Haven't been there for a while. They've made the layout better particularly the veggie area. I think that the addition of the self-checkout has allowed for a helpful rearrangement.

management need to train their checkout supervisors. I saw a man who used a WINZ green card obviously in hardship and to suffer the embarrassment of being taken to task over his untidy signature over $12.00 of goods? while everyones watching? I could see he wasn't too perturbed over it so I took photos of his purchase and said "its all good, this will go viral mate" he tried several times to get it exactly right according to the match on the card -WHO GETS THEIR SIGNATURE EXACT EVERY TIME??? in the end the Indian girl had to get her supervisor to check it? what a fuss! over $12.00???? anyhu onto the review -The mark up is a still bit cheeky compared to other NWs in this region for common products . Couple of things in their favour is the really helpful staff and variety of non standard stock and imported products : Georgia you saved this rating & others have been amazing she went to a lot of trouble to find a tub of my fav icecream! The queue used to be ridiculous most days I once said the owners need to attack this persistent problem here and they've added 6 more self serve checkouts before Xmas 2021! excellent thankyou. never have to wait at this Spmkt ever since can't believe the difference and its actually a pleasure to shop here now. nicely done Richard 💖👍

Usually the place I go to grab a few things for smoko as we’re just across the road, the bakery inside wow really yum sausage rolls, sandwiches and rolls. Staff there are great and always friendly. New self checkouts that they added so it’s a bit more quicker.

Beautiful store, busy store, huge santa outside, I just do not believe santa needs a mask..... he always stays his distance while.delivering presents, this I know as one of his elves..... great produce, young maori lady In deli is very polite and friendly, not the cheapest supermarket, but I think that's why they have the customers they do.

With great regret. I've changed my review of this particular New World. I rated this establishment highly before my most recent visit. Revisited & reaccessed. Im disappointed with service & attitude. 1st disappointment. Online shopping and click and collect. I was disappointed with the Lack of communication & organisation. No online groceries packed and waiting. I ended up shopping for my own groceries. 2nd disappointment was A particular product I purchased ( Lice cream) was mocked by a store attendant. I approached & asked for help to find this product. Wish I had asked for her name. I was just annoyed & getting Abit upset with her attitude. Which was eww yuk & she didn't want to help me. She obviously doesn't have kids. Attitude needs to change. Otherwise it'll reflect onto the company. I do like location and most products they have in this store. Bit more expensive than most other New Worlds I've shopped at. I guess the attitude presented to me and the prices are a reflection on the area. It's a well to do area.

We are on holiday, just arrived in Havelock and decided to pick up food treats for our hosts. We put a few things in our basket and headed to towards the checkout only to find that there was a LONG queue right across the entrance way to all the checkouts. It went from the self serve area to the far wall. We were non plussed. We'd never seen anything like it in any supermarket in NZ or overseas. We thought it might be for the self service section so we started to turn towards a checkout but we're swiftly reprimanded by a woman who was very upset that we were jumping the queue! As we made our way towards the end of the line I asked a woman to explain the logic of it and she couldn't because like us she was a visitor and didn't understand it either. At the back of the queue were two women, one a visitor from Christchurch and they didn't get it either. Apparently people pealed off the queue to a checkout as they neared them. So we decided it was a cross cultural experience in our own country and the reason for it was known only to the natives.

By comparison with it's Hastings competitors, NW HN is a very pleasant intimate supermarket. Probably the best fruit and veges, as well as meat and fish in Hawkes Bay. But they a come with a PRICE. If money is no object, go4it.

Love the gluten free & raw products here. Huge range & easy to find. Also love tumeric latte product in coffee aisle. Sometimes I think it would be nice if there was a bit more space in the produce as it can seem quite crammed in sometimes.

New World attempts a boutique supermarket, for an admittedly fairly well-to-do suburb. The range of almost everything is good, but the prices here are very high. If carefully-trimmed cuts of meat and a strong range of local wines are your thing then you've come to the right place. If you are on a budget then you should drive to Pak'n'Save Hastings. Lovely staff though....

The layout is open and easy to find your way around. The staff although not unpleasant do not always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The prices aren't always terrific but the amount of stock is great.

Extremely over priced,Often they have tickets up with promotional prices, yet when you scan the product it quite often pops up with original price. I always check my receipts and will return to get money back .obviously Havelock North people have far to much money and little time .produce very fresh but stiff competition with all the private Vege places close by.

I have tried and tested each and every type of large store in different areas of New Zealand and I have never received the help, the courtesy that the Havelock North branch of your store provide. The food, albeit fruit veges meat bakery etc. All are fresh and of the highest standard. I do recommend this bran ch to all my friends. I am elderly and the staff pack my groceries evenly taking into account the weight. Furthermore they will offer to load the bags into my csr.

New world havelock north has everything we need, we find things easily, it's our local and is a pleasant place to shop.... aside for one thing! The security guard/ trolley boy is inappropriate, rude, makes unnecessary comments and behaves inappropriately. We have had several unprovoked incidents where he has caused problems with us to the point where unfortunately a few of our family members no longer shop there. It could be possible this man is in the wrong field of work.

This New World might not look like much from the outside, but its beauty lies in the wide range of products it carries - exotic foods such as snail and Mexican spices, freeze-dried raspberries, and an abundance of fresh local produce. I'd move to Hastings just to shop at that New World, fo sho.
