I do like shopping at Countdown but I will admit I am sharing the love with New World too. Lately I have been doing online shopping with Countdown but I am not too happy that they no longer accept gift cards online and no explanation has been given. The free fruit for kids is a fantastic initiative especially after school. The staff in general are very nice and helpful. There is a pharmacy inside the store with a pharmacist. The prices are good and I love their multiple deals.

Lovely and clean with great displays of fresh produce and wonderful meal ideas, helpful staff as I was having one of those days and I was lucky enough to be assisted twice by the same staff member who was very friendly and knowledgeable. I go there because it's the only supermarket that always has the catfood our cats love. Friskies salmon Pate. Soooo hard to get it at other stores. 5 for $7 atm. Great deal!!!

Really helpful and friendly staff who really wanted to assist customer. Clean and bright on the inside. Plenty parking out in front. Not park of Mall so you don't have to compete with other store shoppers for parking. This is a large size store so has eveyrthing you need. The reason dmfor 4/5 stars is because this store can have empty shelves more often than New World down the road. Whoch I had to get into my can to complete my shopping. This was even so before their recent strike at the distribution centre. The "Buyer" of this is site should really monitor stock levels closely and anticipate market demands and unforseen circumstances. Still recommending others to visit the place.

This is a large and luxurious supermarket in a nice location opposite Te Awa at The Base. There is an unusually wide selection available and even an in-store pharmacy. The car park is expansive but can sometimes be awkward to access.

This store is a great supermarket. They have a great selection of wine and a huge beer cooler. The meats are always fresh and fairly reasonably priced. They have hard to find favorites like jalapenos and full sized packages of oreos and every flavor of kit kats you can dream of. It's well organized and clean.

Crowded. Shop somewhere else if you can. Check out lines can be long here. Small bakery and delicatessen area and aisles are long but narrow. Children running everywhere and people not sharing the space properly. Self checkout manager was cool, didnt scold me and informed me of the store policy with not taking the store cart out of the store, and gave me a paper bag instead. Except for the check out manager I'd go somewhere else

One of the better Countdowns in Hamilton with the built in Pharmacy being a great touch. I've found that this has the widest range of stock compared to the other Hamilton Countdowns, In very close proximity to The Base. Ample parking as expected.

This store keeps itself well stocked and always has fresh produce and items in the bakery. A large range of things to choose from and the self-serve express checkouts are great to use. However, staff are not always helpful, I guess it depends on who you get on the day. One major downside is there is no restroom or public toilet

Pointless kids parking spaces is the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars Parking is in the main entrance and really dangerous when unloading toddlers. The service and range is good even in the Covid age Would like to see more eco packaging in the fruit and vegetable section.

Great place for shopping or quick stops. I was really impressed with the staff helping at the self service checkout. They came and helped me with sorting out quantities of heavier items which means I only had to scan one heavy item instead of 6. They really made things easier to deal with. Shopping there is awesome because it's close to home. It's usually packed when I go which must be a good thing. It's kiwi owned and operated. It has awesome helpful staff and tempting bakery food. Impressive meat, sea food and deli departments.

Great experience to do your grocery shopping. Vast range of brands when you shop here. Prices vary, some savings but, that's up to you, see what's on special. Massive floor space of food to select from.

Feels like an over sized four square. There isn't exactly and big selection compared to most supermarkets in Hamilton but for a quick shop after visiting The Base it's very convenient. The prices are standard and same with the service. There isn't much to say about it but that it's about what you except from a Countdown.

Very conveniently situated by the Te Awa the Base shopping centre. Which means easily grabbing groceries on the way home. Full range of fresh fruit and veg and all your other countdown products. A public toilet is there although not signposted u must ask. They have self serve and standard checkouts. And plenty of car parking. I also regularly see product displays and samples aswell as charity collections s and sausage sizzles which shows they support they community.

countdown is well.placed for grabbing those last minute groceries after a shop at the base. only one problem is the entry to the carpark is so close to the parking it creates a bottleneck . take extra care and be patient when parking. The super market is well stocked and has friendly helpful staff. You can also do click and collect which i torally recommend.

I went to buy cooking oil but I couldn't find it. I walked across the front of the aisles 3 times looking for the signs listing cooking oils or baking needs but had no luck at finding either of these. I cut my visit short & asked my checkout operator where the cooking oil was located? She looked at the signs & could only come up with aisle 4 or 5. So I said I would try again tomorrow which I will do but at the Nawton/ Grandview C/D which is closer to my home & I'm more familiar with it's layout.

Countdown is the new name for Woolworths NZ. It is apparent when you see Homebrand and Essentials brands. Always a good range of groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables. The specials are worth following, but check on 'use by' dates on items like yoghurt. Friendly checkout staff and good to children. Free fruit for the kids.
