It used to be good before covid. Now it's low on some stock, no doubt like most supermarkets, and the staff aren't as helpful or friendly lately. Perhaps they're as jaded as the rest of NZ.

Lots of Variety to choose from. Very spacious with plenty of room to move the trolley. You don't have to go to another supermarket to purchase the missing items as everything you need need. Great selection of meat too. And the fruiys and veggies move fast so they are fresh. International section has a better selection. Even Cheetos can be bought here.

I loved shopping here before recently moving.Store manager was lovely along with front end staff.Only let down i always found was the deli department where 2 females with blonde hair are always sour to deal with so i go elsewhere for deli products.But apart from that everyone else was so friendly and store was always tidy looking.

Always go here each week, but my issues these days are the staff doing the click and collect, never smile and I have to go around them. They never seem to move aside for the customers who shop in store. The Check out staff are great.

Tidy, friendly, helpful with adequate parking space. Sanitiser at entrance to use as you walk in and out. Everything you need is there or close. The car park is always being tidied. No mess everywhere. Even the around the clothing bin is tidy. They did an awesome job through Lockdown. Everything was as it should have been. Obviously Management is onto it and their staff. Had a delightful experience of 'click and collect' just after 11am today. Invited inside 'out of the cold' to await final items into trolley. Friendly staff and when I got home I noticed a hand written note at the top of the packing slip; "have a great day"(smiley face)

The majority of the staff are friendly and chatty and there is a great range of products, however the checkout staff should be taught how to pack properly. We had one young man putting heavy stuff on top of our bread and fruit. We are reluctant to buy a lot of fruit from this store when we see the staff not handling the produce with care. This is both the produce staff and checkout operators.

My favourite supermarket to shop from. Always neat and tidy, shelf is always stocked up and staff are happy to help if by any chance you can’t locate something. I like how they always have fresh fruits in the kids basket. They display their prices properly which makes it easier to see what’s on special.

The Ham and Chicken luncheon selling for 69c 100gm was disgusting. I threw it out. The thick sliced ham I was given imparts was gray in colour. I won't do the deli anymore.

Very clean, found staff always very helpful and friendly, don't find the bakery as good as some of the other supermarkets. They cater for most items, even a lovely selection of cut flowers roses, lillies, etc which they replace 3 times a week, one of the best when it comes to the flowers. Very busy Supermarket but they keep the checkouts all working when a lot of people there, not like some of the other one's where you stand around waiting. Lots of goodies our local NW doesn't stock. Meat prices way too high. The only "cheap" meat is very poor quality - mostly bone and fat. Easy parking. Store easily navigated.

Make or break rule for reviewing supermarkets - Do they help you immediately at self-checkouts? Well, at Countdown Kelvin Grove I have trouble with the self-checkout machine and as a lad this can be frustrating. Countdown staff always on the watch like batman. All I gotta do is signal and a happy bloke or lady will come help cheerfully. Good stuff Countdown Kelvin Grove!

They have a fruit basket as you enter the store with apples and bananas for the kids. My son no longer asks for chocolate at the checkout as he is happily munching on a piece of healthy fruit. Good service and the store always has a good variety of products to choose from.

Customer service brilliant twice now. When my child was collecting M& M mugs the yellow mug was broken so I took it back. They searched everywhere, 2 staff and when they couldn't find it they then rang ahead to the other 2 countdowns locally to ask them as well. Brilliant effort. Today I needed a particular biscuit, she looked up and saw them listed offered to go and collect them and hold them at the service desk. Thanks
