Decent supermarket, honestly just need to employ more staff as they are putting a lot of work on the people there. Great service from all the staff there!

Positives - there is a great range of reasonable quality fruit and veg. They stock some quite hard to find items which is fantastic! Negatives - shelves are very slowly restocked so you miss out on the items you need. However the worst issue with the store is the constantly closed checkouts, resulting queues while staff stand around watching. Very frustrating.

A BIG THANK YOU to Countdown Greymouth. Thus morning I visited the store and purchased a small amount of items. When I got home I opened some Camenbert cheese. It was quite visibly off. I took it back into the store and they replaced it without question. The wonderful surprise was that they also gave me a refund. I said that I didn't want the refund, but the Supervisor said it is store policy to also give a refund. I had my cheese so I put the $4.80 in the donation box on the counter. Thank you Countdown, your staff made my day today.

Isn't it better to reduce prices than throw food that doesn't sell in the waste skip. As petrol is getting expensive people that work carnt buy food which is getting unafordable

Great staff small shop but had everything you need

Great countdown store! Some great vegan items as well in the freezer including Gardein. Vegan cheeses as well!

They have choices of Woolworths products that I like and used to buy in Aus. They do have notable and unjustified price creep on even budget items, and some good deals on special items. The store (Greymouth) where I shop seems to be inconsistent with their stocking policies. The checkout staff are under resourced, and you must help them with packing your own bags. They do have some interesting imported stock lines, which makes shopping there interesting.

Helpful pleasant staff. Well organised shop.

Couldn't get cold wine unless sparkling and I couldn't buy lotto as after 6PM.

In all it was good service,. I went in to pick up my click and collect what a great idea. On arriving I go to the click and collect area get told I have to go to the customer care counter, get there and. Get told I have to go to click and collect ,I explain they sent me here I turn to go there then I hear this lady call out from the express check out I'm here and will be there in a minute. She finds me and we get my items from fridge and find my order in a trolly. I say thank you and leave. All stall gave good service

Service at check out perfect. But butchery not impressed at all, bought schnitzel about two months ago and it was about 3/4" thick, complained to head butcher and he said he would speak to boys. Went back a couple of days ago, thinking that they would know how to cut schnitzel, but no, still just a hunk of meat crumbed. Very disappointed. Love the rest of the store.

Amazing difference after a real shocker at New World at Greymouth the local girls in the delicatessen were a superb breath of fresh air. Bubbly and full of smiles nothing was too much trouble a plus was the food was excellent. Recommended !!!

Great shop. Cheap steaks and the deli counter is to die for. Cheese and wine also affordable. Can get a great meal for ten dollars if you can cook in your camper 😃

Quick shop for us, hubby help young lady with 2 toddlers plus her 2 trolly loads of booze she was having trouble with, then he helped her with them to her vehicle very pleased she was. She has a stall at Agfest.

Went shopping at Countdown for my weekly supplies of groceries and pet food. Have found the staff to be always obliging and polite in spite of some of the clientele there. Countdown has regular special deals, and some product lines which are imported via their Australian connections which makes it interesting to go to. The pricing is mainly competitive but chiefly I go there because they have a greater scope of variety on offer. I think the staff there makes the key difference. I could pick on products that may not always be the best, but these are the exceptions. Thanks Countdown.

Trying vege mango cashew salad ..... Disappointed countdown is no longer recycling soft plastic but isn't reducing it's packaging either. Showing people to take in their own containers is good but there onus of responsibility needs to be taken by Woolworths

The shop is easily identifiable, even visible from the bridge over the Grey River. Parking is shared with The Warehouse. Produce is good and lanes well organised. As a bonus, staff were very friendly.
