as it always looks fresh and the girl there tasha that does the meat is always helpful and friendly to everyone

Front door was out of order so everyone had to go through the exit to enter. Produce, products and set up are the same as all the other supermarkets. We used the self service and someone had not finished there order and left the supermarket without paying for there bags which was only 15c but delayed us being able to use the machine which was annoying and rude

Massey road East Mangere is the best Countdown in the area. It's very clean the staff are helpful. Countdown have sent beggars and others packing. I can't stand it when you want to go into the shop and your faced with the above..... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Close to home? Great set up. Got it all, actually has more and better specials than my usual favourite pak n sav? So I'm sold and gonna make it my regular.

Good place. Short wait even at 5.30 but the Gluten free selection is a bit lacking. They have Gluten free bread but that's about all.

Great variety, big,clean & good shopping experience

Rubbish overflow at the entrance is an eye sore. Also disability park at the front needs to be monitored. So many arrogant/ignorant non disabled people park there & don't move. Security that's you.

Sometimes this supermarket is so busy and understaffed, and I really appreciate their staff working in this store. They are one of the most friendliest Countdown Team/Staff.

20May17 I am a fan of Countdown because they work on their store layouts and merchandise to make them well lit and welcoming. For example, in the Manukau store, near the entrance, there is a fruit basket with free fruit for kids! Simple? Sure! But you won't find this Innovation in many supermarkets. Anyway this Countdown store in Mangere East is relatively new, about two years old and replaces the much smaller, older, crowded store at the nearby location across the car park. Very good product choice here. Self check out too. And lots of parking.

Some of the staff here were not very friendly they were a bit mean but overall not bad

They a good supemarket. Please this xmas leave wheechair parks for wheelchairs not a huge plastic blown up santa takeing up wheelchair parks. So unthoughtfull. If you were in a wheelchair and couldnt get a park you have to go home again. Have a little empathy

Pretty dark, sad place BUT the staff are always so super friendly. I always feel really valued shopping here and the people really make up for all it lacks in terms of space, range and lighting.

Good bargain price

When you're hungry go shopping , your hunger pangs will let you know what it wants , and most Countdown stores will satisfy your growling beast . But don't go shopping anytime after six , queues of at the check out stations will give you sideway glances at the growling beast . Sympathetic and understanding nods , once you apologized embarrassingly until someone at the next queue growl a challenge to your beast . ( I don't call my stomach beast ... only that one time in public , Vic . Beast sound impressive than stomach .)

U want cheap veggies and meat Mangere is the place to go. Library's not bad either getting on a computer is pretty quick but quite a long wait for ipads. Allnall not a bad place to kill a few hours with those noisy kids and it's free. Yayyyyyyy

Countdown Mangere was very clean, neat and bright, it's a very positive vibe and the products are easy to find. Staffs were also very friendly.

Popped in for a few items and filled my small trolley with items I'd forgotten about. Loved the music playing outside, gave a donation in appreciation.

Have only been here a handful of times but it's always clean and the customer service is wonderful!

Prices still bit to much on groceries but love meat specials if you there first

Best thing CD did build a decent shopping centre in Mangere East, we now have the pleasure like other communities of having a shopping experience rather than just shopping, its the big 5 from me

After 8pm they close the entrance off , just turn left and go through the customer service entrance to get in
