Did the weekly groceries , Tuesday gold card discounts day , $11 nothing to be sneezed about . Countdown always has a good variety of food products .

Friendly, helpful staff, great product range. My goto store.

Haven't been here enough to judge it, but the one time I went there this Jan in afternoon on a weekday I liked the demographic of staff. Haven't seen the staff during the day, so can't judge too much about the ethnicity of people they hire. I have seen other countdowns such as countdown columbo street where they are highly discriminatory and try to exclude New Zealand workers from working there. Countdown Eastgate as I said I visited one afternoon and quite a few staff were New Zealanders, would have to visit a bit more at different times to make a better judgment but I am pleased that atleast there was a moment in the store where I saw mostly New Zealand workers which is quite uncommon in other stores such as Countdown Columbo street.

Great variety of products and a very friendly team. It's always lovely chatting to the checkout operators and deli staff. Good range of hot chickens always available. Good meat specials. Great range of health food and special diet food items. Things to improve on are the number of smaller sized shopping trolleys, and the availability of keto bread (often runs out).

Service is great 99% of the time but the prices are borderline criminal. If you use the delivery service you should always check your order and check off the invoice because 1/3 of the time I am missing an item.

Always a bunch of helpful, friendly staff, has been my local for many years now

I am a C/D shopper. On sunday I went to Eastgate Mall and shopped at this store for the first time. I have rated 5 for cleanliness, customer service, specials (particularly being available in store), got all the items that I wanted and general presentation.

Friendly staff and spacious layout of store makes this supermarket less stressful to visit. Usual Countdown deals on offer. Plenty of parking.

Amazing food and service. Ladies there were so lovely and friendly with us, including our babies. Can not recommend more highly. Better bring the hubby next time.

Sometimes they'll sell cheaper goods than pak n save but countdown seems to also offer a wide variety of discounted items

I've moved away from this area but still shop here when i can. Shop with your one card and you get specials specially catered for you eventually. Friendly awesome staff too.

The layout ok but there were quite a few items I was after that weren't in stock.

I quite like this countdown, it has a pharmacy inside, fresh deli, bakery and is often well stocked, also they are often the store that provides my weekly online shopping. They are very consistent packing all the correct items or providing suitable replacements. Would recommend for weekly shop or a quick stop.

Not my usual shop so didn't know where everything was

Just OK. Had Sushi for lunch will not buy it again. Pretty average.

General local store would be nice if the music wasnt so loud and their stacking of shelves wasnt interferring with customer experience. I dont like their layout as you walk in store but they have free fruit for kids and thats always a bonus im more of a straight to the dairy and bread and straight out of there kinda person though.

An okay selection of groceries.. disappointing that there is no organic eggs and very small selection of health foods. Great for fresh flowers and plants and good specials for things that are a bit on the expensive side so they get marked down !

Is a supermarket with a decent variety of products. Staff friendly and even asks you if you have a gold card, just because I have grey hair.

This gets five stars for the staff being lovely even though they put up with some bs. From the regular sprinting shoplifters to the lack of heating in this place in winter, it's a rugged little gem of a supermarket. And you can check out the New Brighton beach /peir/pools while you're there.

Liked doing my groceries here. Spacious, clean and offers a wide range of products. Shelves are generally well stocked and with the self checkout, customers do not have to wait long at the checkout unlike before. Customer service has quite improved.

I've been going to Countdown Eastgate on and off for 10 years. They always have a decent selection of everything, the prices are ok but not as good as Pak n Save, and the staff are great. All except one lady who works the self checkout. She's been so reliably lowkey rude for so many years that at this point it's almost just a funny quirk. Almost.

I've always had positive shopping experiences here. I've always experienced quick and swift service from cashiers and when I use the self checkouts and need assistance from the one staff member who manages that section is always pleasant and the staff member is always friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong with the specials here and it's always very helpful to carry a one card in case of any other money saving specials. Just remember your bags and that's about it.

Was trying to buy an engine for my car. But probably was in wrong place . 😂

Slow your self help checkouts are a pain .

The staff here are wonderful. I went in to do the shopping with my baby and usually she doesn't fuss much but this day, she wailed from the start to finish. I thought I'd have to leave my groceries but all of a sudden I had 3 staff members appeared next to me. One held my baby, one unloaded my trolley and another packed my bags for me. I will forever be grateful for their act of kindness that day. You made a stressful situation much easier. Thank you so much. I wish I'd gotten their names.

It's big! Chances are they stock what ever your looking for and then some. I find the chemist with in great and I really like the deli. it's not my nearest supper market but I don't mind traveling for a good shop!

This is a good supermarket. They always have good specials but unfortunately there is one staff member who is always on the self checkout who is so rude it is a wonder she still works there. Three times I have had a personal encounter with her and she is always the same pushy, rude and condescending. It's a shame because the rest of the staff are lovely and it makes me not want to go there.

It's a good grocery store with fresh produce, competitive prices, kind, friendly professional staff. Also they help the environment by not using plastic bags so remember to bring your re-usable bags if your planning to shop at any countdown store.

Handy supermarket, seems well stocked

A good range of vegetarian food and now have a separate fridge section for vegetarian food in the organic aisle.

This the closest mall to where I live and Countdown is the supermarket there.

Great place to visit. One suggestion I would give is that main entrance need to be build on Buckley Road side as after 6pm everyone have to around along corner to get into shop but other than that everything great

Shop reasonably well laid out. Staff friendly and helpful. Take your loyalty card. Some bargins available. Generally good fresh produce, though not all prices are bargains. Fairly comprehensive selection of categories of items, including frozen and fresh.

Little bit busy. Trolleys could definitely use an upgrade. A lot of items were out of stock.

This is convenient being in eastgate mall, friendly staff some bargains and some new trolleys you can earn points on your one card to get a $15 voucher I think you need 200 points there is alot of parking which is great

Plenty of parking off peak. Loyalty card gets better value for money, and cheap feul. Friendly staff. Diverse selection. Not always best value. Off peak supports quick visits unless you simply want to try your luck.

Great customer service - please check use by dates on your purchases I got caught today 😠 got home to find the Farrah wraps I had purchased out of the use by date & had to drive back to exchange. The staff were very apologetic though 😊

Great place to shop apart from the homeless vagrants outside at night making me feel unsafe while I wait for my taxi I have limited sight so waiting inside isn't a option

Can always guarantee fresh produce from here however can all countdowns set up their supermarkets the same as the rest in their city hahaha so confusing and feel so lost coming from west to east stores.

Lots of parking and good produce always clean and great staff

They are a smaller shop than Pak n Save Wainoni but they have a broader range! Good Gluten Free section. Bit more expensive but worth it for the better range.

With lockdown and everything going on I believe that countdown eastgate is doing an awesome job. Their lines move quickly and Jayne at the checkout was serving me. She is an awesome lady!

All the food you can eat sometimes the tills are understaffed but I do my shopping in the way home so no rush

I love shopping at countdown eastgate. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The fruit and vege area is fantastic. the variety and freshness is impressive. The shelves are stocked with a great variety of product. I used to shop elsewhere but now only shop at countdown. thank you countdown....you all deserve a massive pat on the back.

Great staff, they are always willing to help and they are very kind and caring, I would've gave them 5 stars but I had brought some oysters from them, expecting them to be fresh I just ate it and then vomited straight away, my body knew something was wrong, I then smelt it and it was revolting, I was mostly disappointed that I now had no oysters but the lady at the counter was happy to refund my money, had I provided a receipt, all and all, I was fine, I didn't eat half and decide it was not good as my body wouldn't of been able to handle keeping it down

This mall is good could do with more shops and the parking needs to be sought out as access at times.

Open til 11pm, very convenient for quick stops and not usually much of a queue. Probably one of the only countdown supermarkets I will consider visiting. Staff are professional and friendly.

This us the best countdown I've seen so far with ample parking a mall next door and a wide range of products. It has its own help desk which makes finding what you want very easy.

Staff always helpful and friendly. Good choice in all departments. Only problem for me personally is I can't get the head taken off or a whole fish filleted.

I don't know what to say this shop has it all and if you are a local you just know that you will get that warm greeting and a big smile. This countdown is the heart and soul of Linwood.. A five star from me..

This is a good supermarket it is big and their prices very competitive and it's also handy to various other shops which is good as you can knock all on the head in one go.
