We shopped at countdown Paeroa this morning what a pleasure it was to shop there the staff were so helpful friendly found everything we came for some with a little help from the staff and going through the check out lovely check out girls the manager can be very proud of his staff he has working for him we have decided we will go there more often even if it means traveling extra half hour to get there

Somewhat Disappointing to sometimes find heaps of people waiting for a checkout with only 1 or maybe two open....and im abit tired of finding empty shelves...i know it depends on delivery but it seems to be quite a regular accurance

It's simply a great shop, friendly staff, plenty of food options. And during level 3 of lock down I was still able to get my weekly nessessities, I haven't bulk buyed at all. Plenty of parking to.

Paeroa is a small but friendly town. The countdown supermarket is right in the middle of the town on the main highway. We didn't have any problem finding a car park. It's not the biggest countdown in the world but it had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly.

It's actually a bigger shop when you go in, it looks small at first. Clean. Easy to find things. Parking not bad for my motorhome a little hard to park late afternoon.Staff were very friendly and happy. I'd be happy to go back there. Paeroa is a motorhome friendly town love it.

The great service at countdown makes up for the lack of some products found in other countdowns. The check out staff like Rhoda, Joy, Liz, Audrey, Leanne to name a few are always smiling and helpful and the fantastic on line team led by Margaret always guarantees a smooth and friendly delivery service. They really need to employ more shelf fillers as there was very little stock out. Gaps everywhere. Staff are great though!

It's OK for a small country supermarket. No self checkout, which is a drawback. Friendly staff which is a plus.

They would've been awesome in their day, like 20-30 years ago, but today, this supermarket has out-grown their premises twice over. Cant fault the staff, they do a decent job but the store could really do with a decent redesign and revamp. Still, they provide all that is needed to happily exist in this great little small town.

Good friendly staff. But check your docket for accuracy on specials, I didn't till I got home in Waihi, was overcharged by four dollars on almonds, obviously not programmed into the system but labelled on the shelf at reduced price. Still a good place to shop though😘No big deal.

Good local supermarket very close to the Hauraki Cycle track. Also on route to various tourist destinations- Coromandel, Tauranga, waitomo caves and more. Easy to find , on main road. Decent variety of grocery product's available; gluten free,vegan, fresh mussels, vegetables, fresh bread etc. Close to Public toilets, kids playground and caravan parking.

A small shop so it doesn't carry a large range of stock. Prices are higher in a lot of items compared to Pak N Save, however the closest Pak N Save is about 35 kms away. Staff are friendly and helpful. The deli food is always fresh and the grocery food is good quality. The downside is that sometimes there is a queue at the checkout.

Just arrived back in NZ for good after living in Brisbane Australia for 23 years. We ha e chosen Paeroa to stay until we find our new home in Hamilton. Paeroa Countdown is an excellent Supermarket to shop in it has everything you need and the service at the checkout is awesome!

Great place to shop but unfortunately at this time if the year the shelves of produce is taking a hammering. Luckily I got everything I wanted. Was a bit disappointed that one of the items I needed to get had gone up by $3 in 10 days!! I was so disappointed.

Courteous and helpful staff throughout the store. High standard of cleanliness. The aisle signs are improving over time. With the changes seemingly complete a map of the store would be now be helpful.

Been here quite a lot so know where most thinga are. Staff are great. Take your own cloth bags for fruit and veg, or buy some so you can reduce plastic in the environment.

Bigger than it looks. Unusual layout. Best supermarket in Paeroa. Parking is cramped close to the door, but the carpark is not often full. Good range of vegetables and fresh produce, and the bakery section is always worth a visit. Same for the deli section down the other end of the store. Checkout can be slow sometimes.

Stopped in here on the way to Whakatane noticed they only sold Heineken in 6 packs or 24 packs. Shop was very clean and tidy and easy to find what i was looking for.

Three stars because this particular countdown supermarket are always running out of what I need. Eg. The sized nappies I need and milk, bread etc etc (staples)! Also their fruit that are for free for children, is much much more fresh (not bruised or mouldy), like the ones being sold in the value packs. Poor!

I like it here as it is an older store where everything is a bit crowded but it has a "you never know what's around the next corner" vibe to it.

Countdown Paeroa is a well stocked supermarket. Clean and lovely counter staff. I love that they stock fennel as it is hard to find for sale in other supermarkets in the Waikato.
