Nice clean shop. Make sure you check your docket though. Was charged $7.50 for a bag of apples which were $4. Not the first time I have been overcharged.

Came in one evening with my two daughters and the weather was wet but all goods for me and my children. Scanned the QR code and sanitized our hands before entering and doing the weekly grocery run plus treats for my children. Staff were friendly and happy at that time of night. Thank you 😊 from a new family from Christchurch city.

Lovely staff at self-checkout who have a lovely smile☺️ A bit quiet today, they have set up the 2 metres mark for Covid. Bread and toilet paper still have tons of stock, no panic buying. Dunedin you did very well!

Most staff are friendly and acknowledge customers. Senior staff should refrain from having discussions with their staff about performance on the shop floor. Usually I can get everything I need.

Well laid out supermarket, decent range of items. Ummm, how do you even rate a supermarket? Nothing jumps out at me like a standout over other supermarkets. Has tidy premises and the staff are okay, not great but not bad. Parking isn't quite what you'd expect for a supermarket that serves a large suburban area like south Dunedin, but if you time it right it's fine. There is a lotto outlet on site which kills two birds with one stone if you're into that. But yeah, just another supermarket. 4 stars.

The staff are awesome. Friendly and helpful and inclusive. They are well priced. Parking never a problem. No long queues even during holidays.Plenty of stock on the shelves.

The guy checking ID for alcohol purchases was a bit stuck up. The police and every bar in town have no problem with my drivers licence being a bit scratched. This guy thought it was the end of the world. Came across as a power tripping bell end. Especially considering he looked like he wasn't even born when my licence was issued. It's one bottle of beer with midweek groceries, why you care so much dude?

Interesting that this Countdown is cheaper than the Countdown along Andy Bay rd. Always friendly, from lotto on. Good range of goods; and specials appreciated as pensioners nearly 75. Parking great. We find it better to shop there than 'own' Port Chalmers' supermarket. They nice too but up to 20% dearer. Cheers, Duncan

A magical supermarket that allows my Landlady and I to have fun and laugh as we shop. We both have pain conditions of 1 or more types. By the time we get to the checkout both are nearing or at our pain threshold. I'm sure they get a giggle at our attempts to keep the pain levels down e.g. She has a push seat which she frequently sits in not only for a rest but as a General organising her force of 2 soldiers in the battle to fill the trolly and pay for our items. I push the trolly to keep myself off the ground, rather like a baby walker as they learn to walk. They let me skip the check out so that I can sit outside often mumbling under my breath about pain. The items are so well set out and consistently in the same place. Our shopping list is usually also in that order. On the odd occasion that we can't find something the staff are so fantastically helpful and polite. Which must be hard when we're laughing and joking. Often at some rediculous thing that only we understand. The quality of product is wonderful, frequently cheaper than Pack & Slave and with the shop card we got $10 of our petrol at BP last week. We can only thank Pack & Slave for the unwarranted trespass order against 1 of us or we would never have gone there because we thought they were just another version of the Elite Over Priced New World who would never put up with our laughter for fear of upsetting the upper crust of Dunedin and those who simple have far too much money to spend. Veg section is very fresh. Cheese section is to die for. Sadly, no supermarket can compare with MAD BUTCHER but they do have a few surprises there both in price and quality. My only suggestion for improvement is the cost and variety of fish. Though their Salmon section is sublime. So thank you Countdown for providing us 2 Wonky Donkeys to enjoy our shopping once sometimes twice a week. You make our day. Reward us with cheap petrol. Provide excellent fresh food. We both have skills in team building. Team training staff, staff and dept management, senior management and oh yes cooking. If you ever want a free hand or demo give us a call. Or talk to us in the shop. All you will need to organise is a school or some such kitchen and items from the shop. A donation to the school usually covers cost facilities and the items vary depending on what type of training you wish for. I enjoy the quiet hour of shopping very much. Should be extended in my opinion. I buy organic wherever possible and they are unreliable providers. Apart from that all is well. Staff are well trained on the whole, helpful and polite. Good parking.

The staff here are incredible! They have hearts and go out of their way to to make a stress free shopping environment. They now have an hour on Wednesdays designed for people on the autistic spectrum to shop with dimmed lights, no music, till noises turned off so no beeps. AWESOME!!!

This is where I shop 90% of the time. It's always well stocked & clean. The checkout staff are always friendly. I often order online & pickup (which makes life SO easy!) & nothing's ever a problem. I very rarely shop anywhere else & will drive out to South Dunedin just to get my groceries from here!

This was maybe the 2nd time I have been there; I was picking up an online order. The customer service was excellent, very friendly staff who dealt with a slight hick-up most efficiently. There's plenty of parking, and trolley returns. The store is well lit and the aisles aren't cramped. Overall I'm very impressed.

Prices have gone up a little recently. Trust me to shop when the specials were mostly absent going into Queens Birthday weekend. Other than that, a good selection of products and I got most of what I wanted.

This branch of Countdown is the better one in the area, being of a large enough size and stocked with a good amount and variety of products. Lighting is good, aisles are wide and clean, and on the other end, even has homeware, clothing and other home needs. Definitely a great time shopping here!

The better of the two Countdown's in South Dunedin. Produce is ok - prices for fresh fruit and veges can be quite steep. Selection here is far better than the other South Dunedin store. Deli section can be quite short on some meats sometimes but aside from that it's a pretty standard supermarket with everything you need from Fresh Veges to Frozen stuff.

Has most of what you need. Large signs over aisles aren't very helpful though, and not every major item type has wee signs over them. I needed some cumin but there is no signage for spices - only found them because I happened to be walking past the right end of the aisle.
