This is my main supermarket I go to weekly. The customer service most are very lovely and helpful, my fathers friend of many years also works here and is a very kind considerate person. Will always love this little supermarket xx

Great produce section with fresh Fruit & Vegetables, not many places i would recommend over these products, but this place has so far sold the best, we've gotten so far, Cabbage lasted over a week, eaten and stored in the fridge. Baby products were fairly cheap is well, surprisingly!!!! Use to spending $80+ on Formula, Nappies, Pull Ups etc.... Only spent less than $50 on all.

I went to Countdown to pick up a few things - I was able to find everything I needed - the staff were helpful and Non judgemental when I Really messed up the Self service machine - It wasn't a big deal for them and I was sorted out very quckly by a friendly staff member

Always shop here. It's clean they have sanitize area if you want to, the staff are great specially the self-serve guys, they are friendly, fast, always on the ball. I've never seen them standing around looking like nothing to do. They're ALWAYS busy and keep them lines moving. Last night I left my ph at the checkout and the guy came to my truck to give it back. Thank him so much and big ups team.

It was raining when I visited. Just as well my disabled mother did come with me as most of disabled parks were taken by those who didnt have a disability parking permit. Do people not realised that people pay for permits!!. Supermarkets should be policing and slapping a sticker on cars parking without permits in disability parking spaces.

Can always find what i need here, usually has items you can't find at "yellow" supermarkets, this one in particular is usually pretty quiet so you can be in and out quickly. Slightly shabby on the outside but it's what's on the inside that counts. It does get busy around the holidays as per the norm with other supermarkets too.

Nice friendly helpful staff usually. Have changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars due to the two rude girls in the deli today. There body language and behaviour came across as though they thought I was an annoyance getting in the way of their work. Fingers x better service there next time.

One of the items I purchased on the 18/10 had expired on the 1/10, I phoned customer services and spoke to Hannah who said j could come in have a refund and replace for free, she also ensures the other dated stock was removed from shelves Well done countdown for handling that well and efficienctly

Always calm and relatively quiet, so you can concentrate - and it's spacious and well stocked. Staff are always friendly. The most relaxing place I've ever found to do my grocery shopping.

Service going through self serve is nearly always unfriendly. The supervisors could try hello, looking to see if lights are on and a friendly smile wouldn't hurt either. I'm almost to the point of changing supermarkets as they mostly make you feel like in imposition on their time.

Countdown Anglesea has a super annoying habit of closing the checkouts at the busiest times of day. Forcing customers to use the self service lanes. I understand their overworked and underpaid staff need a break, but it's almost like the store managers don't even shop here. Other than that, clean store, friendly staff, and average to higher priced products. Also check the original price when comparing the sale price, its not always cheaper.

When I'm in Hamilton, 10days every 6weeks, I always shop at Countdown, Anglesea Street. The staff are great and very approachable for any help I need. Produce is fresh and we'll presented. The store is kinda old school and has beaut wide isles. I never feel under any pressure or as if I'm in someone's way in this store.

Good for chicken feed thats all we go for too pricey otherwise not good service through self service checkouts from older lady when i got my chick feed bags I have an arm that hurts from repetive arm usage she got frustrated and angry when i asked her can i come through here without having to scan these heavy bags as thats how they do it at the other checkouts and her attitude was like she thought i was lazy as she yanked one out to scan it and just about swiped my head as I was trying to get one out then stormed off! This is disgusting customer service!

Large supermarket with a good range of groceries. I think it's a little more expensive than paknsave across the road but surely has a much larger range. Having the Waitomo Gas Station in its car park is a real plus; I filled up with 91 for $2.04 the other day when everywhere else was $2.14 up.

My fave supermarket in Hamilton because it's quiet. Parking is easy, waitomo fuel next door is a bonus. Although they are currently doing renovations which is not ideal as now I don't know the layout off the top of my head :( hate when supermarkets move things on me, even if it makes sense... I battle anxiety so for me the familiarity of the layout and not being crazy busy and loud are really important. I hope to learn the new layout quickly

Countdown has a much small fresh vegetables and poultry corner than Pak n Save. However, it has a larger collection of Asian items. So if you are cooking up an asian dish this is the place to go. In terms of pricing, I would say it is as competitive as Pak n Save. Frankly you probably get some items cheaper here and some cheaper there. It's hard to say depending on the promotions they have. Even if there is a price different it is pretty negligible.
