Countdown always good value for money . But sadly no gold card excerpted here therefore no gold card discounts on Tuesdays . Staff very pleasant and helpful and helpful. Plenty of hand sanitizer readily available . No parking in there car park for motorhomes but room outside on the street.

Place was very clean. Shelves stocked well. Friendly service. In an earlier post of another store I stated the groceries were a little higher. Well my wife told me that the groceries here are about 25 percent higher with some items being very expensive. She normally does the shopping.

I have always been happy shopping at countdown ,but with the prices going up so much I will be definitely be checking out the prices at new world to compare .

Yesterday I had a fall in the Countdown car park. My fault, not helped by the fact that I was wearing a mask so had trouble breathing and my glasses were all fogged up! Anyway two customers kindly came to my rescue and helped me up, and once inside the shop I mentioned to the young lady at the fish counter that my knee was bleeding profusely, and so she called one of the store's First Aid assistants, Anna. I would just like to thank her for that, and also Anna who did such a good job at patching me up. I always like shopping at Countdown and it's a credit to the store that the staff are always so helpful and friendly. So a big Thank You all round! Liz McKeown

Was in there today and an elderly gentelman was having trouble getting his card to work it meant a long wait for us which wasn't a problem the young blonde girl who was serving was amazing she was kind and very considerate restored my faith in human kindness I did mention this to one of the senior staff just wanted to get it out there you made our day didn't help that I was in a card only checkout using cash which meant alot of mucking around for her going to another till Al done with respect and kindness so thank you young lady wish I had of taken your name

Thinking the chief of n club dictates from his base camp in this district specifically..camera crazy town.. capstone of social experimenters. Countdown caretakers are awesum..dam shame they don't give up their empty boxes tho0 .

Nice big countdown. Had everything you would expect. Pretty limited craft beer selection though which is a shame

Have just made my first order online to pick up. Absolutely great. Can understand why one daughter uses them all the time. Time saving, don't get stuff you don't need, so money saving!!

Most of the staff are very friendly and happy to help but there are a couple of staff members that seem to find it a hassle to help also can be very short with you & it will be very rarely you get a smile from these couple of workers imo they shouldn't be working in a customer service industry if they can't be nice & friendly to customers who are nice to them

The staff are helpful but every time we go to buy organic ginger tea it appears that the boxes have come into contact with a steamroller before being put on the shelf.

To many items unavailable eg robit Harris Coffee 5kg flour Edmonds yeast green kiwi fruit angelus pears. All these were available at newworld

Clear its been there for a long time. The inside is great and gives you the feel of a big town supermarket! Only flaw is the carpark.

Not my supermarket of choice. I find it very cold. Love the fresh bread and delicatessen.

The lady at checkout great but as for supervisors standing talking and laughing between themselves and poor checkout lady ringing bell 4 times for one of them to come and authorize my wine maybe they need some more training as it is not good when in a queue a people behind

Good shopping experience, nice friendly staff plenty of light and an open feel to the aisles. We picked up a lot of things for a pick n mix tea. Unfortunately the custard tarts we got went straight in the bin after being spat out of our mouths. Unset grainy custard and soggy pastry does not make for an enjoyable experience. However the rest of our food was great would shop again.

We went for a quick shop and found all that we needed relatively quickly. Checkout had insane ques so we went to a self ceckout but that proved to be no faster. Was slow and clunky. Cleanliness was below average. Found lots if items just in random places. Peanut butter just shoved in the tray with the bread???? Overall, not amazing experience and may not go back.

Countdown Oamaru has a bit of a funny smell inside from time to time but with the new online ordering boxes. Much nicer experience shopping here.

We visit this store probably 3 times a week, it’s always clean, staff is friendly, prices are good and produce is fresh! Don’t know what more you could ever ask for? Oh! Free piece of fruit for kids! This is the best thing, so our toddler can munch on an orange or banana while we shop, we seriously love this! Thank you!

Stopped in for some basics today. Nice store which was well laid out. Had everything we wanted which was great. Staff were nice and friendly. I always find countdown a bit expensive but with the specials today it was ok.

Friendly staff ... unfortunately they are unable to order the goods their customers require as stock is allocated from head office. Example try buying raspberry Pepsi in oamaru, its simply not available, with no ability to stock it im told..... yet every other countdown on the east coast sells it.

There were so many customers tonight, but I heard over the speaker for more checkout staff, by the time I got to the checkout they were all going, and still lines. Checkout staff were very cheerful even with the large volume of people, big ups to them

Today as I shopped a customer sneezed and had no idea he needed to cover up and suddenly decided his hand should do the job. Too late for me. This man was in his mid 60s and just wondering around not caring about others

Really hit and miss on the countdown bakery garlic breads sometimes devine and others its as bald as a basketball no garlic or butter to be seen

Customer service is always great in this store, very down to earth people and they make shopping easy to endure, I don't like food shopping at the best of times, but I always leave smiling thanks to great customer service.

Countdown can always do better on customer service and as for the lotto counter, I don't even waste my time there. You have to wait while they answer the phone or serve someone on the items less counter. It is a joke. Go somewhere else for lotto.

Great . Lovely chekout lady. Some products are hard to reach on top shelf so I just left it and will pop into another supermarket in the way home and grab it.

Great selection of goods, good faulty product return policy. Only let down is often too long waiting ques - and of course the rip off pricing we all pay here in NZ compared to Australia.

Countdown had the groceries we needed. But. Outside the market there is litter everywhere. Not a good look.

Gd supermarket, clean, lots of regular specials, nice staff, well lite, gd variety, could do with more staff during busy times, although that may have been taken care off. Plenty of free parking.

I shop at countdown in oamaru for over ten years the service is one hundred percent and I would not shop any were else.I have a Mobil scooter and travel from the north end

Great range of product. As is usual with Countdown the lack of packing staff creates delays when the store is busy.

Honest price and very helpful customer service, but watch out on expire dates on products

They differ to other towns but mainly set up the same layout. Slightly differ in product range as well.

New check out is easy to operate. Help is always at hand. 😀.
