Very friendly place to shop however most people in Nelson are treating at like we're still in covid 3 Lockdown two persons per building yeah it's but the people at Countdown were very friendly very helpful

A brief visit to see if they had items that was not available in my usual supermarket, they did have them, very tidy shop, great staff, the checkout person asked if i had a one card, and patiently waited till i found it, before checking out Thanks for your patience,its appreciated.

It was a really quick and easy shopping experience. A young staff member named maddy helped us at the checkout and was extremely kind and patient. They enforced the mask and social distance requirements diligently and made us feel safe for the duration of the trip.

Large branch, in a central location with ample car-parks and right next door to The Warehouse, which means you more or less can get all your shopping needs met with just the one trip, if you plan it ahead. The clear layout means you can find your way around easily even if it's your first trip to this store, so travellers, backpackers and overseas visitors will have no trouble finding supplies and getting to the self- or manned checkouts. Their deli offers some very nice cold cuts including roast pork-belly, etc. For some reason they seem to taste better than the ones closer to home. Check out the bakery as well, you'll be glad you packed a great lunch for your excursions out of the city or to the beach where you won't find many food-kiosks around. Green produce and fruit are very fresh with seasonal vegs. eg. red peppers, on hot specials.

Strategically located, ample parking space for the customer cars, got lots of things for your daily need. The produce are fresh and of good quality. At the time of my visit, the exterior condition is look quite dull, but the interior is in so much better; look like new, actually. Staff members are friendly.

I've always had great customer service here: friendly staff that are willing to go out if their way to help you. The self serve checkouts are convenient when you have a few items and your in a hurry. Free fruit for kiddies is a nice touch and keeps them quiet for a while while you shop.

Well presented items and good choices. Clean and tidy. There's no packing benches but there is a long seat near the main entrance where you can bag your items if needed. No WiFi here.

Best prices generally, but the bonus/saving system in form of the countdown card really are minimal and not really applicable for travelers like myself, not staying here for years, or shopping for an entire family. New World does have a better option for non-residents here.

Being a tourist from sydney I was quite surprised at how expensive food is in New Zealand. Averaging 1/3 more expensive even basic food. Great service and well stocked shelves.

Whats going on. I always love shopping at Countdown in Nelson by the library, but your bread lately is always hard. This is disappointing when people with kids go shopping. A $1 may not mean much to some but to others alot. Especially when the bread is hard. I still like Countdown and will continue to shop there.

I realise it is a marketing ploy, but I wish they would leave products where they are and not keep shifting them around to make you more likely to get into impulse shopping. I take a list and stick rigidly to it If it ain't on my list, it just gets missed!
