An excellent well set out shop with plenty of space to browse and do your shopping. There is a huge variety of products, you should be able to find exactly what you're wanting. The staff are very nice and polite, able to answer your questions. If like me you prefer to use the online shopping available you'll find the website so easy to use. The men who deliver your shopping are lovely.

We are so lucky to have two countdowns so near to each other, the two allow for a greater range if products. The service is always way better than the other supermarket near by. Today's service at the original Countdien was excellent.

Ample parking with up to 2 hours free, fresh selection of meats, fruit and veg., good offers on all sorts supermarket products and a nice selection at the deli. What really make this supermarket stand out is the service. Their staff are all happy to offer help. The cashiers are among the genuinely friendliest people I’ve come across - which is exceptional considering it was a public holiday and they’ve had to stay on their feet the whole day. Made my day to shop here.

Visiting the Hawkes Bay. A lovely supermarket all round with great choice and well spaced isles. The checkout process was quick too, and the lovely lady there was so friendly and welcomed me to the Bay! Will certainly be back here... one of the best supermarkets I’ve come across in the north island!

Better thank the Pak n Save. Better produce. Great deals on "old" things from the deli. They usually have a good deal on some sort of beer/wine. 12 items or less check out line. What more can you ask for.

As you can probably see countdown is the Kiwi name Woolies are you pretty much assured that the produce they have is same as you get back home except for their alcohol which is way cheaper than we pay back here even for things like VB how can it be cheaper than it is here cigarettes over there if your a smoker are expensive maximum size packet 25 same cost as a 30 packet in Oz.

I really like the friendly staff at Countdown stores. Most supermarkets have pretty much the same stuff but I hate self service checkouts and the staff at the check outs and deli etc at Countdown are always so pleasant and friendly. I dont like stores like PaknSave that have self service as its just a way for them to make more money.

Seems like a decent place for groceries. And your mileage may vary. But when we went there the lights were off in the middle of the day and we shopped by cell phone light. Then at cash they IDed us for a single bottle of wine despite us being in our 30s and wouldn’t accept any foreign id except passports. But no way we carry passports around unnecessarily. But they were polite about it. So. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
