This supermarket is within convenient and easy walking distance, with tons of parking even during peak times should you need to bring your car it also stocks a fantastic range of food and other grocery items to suit all culinary Appetites, 🙂 it’s nice to see all the shelves fully stocked too 🥰

This is one of Auckland's handiest central city Countdown supermarkets. Well designed with big aisles, clear signage and stocked with local products. Informed staff who can assist with every enquiry. Recommended to inner city residents and travellers. Their cheese section is comprehensive and Includes the deservedly famous Over The Moon cheeses. I'm a regular client. Quick alert! There's the new Over The Moon cheeses here. Try them!

Good range of products at Countdown Ponsonby. Handy location just off Ponsonby so the perfect place to get supplies when you're heading home or off to a friend's place for a BBQ.

Great place! Always happy to shop there. The shelves are always well stocked and the staff are always helpful. It is always very busy there but if you don’t mind waiting then that will be fine.

They were so kind to me. Immediately as they saw me coming in with an electric scooter they found a safe spot for me to keep it while I shopped. I hadn’t received the same treatment on other Countdowns I visited.

I love the quality the selection if you don't want to buy something expensive you can always go to the deli and buy something there for lunch it's a bit of an alternative to paying 20 to $25 for a meal

Love the mostly plastic free produce section! They have great tips and reusable produce bags as well. This is still a trial run so they ask for constructive feedback while they’re figuring this out. I think it’s a great start. I’ve also found this store to be very organised and clean every time we’ve been in the past.

This one is bigger and better than the Countdown in CBD. Has many more options and also the stock availability is quite better. I always prefer going here as it is big, spacious and not very busy unlike the one in the city. Parking is always difficult but there is bike stand tight outside. Also there is bakery which is even better. Opens longer than city's CD

One of the nicer countdowns, always clean, well stocked, good range and variety of products and friendly staff. Plenty of good covered parking too. Other countdowns could use this countdown as a model. Only negative is that at times there are only two manned checkouts open and you're encouraged to use the self checkouts. Oh and the local pigeons approve too as they also shop here.

Spacious shopping space..variety of consumable...with occasional offers ...!! Free fruits for kids, free samples on sales promotion or introductory products. Counter check outs often assisted by check out staff handing the bags directly to customers hand in order to avoid shopped items gone missing, that's highly appreciated.

Huge and clean, you can get everything you need grocery-wise here. Lots of fresh produce and not packed in plastic, big plus for me. Good selection of wines and beers as well. Friendly staff and plenty of registers to self-checkout. Will definitely shop there again

Excellent Supermarket with convenient underground parking, esculators and good security. There's an ANZ ATM in the foyer and the supermarket is just a short walk to the Ponsonby Road bus stops and the Williamson Avenue bus stops if heading West. Ponsonby Countdown is well stocked, clean and tidy. It also has an in-store pharmacy.

Great Countdown with wide selection and friendly people. Soooo large contrast to Countdown Grey Lynn. If you think the Ponsonby shop is just all right, shop at Grey Lynn (just a few blocks down) a couple times and you will understand.

Nice layout, clean and tidy, there's even a handy pharmacy here. Great variety and produce, easy parking. It opens till late but it can overcrowded during weekends, and can run out of stocks especially the popular brands one in the afternoon. Even the trolleys are limited at times so remember to take one from the carpark if you find one. Service can be inconsistent, most of the time they are great, but occasionally the staffs can be rude or unprofessional.

The new countdown store in the area. Very convenient location. Usual good quality stock. Helpful staff. Ample parking is available on two basement levels, accessible from Pollen street. Parking is free for 2 hours which makes it very comfortable to shop here. Some special products are available only in this store.

Very large Countdown with two layers of covered parking to keep you dry and a escalator to get your trolley down to the car park easy. Well stocked when I visited and the floors and counters were all new and very clean. Best countdown I've visited.

Rarely long queues at the checkouts, isles are clean, stocked and overall very fresh. I've found that some items are missing (compared to the Countdown on Quay), but it is a smaller store, so I guess it's a trade off. Parking is good (a bit unventilated), has 90/120 mins parking spots.

Nice and clean supermarket that has a modern vibe and design. Love the vege section as it always seems to be super fresh and well stocked. The bakery section is great for lunches alongside the usual great selection of breads.

Of all the countdowns this is the favourite. What makes it better is produce. Unlike many others they seem to have not only great presentation but.. it feels smells and tastes fresh. It may be just opinion but it's the best in town

Countdown offers a wide variety of products: great produce, a good selection of wines and there a multiple healthy options. The grocery store is neither too big so you get tired walking around the aisles nor too small so you don’t find everything you are looking for in one place. There is a really nice aisle with all sorts of nuts (which you pay by weight).

I’m not normally a fan of Countdown’s but this one is top notch. Great selection of most everything you want or need and when I can easily find Japanese Tonkatsu sauce you know the specialty area will rock. Easy on site parking too.

Clean, plenty of parking and conveniently located. However despite having a seemingly wider variety of products than other countdown stores, items often seem to get out of stock - especially if on promotion You also have to be careful about ticketed prices, particularly with their 2 day sale deals. I have caught CD over charging with incorrect prices a number of times because they haven't updated the prices in their scanning system. Also double check the best before or expiry dates on your purchases. I have spotted on the shelves or unfortunately purchased several products past their dates (culprits have included mayonnaise, smoked salmon, spreads like peanut butter, crackers and coffee).

Very friendly people good service and the guy who does a trolleys there he's disabled very friendly very helpful they are very lucky to have him because he used to work at Countdown New Markets a very hard-working guy cares his name is Dean Stanton he deserves an award for the hard work. he had some health problems he had to have time off and he's bounce back and he's back to work

Great experience as always. Has everything you need in a Countdown, and more besides. Great deal going on Peronis (at the time of writing) although we settled on Tokyo Dry Steinlagers for a crisp beer on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Anyway, I've digressed - 4/7 would shop again.

This one stocks a lot more of the niche premium quality products, so if you're after the niggly things then look no further. Staff are always helpful and there is generally heaps of parking. This Store, I would say is one of the better Countdown. Accessible parking, more of a selection of groceries from health food to main staples. There Deli, Meat, Bakery, dairy section are abundant. I have to say, this one is my favorite.

It's always busy here during the day, so it's best to come here early morning or late at night. Still, it's worth it though. I've been to a lot of Countdowns and this is the best one IMO. The best part that it's a 10 minute walk from my house!

One of the newest countdown supermarkets. However chiller rotation here is also terrible. Bought yoghurt which was off. The bakery is the star of this location with different freshly baked treats and breads! Parking is in their own multi storey which gets like a hot house in summer.

Countdown is definitely not cheap but consistently provides high quality products. They are not the only ones to sell it, but their green-lipped mussels from Stewart Island as well as the Kikorangi blue cheese always made my day. This is especially true for the cheese which is almost the only decent NZ one for my French taste.

I always shop here and I love the friendly staff and the cleanliness however today while shopping there were a lot of shelves stocked with the wrong prices, very difficult to track how much I'm spending as I go as well as making decisions between value and quality.

A very big supermarket. Prices are the most low in district. There are a lot of groceries. Also you can found some useful household goods such cookware, electrical extension cords etc.

If you're staying in Ponsonby, this is a good place to stock up on supplies. There's a good amount of free parking underneath the store - this might get full at peak times. There is a Spark mobile phone shop inside although their pre-pay/PAYG SIM-only deals aren't fantastic for tourists like we were.

I was pleased to be able to get a six pack of organic eggs. Which have disappeared from most stores in the suburbs who only provide 12 pack eggs. The buyers of individual stores often don't cater enough for specialist requirements.......

Only getting three stars as i got like 3$ off with my one card. man does the self sevice tills crack me up. The person had to come over about 6 times tonight, 3 of these where in a row to swipe there card thing. It's almost like countdown don't like u using your own bags, very very very annoying. It's not just ponsonby btw happens all the time in different countdowns. In queen street I was using my own bag and the girl had to come over and swipe to say it was fine as the scales where freaking out, I said would be good if there was a button to press saying I'm using my own bag, her reply was there is. What what what great no more needing to wait for someone. Next time I'm in, own bag button was used and what happens the girl had to come over anyway to say it was okay to use. Does my head in. Could be pack n save from now on they love you using your own bags.

Posh Countdown shop, and one of the most expensive in the chain. Unfortunately, if you're looking for fish, you can't find any here; unless if it's in a can. However, the pharmacy is inside the shop, so as long as the shop is open, you can get your hand into any pharmacy-grade medications. Not as big as the one in Quay St, but got almost everything that you needed.
