Fresh Choice supermarket in Merivale, its very special, there have many different kinds of salads in the cabinet, very fresh. Also there have some special staff that you can't find in other supermarkets.

As with other Fresh Choice supermarkets, this one has a great wine area, with a good range of wines otherwise unseen in most other-branded supermarkets. Also, the deli area is massive with a wide range of tempting product. The store itself is a tad on the expensive side but that's not unexpected - nevertheless there are bargains to be had.

Lots of parking, best meat in Christchurch and the section at the back of the store has a lot of hard to find international items. . .great store!

Can tend to be a little overpriced but its good for smaller shops if you live in the Area, had some annoyences of the staff closing 5-10 mins before the schecudled time but not more than once or twice in my year of visiting here. Overall a great supermarket with helpful and ethusiatic staff!

I had an incredibly annoying problem and no supermarkets would help me except Merivale Freshchoice. I have been looking all around Australia for Sam's Oats and they were all sold out. I found there were some available in this NZ store and gave them a call. Each interaction I had with them was respectful, helpful and concise. Over a couple of phone calls and emails I was able to get an order for exactly what I wanted. I was amazed at the customer service and how well the staff communicated, everything was smooth! I cannot praise this supermarket enough for taking on this unreasonable request! Thank you!

Good variety of products, people like Manu make this store like a family store. Manu goes out of the way to order in products for the customers, Fresh Choice lucky to have her on staff, she keeps the place organized, friendly, welcoming always a pleased to see the customers 😀

What I like about this store is the great range of products they have. Their international section is huge with some really interesting products. Staff are very helpful, but it is considerably more expensive than their Progressive counterpart Countdown. If your looking for a certain ingredients or more exotic foods then you should pay Fresh Choice Merivale a visit.🧀 They have a great range of Sujon berries.

Good choice of products. We also had some items from the deli. Pasta salad was very good. Pumpkin salad was a bit bland. Could use some spices. Vege lasagna was a miss. Potato does not belong in a lasagna! Tomato sauce in it was a quite sour puree. Very friendly staff. Quality wines for good prices.

Best range and quality choices with food. Exceptionally good value AND quality for money over any other competition. Only thing I could pick on is they don’t have much in the way of bone-in cuts of lamb, beef or goat. I have saved so much money here. If you go anywhere else you are paying over retail price for your food and it’s possible the quality won’t be as good. Worth driving out of your way for.

FreshChoice Supermarket Merivale is in Merivale Mall one of smaller, boutique malls in Christchurch, There are some really nice stores very upmarket brand-name retailers, the mall is always very clean and very visually appealing FreshChoice Supermarket has one of the best deli, bakery, fresh fish and meat displays you will find. Large selection of Asian foods wonderful wine selection too. Large parking at the back

Very nicely revamped in 2018 as part of the mall revamp project. Reasonably priced produce and goods. Great location in the centre of the mall, easy access from any part of the mall. Florist is located right at the check out, very well presented with beautiful flowers.

I like this store as it is small and friendly. There is a good range of products.

Max retail prices in an affluent area, they know you cant be arsed going up to northlands ,but has finally had a modern fit out. Some of the 'specials' had an insulting 1-cent saving upon closer inspection of the shelf price underneath the 'special' shelf ticket. Beware renting a rug doctor, the service desk supervisor made me pick tiny carpet hairs out of the brush head in front of puzzled customers with an razor sharp old fishing knife and a knitting needle before returning my deposit, a humiliating experience considering we had already cleaned it to better than when we picked it up. Genuinely awesome friendly minimum wage staff and an eclectic international food selection. Unintentionally comedic store detective would benefit from some dollar store groucho glasses to complete her look.

Bright cheerful place. There is plenty of variety on the shelves and a wonderful deli section and prices are not too bad either. If you are a coffee feind, try their coffee situated right inside the shop, the smell is devine. They could do with a bigger shop as the aisles are abit narrow. Situated inside Merivale Mall, the carpark is at the back of the mall.

Excellent staff, exquisite range of speciality foods. Upmarket. Slightly pricey, but occasionally has better discounts than the more mundane chains.

Unfortunately the Belgium biscuits, baked at Rangiora bakery were extremely dry and unpalatable. Had to throw them out. Salmon very expensive too at $59.50 a kilogram.

I live in Auckland and no where is there a supermarket with the amazing extensive range of gluten free and confectionary goods, not new world Victoria park nor countdown Ponsonby which are the best stores in Aucklsnd for gluten free goods. Fresh choice merivale is nothing short of the best supermarket in NZ in my opinion, I have to stockpile goods to bring home but they never last long. GF cream puffs, sausage rolls, pies, biscuits galore, Finns fudge, queen Ann chocolates, Jon Jon cookies, alff bakery goods.
