Nice super market, staff are very pleasant. They have a great range of international and gluten free products. Go in and have a wander, it not a ginormous place but it’s packed with heaps of goodies.

Hi all, I decided to add my two cents to the other reviews and had seen some interesting comments. I read the comments from the gentleman regarding buying a lotto ticket at 8.45 am and not getting his way. Saying that no one was around and the “silly “ woman wouldn’t sell them until 9am. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he just didn’t realise that they are not allowed to sell them beforehand, and there are cameras operating all the time, so no one being around is not correct. If the staff member did sell the ticket prior to 9am they could be fired and I would assume they were not willing to risk their job for you! Just the same for alcohol. I hope that I have given clarity to that situation. Now to my review, I moved over to this side of town a couple of years ago so this is my new local. I have found great staff (bar 2) to be helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This team have been brilliant during the lockdowns and continued to smile, even through the masks, during a very uncertain time. I for one am very appreciative of all of the staff. I can always find what I need or get help if I can’t. Anyway my experience to date has been positive and would recommend it. 🙂💐🙃🏆

Tired after a long trip bussing to 2Burwood Hosp decided to walk home via Countdown the prices are good with lots of markdowns for the frugal gal 💕noticed the kindness shown to a shopper in a wheelchair & me !

I've always had great service from Countdown Colombo St. They go out of their way to make life easier for their customers. I've had a couple of cases of "above and beyond" treatment from there.

Bit conflicted about this place. They have some super lovely, smiley, friendly staff, but also a couple of frowny, almost rude staff that more than offset the good ones. Range isn't as good as other stores, but it's very close and has good parking, including underground, so if its raining, no dramas. Recently picked up some meat that was priced at $10, but scanned at $12.50. Showed it to the Self scanner check out dude. He fixed it, begrudgingly, offered no apology or explanation, and made me feel like it was my fault, and why was I bothering annoying him with this trivial matter.

Lovely little countdown - has all you need and the staff are all quite friendly. It is kept very clean, and there are great deals on fruit and veggies occasionally! One complaint I would have is that I have seen staff yelling at each other at this store. I am not sure what it was about, though it was near the deli section. Seems a little unprofessional.

Hit or miss with this countdown. Some staff are great. Mostly the younger ones. Some of the staff (2 i can recall) are just rude and come across as if the customer is is an inconvenience. The buskers are ok but the beggars out front i can do without.

Great shop. Good staff always helpful will show you were goods are that you can not find. The pick and mixed bins could be look after better. A few empty bins. Some bins are block. Pull the handle and no content come out. A. Month as pass and the bulk bins are still not fix. I will be going to fresh choice for my pick a day mixed lolly. My star rating should be one star now

While it's not a big flash new store like Ferrymead, it's got everything you'll ever need, and the great thing is its never hugely busy so you hardly ever have to queue. There's plenty of self-service check-outs too. Veggie & fruit section is good, bakery is smaller than others but yummy, deli is fine, beer & wine selection is better than some, meat area is nicely organised, and the dairy / frozen area is extensive. Staff are friendly and helpful. Underground carpark is awesome when it's raining! The only gripe I have is the prices aren't as cheap as PaknSave... but this is Countdown.

Great selection of small bits and pieces in the hardware at good prices. If I need a specific bit that's hard to find I will always search there first instead of that place starting with b. And the staff aren't due to go to the retirement village in the next 2 years.
