Clean, well spaced rows,. Has all the major brands, well layed out for ease of finding what your looking for. Never been to this store before yesterday. Friendly staff and offer to help as soon as you look at them; That was just amazing. Will make a point to drop in again when passing through in the future.

This New World is massive, heaps of room for people and there trolleys. Heaps of foods and a great produce and meat selection and fresh fish. There is something for everyone, staff are great and very helpful. Counters are wiped down after each customer, and I'd around 98 persons were wearing masks. Heaps of parking outside, you gotta go have a browse and all items are an ideal price. Great store. 03.01.2022 Hi all I went shopping in Matamata at the big New World. I got great specials on meat and veges which made me happy. I live on a small budget and I got all I needed so I went home happy. Plus everyone wore masks yipee which makes life easier for all of us. Plenty of parking as well. Hey I also got some dried pawpaw what a treat ooh and mussels omg yummy. Go and have a look

I was more than pleased to see New World Matamata, with staff outside shop door, checking people to sign in (OR App) use hand sanitizers, wearing masks, and to leave their shopping bags outside. Staff did this with Jovial professionalism, made everybody happy, not only to be in Level 2, but to tow the line to prevent outbreaks occuring. Good on you New World Matamata.

I just returned to Aussie after living in Matamata for a year and feel the need to post a super review for New World. In all my life I have never been to a supermarket that is full of such friendly staff. I loved all the middle aged ladies at the checkouts in there. Well done New World.

We have brought 2 bacon hocks there in last 2 weeks and both have turned. So annoying.

Clean and tidy. Great number of car park spaces available. Good range of products. Good open hours. Staff seem reasonably friendly at checkout compared with other NW stores I've been to. Compared to Matamata Countdown, presentation of store is more inviting here.

Awesome New World. When we were there some time ago we were served by a Canadian girl, (I think Sonnet) she was awesome at her job, chatty, happy and just a lovely person!!!!

A good short stop for travelers from Auckland to Rotoroa. They have a good bakery with a good range of fresh products. There's also a collection of hot food ready to eat.

The best pies ever, much better than most award winning pies. I should know cause I love pies and eat them wherever I go. These pies are 9.5 out of 10, they would be 10 if they brought them out to my car.

They have really delicious pies and sausage rolls in the instore bakery. Clean and tidy store

Wow it has had a big revamp....just super....haven't called in for ages. Aisles seem wider, more colorful environment - very appealing, clean and busy. Wide selection of food, but the vege/fruit section needs to be bigger as more than a dozen shoppers with trolleys is crowded and traffic jams ensue!!

I don't shop there I use to work there I got fired bronwyn Keaton lied I swore at a shopper but it's all good revenge belongs to God

Great grocery store..... most of the time their prices are cheap and shelves stocked..... I prefer doing my shopping at new world..... staff are lovely and always ask how ur day is going or how u r doing..... love the layout they have put out for the shelves..... however they need to stop moving the nuts around as it's so hard to find them sometimes..... other than that I do recommend to do groceries there.....

Medium sized store. Pretty well stocked. Great Gravity coffee outlet, meat, deli & fish counters. Not enough checkouts open at peak times (5-6pm) - long queues.

Its a great store, lots to choose from and has a good deli, staff are helpful and friendly.

Fresh produce and friendly staff but today as I went for a quick shopping trip with my kids, 2 staff members were super rude to one of my kids. As my eldest was driving the trolley and as we went into the baking aisle there were the 2 staff members having a chat, my daughter said "excuse me" 3 times and they still didn't move so she tried to not hit the trolley that had a bunch of boxes, she accidentally hit the trolley and apologized immediately but the staff members didn't accept her apology, instead one of them said "I hope you somehow get your driver's license." And then they laughed! I was furious and my daughter was about to cry and it wasn't her fault, it was their fault because they didn't move in the first place!

It's always the staff that are the most lasting impression of a store. New World Matamata should be very proud of the way their employees represent store. They are always cheerful and very helpful. We were there a few days ago, going about the store as usual when one of the staff (who was obviously off to take her break) came up to us and said excuse me but I noticed that your container sea food has popped open, here I'll close it for you, we said our thanks and with a smile off she went. Today I stopped in to pickup a few things. After getting back to the motorbike I realised that I had dropped one of my gloves. I went back to look for it, not bing able to find it and asking at the checkouts I went back to bike. One of the staff came out and asked if I could wait until she checked with the produce and butcher's departments, next thing she was back with a smile and my glove.oh and they have a great selection of goods.
