Enjoyed an absolutely stunning day out with my daughter had so much fun figuring out the clues and gathering our goodies. Loved the activities, loved that Phillipa supported other local businesses in the area. The picnic left us full and happy and the view at the last point was amazing. Couldn't recommend this enough. You will not be disappointed.

Received the Mystery Picnic as a birthday present, not knowing what to expect, hence, the name I was really impressed. Visiting very local spots around Matakana it was great to explore the region and actually visit some new places (not the very touristy spots). Picnic items were delicious and super high quality. Would recommend to others! Note: Best to make sure you allocate the whole day to the trip as can spend more time in each destination.

What an incredible service. We had a newborn baby so instead of doing the whole picnic experience in Matakana Philippa so kindly packaged everything beautifully and sent it to our home. Everything was divine and it was such a treat to see lots of local Matakana products included. So many lovely touches and Village Picnic go above and beyond to create a special experience and memories. Thanks again

The village picnic experience was provided as a birthday gift from my sister. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the day out experiencing Matakana and the surrounding region. We enjoyed solving the problems to find our next location of interest and finished the day enjoying our picnic looking out over the water to Kawau Island. It was a fantastic day.

With heavy winds the night before and a storm set to hit, the weather was not looking like a good day for a picnic. However, we forged ahead with fingers crossed we would not get stuck in a downpour. We arrived at the pickup point and was notified of a power cut in town but was reassured that it could still be a fun day out. Skeptical but still trying to stay positive, we set out on our adventure. The puzzles were challenging with our friend 'Google' helping a lot and the people at the stops were extremely nice & friendly. Other then a few spouts of rain & it being quite windy at times, we managed to have a great family day out with some yummy food!

Had an incredible time!!! What a fantastic idea. We had 2 teenagers and an 8 year old and all were thoroughly entertained the whole day. Great level of clues and amazing food and places to visit. Will definitely be purchasing in the future for gifts. Highly recommend!

This was bought as a birthday present for my husband. We had no idea what it was or what it was all about. We booked a weekend stay in Matakana and included a couple of friends and off we went. First stop was to pick up the first bits and the clues. Following riddles and puzzles etc. We went to different places picking up bits along the way. What a cool experience, it took us about 4 1/2 hours, went to some lovely places and did different activities. We also just took our time to enjoy the places, getting picnic chairs out to sit on the beach and have a drink part way through. We all throughly enjoyed it, if you do this book the day out, take the time to chat to the awesome people along the way and enjoy the scenery and experience. Would definitely do it again if they change the clues/places etc. A lot of fun and something so different.

We had the most amazing day out and really enjoyed the Mystery Picnic! It was so fun figuring out all the clues and driving around beautiful Matakana. We enjoyed every stop and how well it was organised. The picnic spread at the end was so yummy - we couldn't have asked for anything more, such a fun day :)

A great day out! We received a starters pack with yummy things and started our trip: solving puzzles/clues, picking up other items, exploring Matakana and surrounding beaches and bays, did a lovely walk, all well organised by Philippa. Can highly recommend.

Philippa was so amazing, right from the beginning! I had trouble with my credit card being from outside of New Zealand so I reached out her - she got back to me immediately and helped me move forward. She continued to stay in contact throughout the whole process, including sending pictures of the final hamper and coordinating a gift message and overall style. The end result was beautiful and felt so personalized and thoughtful! We really wanted to make our recipients feel special, and this hamper did just that. Really lovely experience and something a bit different! Enjoyed going out and about around Matakana and surrounding areas, great way to support multiple local businesses and find some great spots that you wouldn't otherwise find! Not too hard, nice half day outing to get out of Auckland.

I ordered a hamper for my parents wedding anniversary. Philippa was amazing to deal with, brilliant service. The hamper was presented in a beautiful wooden box will top quality local produce and a few extra personal touches. Philippa made it so easy to organise this remotely. I would definitely use her services again.

This was a great day out we got a chance to go to places we had not seen before. We left Auckland at 8.30 and we got back home at 6.30p.m We took our time and really explored. A fun day out.

Thanks for a really nice day out. We really enjoyed the tasty picnic spread, especially visiting the various artisans to collect it along the way. Some beautiful new spots with incredible views we have never been to and it’s right on Auckland doorstep!

Philippa and VIllage Picnic are a fantastic team. They absolutely nailed my wife's surprise birthday gifts. The cake, nibbles and champagne were perfectly chosen, delivered on time and all within a reasonable budget. I wanted to organize a picnic basket for my pregnant wife to be delivered... straight after the delivery 😅... a basket with all the goodness my wife had to stop eating/drinking during these 9 months. Philippa has been incredible to work with, kind, precise and extremely supportive. She helped me create the perfect gift and she kept in touch with me even during the entire length of the labour so she could drop the basket off at the perfect time. Trusting someone to put together a hamper for your loved ones is really hard - so I contacted Village Picnic before placing an order. Phillipa got back to me really quickly and asked me some questions to help create the perfect hampers for both of the recipients. Not only were the two hampers absolutely suited for them individually - Phillipa went out of her way to deliver early on Father's Day morning for me. They were both over the moon with the personal touches in the hampers and the quality of the items that were selected just for them.
