I go for our once a fortnight shop to this store I appreciate the gold card discount what I don't appreciate is the empty shelves of the most ordinary stuff.I was told that they haven't got enough staff to keep up. Hire more.!! The staff though are friendly and helpful..

I always find the staff lovely and friendly here and willing to help. Only downside is too often I’m getting home and finding the food I’ve purchased is expired or a day from expiring (12pack of yogurts which I’d struggle to eat in a day) I suggest checking the expiry date on anything in the fridge department

Amazing store, amazing staff Even new staff under training get to know regular customer preferences and in general they way the staff treat you is the best I've seen at any supermarket anywhere. Always clean and tidy and always has an atmosphere of welcome and efficiency. What I like the most is the age range of staff.

Big aisles, generally has everything you need on the shelves, good parking, multiple self checkout machines. Now with covid, there the odd times when some items aren't present. On the whole, they keep good stock levels.

I would like to congratulate Mosgiel Countdown on their awesome service. I was very impressed with how they had everyone lined up checking masks, signing in and counting how many in store. I loved the box idea for anyone who didn't have an app so people didn't see their private details. The staff very friendly and well organized with the pick up of groceries under this stressful time. Even the ladies and men at the checkouts had.a smile on their face. I felt comfortable moving around the supermarket and noticed everyone keep 2m distance. Compared to New World Mosgiel who could learn alot from following Countdown and their ways. I will be recommending to friends and family to shop at Countdown.

I like the friendly staff who are patient and very helpful when my memory doesn’t want to help me out on a errand run or my exciting sweet tooth slash cheat day grocery runs or skate (since if I feel I have enough energy I would be skating with my trusty side-kick Sharky the Longboard). Good weather outside and came to get laundry detergent powder and dishwashing liquid for Nana Hunt and the Whanau; while I’m temporarily waiting for a social house for myself and my two daughters (and maybe the sis, Saraya and her partner can probably live with us and we all keep each other safe and in company and play jokes and hide and seek) but yeah. Thank you Countdown Mosgiel and staff there :) :) :)

Countdown Mosgiel is the best supermarket in Mosgiel. They all so kind and just lovey, all the workers always welcoming asking how your day is. The people just lovey and kind and really down to earth. I would have to say out of both countdown & new world supermarket out at Mosgiel, Countdown is by far most helpful and friendly. They don’t look down at you like I feel new world does. I live closer to new world put would rather go the extra mile to feel comfortable. 10/10 for Countdown Mosgiel The best. My family feel the same now they all go to Mosgiel Countdown. That’s what you call a top supermarket Top Class fantastic people.

I like the staff at this store, they're always quite cheerful and up for a bit of a yarn or some banter. There's a good range of supermarkety stuff, and also there's enough parking it would seem as I've been in when it's quite busy.

Good supermarket but I would like to see it have a broader range of meats and vegetables and fresh fruit. And please provide really fresh veges. Also less packaging of vegetables in plastic would be good i.e. carrots in air tight plastic isn't necessary.

Nice and clean store. Software on self service machines is rubbish, drives everyone nuts. Fruit and vegetable area good. Bought some steaks (3 kinds- chuck, gravy, and another), cooked that night, and they had a chemical-funky taste. Not sure what processes the store does to alter the meat flavour so much. Not buy steak there again.

It is a standard small town supermarket. The checkout staff are very friendly and chat with their customers. Do wish that they did have some self-service lanes for those in a hurry. Overall the store was very clean and well laid out.

Every time we visit we get a friendly face to serve us and that is why we keep coming back. As we travel for abt 1 hour to get there and past 4 other supermarkets on our way. Very rare you have to wait to be served. Just a happy experience. ☺

Let's just say it's gonna be great when we get our new Countdown out here. It is frustrating to shop at as they don't often have everything you need on your list. In the winter it's a cold shop to shop in. The staff are friendly; but a few are 'older' ladies and are a bit chatty amongst themselves... and they're never in too much of a hurry.... i.e. not that efficient.

A huge improvement on their last place (it was far too small). Plenty of parking. 4 self check-out terminals. While they're pretty neck-and-neck with New World as far as selection goes. They're far more conveniently located

I would like to compliment the store on there selection of meats available over the festive season.There whole ham on the bone and legs of lamb were the best value for money compared to othercsupermarkets The cooked ham was the tastiest I have had in years.I dont usually shop here but will certainly be going herecin the future if only for there selection of good meat

It is a shame to see that you are replacing the single use thin plastic bags with thicker plastic bags! This seems a very limited step, even if people do re-use them, they will not last terribly long and will still result in plastic filling up our landfills and oceans. Please promote non plastic, non synthetic options and provide cardboard boxes at the checkout. That would be great! Thanks for offering paper bags for breads now. It would be great if as many products as possible like fruit and veggies and breads are kept free of plastic coverings. Thanks you. Kirsten

First off, a big thankyou to Coundown for keeping their staff on from the old Countdown down the road. We farm types are a bit funny - we like to see familiar faces, and get annoyed when people are unceremoniously dumped for rubbish reasons. So kudos to Countdown. You got that right. Now here's my whinge - why have all those checkouts with NOBODY to staff them? The new Countdown is full of checkouts designed for manual service, but half the time I go in there I see only one checkout with a human being, and a line up of five people, pretty much forcing we old codgers to use the automated machines. Which I hate. So here's the thing: If you can afford a flashy new Countdown, you can afford a few more human beings to work in it. Service matters. It promotes loyalty and makes the customers happy. Get that right as well, Countdown, and you'll get five stars from me.
