Staff were cheerful and happy. Steak was well worth the price. Gotta try the cashew cream, great alternative to dairy

Have been a customer for many years, even since the time before this new Countdown supermarket was built. Positive: A good range of products, including organic food. Some specials are making up for the disadvantage of the oligopoly market in NZ. Negative: The Covid-19 handling of the access control at the market entrance that I experienced on 16 December 2021 during "RED" traffic light system. To me it seemed that this access control only had a token function. Inside the market I saw 2 families with a bunch of roaming children not wearing masks, in one case even the parents had no masks. There was no distancing at all. For me as a vulnerable person this shopping experience was appalling.

A lot of lines were not in stock or very limited the day I was there and the security guard told me that changed daily during lockdown it did not help me as I had traveled 45 minutes by car to shop at my nearest supermarket (was I expected to repeat my shoping on moltable days to fill my order I went elsewhere)
