Nice to shop in. Seems great products or a bit more stylish than it competiter at same mall. Friendly helpful staff. Popular supermarket. Parking out front or underneath on hot or wet days.

Typical Countdown, large store with most of what I'd like. I stopped at this Countdown because cat food's a little hard to find right now. Two closer, to me, groceries didn't have a brand me cat will eat.. but this CD had a good stock and my cat's happy again. It was a little difficult getting past a few demanding beggars at the front entrance.

Countdown papanui I would say is the best countdown store in Christchurch this staff friendly they're willing to help the store gets a lot of traffic but not a lot of bulky traffic if you know what I mean like you can go in there any time and it's not overcrowded and shopping late in the evening it's a breeze it really is and if I ever went back to Christchurch countdown papanui would be my stop

Did our weekly groceries . First time there,, but staff were very pleasant and helpful. They had everything we wanted .

Always good environment as well as the mall being so close even underground parking so no getting your presents wet ,fast food, locksmith, clothing for the elderly,the outrages the middle aged, babies, there literally nothing you couldn't do there is even a pharmacy in the countdown, how good is that

I find the store super confusing to shop at as the aisles are split down the middle. However it's a nice clean store.

Countdown Northlands has been my local through the lockdown, I just want to thank the staff for making it almost relaxing shopping here! It was fully stocked, not too many people in the store, The security are lovely, even the trolley guy was kind!

Clean store, efficient layout, large aisles, kind staff, easy to access by car or public transport thanks to the multiple bus stops out front. Only downside is the liquor section is quite large, upfront of the store near the checkouts, & unavoidable unlike other countdowns.

Local supermarket for people loving around Papanui and Merivale. Alot of parking places. It also got Mall access , Convinent supermarket while you shopping at Northlands Mall.

I needed to have some info printed from my phone, I wasn't sure how to do this, having never done it before. I went to The Warehouse Stationery, which is now inside the big red Warehouse, which when you think about it, is a brilliant idea, and I can imagine there will many people, now and each day forward, happy about this, especially if you're a senior, no more big walks to complete two chores, brilliant staff help if you need it, as it was previously, that hasn't changed, great to see. I give Warehouse Stationery a big thumbs up on this change. Forward thinking, well done everyone concerned.

Awesome access around supermarket. Disabled parking at the door is squishy as they lack the extra lane between car parks. Supermarket lane ways are spacious enough for a manual wheelchair and a power wheelchair to pass by each other. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended

Whoever manages their stock needs a verbal warning. Whenever a product runs out it never turns up again. I once Seen products so old on the shelf they have mould in the packaging. Restock your pizza bases already

I used to shop online with New World until I kept finding that there were items missing when I unpacked at home so got put off by the whole idea. I’m now 34 weeks pregnant and cant be arsed walking around the aisles so thought I’d give click and collect one more go - but with Countdown this time. Everything went without a hitch and the lady that served us at the Customer Service desk was so lovely! Thank you for the exceptional service and nice fresh food :-)

Thank u to all the staff at northlands , u are just wonderful. But especially the pharmacy staff, amazing help and support. I have been fighting breast cancer all year and have had lots of medications, the explanations and empathy just made me feel special. I won’t be shopping anywhere else for my pharmacy or shopping needs. Arohanui suzie hynam

I find a wide choice of brands and the store brand has products of very good quality and performance. The Northlands store is well illuminated and it gives the illusion of natural light. The aisles are wide and it has operators and self check outs. It appears the wait for help at self checkout is not sufficient, leaving one wonder if operator checkout is the way to go. Parking is available outside the main door, at the basement or at the mall carpark. Toilets are available at the mall.

New Zealand is serviced by two major supermarket groups each with a range of different titled stores. Countdown is part of one of these chains. It stocks a pretty extensive range of products at reasonable prices. They have the usual departments - butchery, bakery, green grocer, general groceries along with a range of specialist and international foods. As well there is a pharmacy. Check out offer full service, express and self service. At this Countdown there is often a queue for these. Today we used the self service and suffered the, unfortunately, not infrequent problem of staff intervention needed because apparently we has taken things out of the bagging area - which we had not. Rather spoilt the shopping experience.

Was disappointed today with Northland's lack the of help. I purchased half a hot roasted chicken from the deli. No insulated foil bags, lady was busy serving which is fine, no one else in sight. When I got to check out it had leaked grease onto can. I asked if I could have a cloth please, and was eventually given a thick paper towel. She then wanted to put it straight into my bags, I said no thanks it needs to go into a bag so it doesn't leak everywhere. After I paid, and I had other items, I asked for a bag to put it in, she begrudgingly gave a paper bag that was sitting there. I enquired about why there were not the proper insulated bags available but she didn't know. Seems to be their stock answer. Getting fed up with their decline in service to customers.

They seem to have what I want more than competitors (especially American items), though I prefer butchered meat and bakery items from some of the competitors.

They recently updated the produce sections layout and I absolutely love it, the baskets are adorable. This countdown is genuinely one of the nicer ones I've seen, and it's even well lit and cleaned nicely!

This one time visitor found the store hard to navigate. Where was the gluten free? Don't know. Clean and tidy and friendly check out. So there was some good.... Countdown stores are not uniform from store to store and it's very difficult to find stuff... A solution I'd like is a find my items app for my phone: type in eggs, find em in isle three. Type in A2 milk: find out this store doesn't stock it. The supermarket that gives away an app like that can monitor customer's likes needs, and difficulties with finding stuff. What a marketing tool for the supermarket. What a time saver for me! Think of the find the items games you could play with the kids! Mum's and caregivers would love it! Staff could take a break from walking people from isle to isle to find stuff.... Enough said.

Friendly staff, though one of the the staff didn't know where the Macro Veggeburgers were. However they did show me where they thought they should be; and after much searching I found them. Not very well displayed! But overall, lovely place to shop.

A supermarket connected to a mall. Parking will be a hassle in the weekends because there is also Pak N Save at the other end of the mall plus shoppers and cinema goers. So avoid this place during peak times.

This is my usual supermarket I come to weekly. It has everything I need for my family especially branding for baby needs. I like have they have recently become sustainable with getting rid of plastic bags which is a huge thing for the environment so we'll done.

Was disappointed to find that Northland's countdown no longer stock Punjas Breakfast Crackers . After 6 week's of checking only to find that the usual shelf where said Biscuits were displayed remained empty . Supervisor checked computer. These imported Fijian Crackers are delicious and should be on the top shelf where customers can find them. I am a kiwi who suggests that fellow kiwis sample these CRACKERS. Suggest that count down Northland's put soft drinks on bottom shelf instead of imported Fijian Crackers.

Spacious, attractive, well laid out and as for the people serving in the shops!!! They were all helpful, kind, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. In other words just a cross section of the beautiful Christchurch people.

standard countdown set out. parking is not as good as Northwood. northlands has self service and Northwood doesn't so take your pick but neither has wine specials as good as the supermarket in Bishopdale which of course is not a countdown.

The underground car park is arguably one of the best features of Countdown Northlands. There's almost always a park and easy exit to both Main North Road and Sawyers Arms Road.
