A lot smaller than we expected but very well stocked and lovely staff at the checkouts

The cutest Countdown branch I had ever shopped on! It's well-stocked and the staffs are lovely.

Small store but has all needy things. Good stock of fruits and vegetables. Surprised to see how the space can be optimised to have every things required. Hard to find too much difference from other store as almost everything I can think was available. Friendly staff.

Exceptional and absolutely friendly staff with a smile always. Awesome. They make my day a happy happy one.☺

Queues in the rain at the main Paihia shop, no thanks. I can't lean on my cane that long. Paihia central Countdown - zero queues, excellent thank you

Quick stop shop in a minimal styled countdown. Not many parking options.

Bigger than expected. Has most things you might need, even self-checkout. But still on the small side in terms of products and if you're gf and dairy free. Only one type of gf bread when I visited.

It's fine, but I'd suggest heading a couple of kilometers up towards Waitangi to the big Countdown if you're driving.

Cute, lovely staff, has all that you need for a teeny tiny supermarket. Surprisingly good prices and hidden or not so hidden deals...

Great service friendly and helpful, easy location for parking close to beach and accommodations, walking distance for anchored yachts provisioning, hiking nearby to burn yummy cookies off, look for reduced vege - meat - deli specials. Dentist office just around the corner. One stop shop!

A bit lacking in certain areas (no cans of coke available, but bottles are?) but generally very nice little store just to grab the essentials. Anything more you can go for a walk up the street to the bigger Countdown.

The usual limited range and premium prices you would expect from a holiday town convenience store, BUT a fabulous selection of vegan ready meals, including Beyond Burgers! Good on ya Countdown Paihia!!

Great little supermarket that had all the things we wanted to buy to contribute towards dinner at a friend's home in Russell. Well set out fruit and vegetable department with free fruit in a basket for kids to eat whilst the shopping is being done. Really well stocked with lots of variety hummus, pesto, dairy products etc. Even some choices for Vegans to eat meat free burgers from the fridge

Small supermarket in the centre of Paihia that has a decent range of produce including fresh fruit and vegetables, some dairy products, frozen meals plus wine and beers. In general you should find what you are looking for and the staff are friendly and very helpful. It is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm. There is a small car park at the side if you need to take your car.

A small store with limited selection but has the essentials. No deli food available. Staff were friendly when I visited. I found it had a better selection of meat and veg than the 4 Square across the road and was cleaner and better laid out however the 4 Square is owned and run by locals who had excellent customer service and reasonable prices when I visited so that is my preferred choice.

Surprisingly comprehensive for its small size. However didn't see any specifically vegan foods like tempeh or veg sausages. Do have dried lentils and tinned no-added-salt chickpeas and red beans. Good reasonably priced wine.

Very small store about the size of an iga or 4-square in a larger town or city. But had everything I needed.

Paihia a great store, everything we wanted great staff, however with the current situation the world is in it was not easy to keep your distance so be sure to wear a mask, seriously important.

I go here often, it's got all the essentials for what you need to get. Food, alcohol, fruit, vege, snacks, frozens and more

This has to be the smallest Count Down in NZ! Its about the size of your home garage....like no joke! Its a tourist attraction in itself! I forgot to take a photo, but thats small town NZ!

Nice big well stocked Countdown. Stock up here before you head further north. Parking nearby for Motorhomes and caravans.

Feels like the poorer cousin of the larger countdown in kerikeri Not a fair assessment admittedly but when u take into account the paihia store was here First it would have been better to expand on this one Curious they have instead created a smaller countdown in town not 2 minutes away

Well executed layout of floor area to accommodate most of the products.

It's great in the off season.. Otherwise it too small in the season.. Otherwise l like it has great staff and it is convient for catering for visitors that like to eat out..

I wanted some food, I went inside a building, I picked up what I thought was food, I went to leave and a human said "that'll be $186,067 ser", I handed some paper in my pockets over, they smiled and wished me farewell, I went outside the building now with food, that building was called countdown, it's also a gameshow somehow.

Limited selection, good for a quick shop but if you need more than a little amount of food , head to the bigger countdown 30 min down the road

This is a small supermarket with a good range of the basics .. there is a bigger Countdown about 1km down the road at Waitangi and they have a lot more in their range, like fresh fish etc.
