Hmm loads of parking always a friendly face. My issue is some of the items they sell. Otherwise a great place. Try the deep fried flounder and the 2 person seafood pack. Fried bread is always on point and their watercress is delish if you're looking for some for your boilup. That's if they have any left lol goodluck

Tobys is my local and it never fails to deliver the most delicious fresh fish and chips. I have been going here for ages and last night, as always yummy and fresh. Also the staff are super friendly. Excellent value for money too.

Toby's is thee best Takeaways around,I'm yet to find or have a bad experience!! The only BAD thing about Toby's is... They haven't opened a store in Sunnynook on the Northshore yet There takeaways are LOVELY,especially there battered Fish,always Devine and never any problems there. I also love there battered oysters and mussels.Tino Reka!! Chips are tasty,nice n crispy on the outside and soft and smooth on the inside. Raw fish is nice and kinas good when there in the right season. Also,the home to the 2nd GREATEST fried bread in the entire world,behind my Te Rarawa nana of course.cannot fault this place,lots of free parking..recommended to all!!

Ordered 2XSnapper ($6 EA) , $2 Chips and $1 X takakau (Maori bread - square thick bread slice soft crust mild sweet and soft inner texture and may be fried in bit of oil as it had a bit brown caramel color). Their Snapper is quite thick, flaky, weighs quite a bit per piece and tasted fresh ( don't know if I was lucky) but will definitely try them again to confirm the consistency. I loved the Takakau by itself will go well with coffee and milk tea by itself. Thanks for the wonderful meal. Will surely visit this place again.

Toby's serves large portions of good, hi-quality fish & chips for an extremely reasonable price. $5 buys 2 pieces of fish plus a decent serving of chips -- plenty for one person. Neither the fish nor the chips are greasy nor too salty -- they're just right. Excellent value -- I'll definitely eat here again. Recommended.

Also great attitude when I told that last time fish was not really good the girl was very nice and asked us to call next time if we dont like the quality and tell them feedback same day so they can deal with that.
