My go to place for everything. New store looks great! Brilliant selections at both the deli and bakery which are both manned. Nice layout through the vegetable and fruit section to the meats. Having a section just for alternative foods, eg dairy free is brilliant, although it would be great to have a bit more option of brands. Always friendly and helpful staff.

I must say how good the service is at the Gisborne Countdown. I made two visits during my stay and the staff were very chatty, helpful and courteous. I also thought I had left my dark glasses and phoned to see if they had been found. Paul answered the phone and was very concerned and helpful. Thank you Paul and your fellow workers for adding to a great stay in Gisborne.

I'm a local and been shopping since it was Woolworth. I rate my experience at countdown as a 4 as I can buy products that have disappeared from other shops. Most of the staff are willing to help you and hopefully if a product is not available will follow up on the next delivery for me. Thank you..

I really like alot of the staff at the Gisborne Countdown Supermarket. The staff are always kind, helpful. I find that Countdown always has the supply to meet the demand of it's customers, I don't feel the same for Pak N Save Supermarket in Gisborne though

Waited around for 10 minutes for my online ordered groceries. Kind of defeats the purpose, I could have done most my shopping in that time. Otherwise just an average countdown. Their gentlemen checkers could learn how to bag groceries better though. Heavy stuff on top of fruit and that kind of thing...

Not bad for a small town outlet. Major outlet franchises need to eliminate the sale of individually plastic wrapped food items like corn on the cob and apple slices. No use in losing plastic shopping bags if this continues.

I think their roast chickens must have a superior MSG content, because they always seem to taste better. Variety of products and stock can vary unexpectedly. Staff are always friendly and professional. Occasionally they will have very good discounts for non perishable items that you can stock up on

Well stocked with the usual range of stock. Well laid out and sensible arrangement of ailes and stock. Fairly easy to fin d things even if you are not familiar with the layout. Staff always very friendly and helpful

Great supermarket for all your shopping with plenty of savings to be made. Countdown stock the complete range of foodstuffs you would expect along with a big selection of soft and alcoholic drinks including a huge selection of quality wines to choose from. There is a large range of fresh fruit and vegetables with a good section of fruit juices. The bakery section sells a variety of bread and rolls to suit everybody's taste. The usual domestic products are on display and it's easy to find what you are looking for. A good place to shop in Gisbourne. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Countdown NZ Gisborne has one of the most popular supermarkets. It is a special place because it has great specials available every week. Not only do they have specials their service is great, what more can you ask for. And oh, by the way they have on line shopping with a delivery service or pick up at leisure your own groceries. They also have convenient parking. I enjoy shopping there because they have everything and anything you want.

Kia ora, I'm a disability beneficiary and I pride myself on good practices with a little touch of common sense, and Countdown Gisborne have got it right. Parking plenty of them, wide enough to get in and out. And the staffing from the trolling person thru to floor staff wen looking for anything to the checkout process, for me personally top notch, helpful, go out of their way, U couldn't ask for more.

I was at the checkout, and wanting to make sure I hit the $200 target for the great fuel savings, I realised I would be about $5 short. Dashed to the deli, 20m away, to grab some ham, chicken pre sliced packs, only to find they had moved them... grrr. Thinking about it now, I realised that a lot of things were not where they were previously, so annoying. Especially when you are on a quick stop and only need two or three items.
