Good to see hombrand items from parent company stocked - as there are good price points and value associated with them.
Remember your bags and to return your Trundler to it's parking spot 🤣
D.Best supermarket around- people, price and availability. We got sick of our local premium brand supermarket because the staff were always rude and the availability of stock was patchy. Countdown Hornby are consistently good and cheaper too!

L.Tidy and clean supermarket. But, sometimes the bakery isn't filled early in the morning for people who might want to buy their lunch for work and sometimes popular items are out of stock and they don't refill till night time or the next day. But overall a good clean supermarket.

J.This large supermarket has all common products available for purchase, and is very easy to access via the traffic lights for Chappie Place. A large car park also guarantees a space to park easily, especially compared to the busy supermarket across the road in The Hub Hornby.
Update: Products are sometimes out of of stock due to supply issues.

S.Easy to get to. Plenty of parking, and several other shops close by.
L.I know there is a mall next door and like 10 restaurants but I wish they had a bigger fresh deli ready to eat section. Also I hate how the one card app can't be used at checkout and you need to have the physical card. This triggers me, because the woolworths app can be scanned in australia.

S.This supermarket has an excellent selection of wines and beers. There are always great sales on so you’ll definitely find a great drop. The deli and bakery have fresh and wonderful foods perfect for grabbing on the way to a BBQ or dinner party. The meat is high quality and so are the fruit and vegetables. The layout of the supermarket is clean, well lit and spacious. The staff are always friendly and they manage the queues at busy times well. Parking is an ease.

M.Always clean and tidy with friendly staff. My Kids love being able to grab a fresh piece of fruit every time we turn up which keeps both dad and children happy as they munch. Was there to pick up a parcel and the staff happily attended to my needs!

전.The INDIAN staff are horrible, lazy and bossy. I had to return a Dettol washing product due to a cap defect and the Indian supervisor refused to give me an exchange! Until a nice Kiwi stepped in and gave me the best service and exchange without hassles. All the Indian staff never smile, never greet customers. And give you rude stares.

R.friendly staff whiling to help and have a good humor to. As you can see from the reviews every one loves this place. How ever a friend thinks other wise for he went to get his usual Beers and because someone at Countdown Hornby could smell beer on his breath he was unable to buy. He was sober not drunk and night and day and other liquor out lets who have an off licence sells beer and spirits unless intoxicated. Do supermarkets have a different off licence?
P.Excellent service from a very helpful member of the seafood department. I called to see if they still had a special I had seen earlier in the day. The staff member offered to package to my requirements and have it ready for me when I got there. I arrived at the store 20 mins later a sure enough the fish was there ready for me. Great Service.
R.A large supermarket, clean and well laid out. Good variety of products and lots of parking. Self check outs as expected.
S.There's generous parking here, so finding a park is never a problem. They could work on presenting their products more nicely store wide. In some places it looks like someone has just upturned products out of a box - e.g. biscuit specials just past the fruit & vege area etc.
The luncheon at the deli looked like it had been sitting there for days as it was all dried up. When I mentioned this to the deli staff member they said that they could take the top bits off of the stack and proceeded to show me - but the sides of the remaining looked dry as well. Um, no thanks.

There were 2 check out operators on at the time which wasn't a big deal as only a short wait to be served. Relaxing environment to shop in and nice, friendly customer service at the checkout. Thankfully I wasn't asked 'would you like your receipt' - like they do at Pak n Save, Hornby.
T.Had a staff member call me a few weeks after my online order to let me know something was back in stock. It was so kind of her & well above & beyond the call of duty. In-store experiences have been great too. Great shop
L.Nice Staff. Easy to find what I wanted to buy. But why is the baking isle so dirty with flour, icing sugar etc all over the shelves? Dont you have cleaners to clean that up?
M.Clean and tidy had most things I wanted . Staff helpful and friendly .It's good
M.Have done click and collect over 10 times now and they get the order correct half the time. Am fed up of having to go back in to get the order sorted out correctly
K.Few issues with self service and multiple items on bought side. Poor lass that was supervisor was kept busy back and forwards. At least she had a smile and was very pleasant while sorting it out!

J.Like shopping groceries here. Ive learnt to know where to get my grocery items each week. They could do with more staff on the checkouts than let every1 go to self serve. And they need to get someone out collecting the trolley carts in it gets very untidy like there understaffed other than that its good to shop here.
C.Services pretty average much of the time and new stock takes ages to get onto the shelves. If you're looking for a new product wait a week before going to this countdown.

M.Countdown are a good place to shop for groceries, with decent prices especially if you have a OneCard. If you are a member with the AA you also aquire fuel discounts which add to the savings each week. Great selection of food, and overall a great place to shop.
J.Not normally a COUNTDOWN fan as I don't like Woolworths here in Australia. But this was a great looking store, had some excellent service, got a couple of good deals. Maybe it's just the people.

A.A young lady that was manning the self service checkout saw me waiting in the normal checkout with basket and put my groceries through the self service for me. What a wonderful unprompted act of assistance. Top points Coundown. Unfortunately I didn't get her name!
J.The parking space was very spacious. Ideal for camper vans. The price is average. The location is good. Near to fast food outlets. Easy access to the highway too.

M.No plastic bags now and open till 11pm.. A good supermarket located in Riccarton. It has all things that supermarkets should have and is easy to find as well as good car parking. Although when its busy and full it can be very congested. Of course in these busy times the carpark can demand one also has eyes in the back of their head.
Like all supermarkets these days it's clean, tidy and well stocked.
Close to the bus routes it could be quite conveniant for people without transport to get some groceries. Also by using the buses to the cafes and restaurants it is a very good way to avoid drink driving before or after going shopping at the Countdown.

E.Great branch that's easy to access and plenty of parking. We've always had great customer service from the team and they've always kept the shelves nicely stocked.
M.I usually go for the last hour (10.00 to 11.00pm when it is not so busy. The only thing that bothers me is the aisles are jam packed with cartons while the shelf packers go about their business.

A.Countdown is also a good supper market...so many products their also they have have sales going on depending what short deal you carry on you ...like sort of countdown deal card ...you can on the desk on your way out or one of the stuff
K.I usually go early just after opening time or late around closing time. That's when there are hardly anyone there and as I suffer ' anxlety and panic attacks plus agoraphobia ( fear of open areas but crowded, the opposite of agrophobia, fear of stuck in small rooms). I also have bad legs from a motorbike accident in 1981, I'm going on 64 now so I don't like being on my feet to long as I suffer pain 24/7.
