M.One of the best supermarkets in Palmerston North, has a wide selection of produce and is never usually out of stock on particular items. They also have some of the best meat deals in Palmerston North.
L.Very convenient location. With plenty of parking which is free for an hour. Lots of variety. Crowded place with the mall shoppers. Lots of ready to eat products. Great variety of international items too. There's always good deals. Products move fast. Fresh veggies, fruits and meat. You will always get everything you need here which saves you the trouble of having to go anywhere else.
M.Store was clean and shelves stocked. Customer service agent was fantastic and she had awesome tattoos too.
C.Some staff think they don't do customer service, you can ask about your click and collect and they look at you like 'you think I work for you' and stand just gazing back at you, then make a slight gesture towards who I should go and see. That person was great. But the other scurried back up the stairs to never be seen any customers again.
D.Good prices, a great range of high end groceries. However even before the pandemic, never enough open checkouts to meet demand.
C.A little pricey but good quality products, easy to navigate, helpful and friendly staff
C.Not a big store but they have most things. Can be hard to find some items, layout can be a bit puzzling.
S.Easy to find what you need, good selection and even a pharmacy in store - what more do you need?

J.The layout has changed in this store, I sometimes struggle to find what I am looking for. I once did my week shop here but with paying for parking I now go to another countdown for my weekly shop.

P.Nice friendly store. Range of products good, price usually between packnsave and new world, although good specials can be found often. Altogether a nice shopping experience. The staff always seem to be friendly and willing to help you, and this is often why I keep shopping at this store.
S.Always happy with countdown palmy :) they've always got specials on animal food when I go in there! And I always need animal food. Plus the staff are always so friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work :D
M.A good store overall with a reasonable-range of products along with "specials" to match. VERY helpful & accomodating staff everywhere - They are a credit to Countdown - I know from being in business most of my 50yrs in management in varying sectors. Always room for beating the competition just up the road though meaning Pak n Save. Upper management will be acutely aware of this, but in today's market every repeat customer is like gold. Just my humble thoughts.
d.It was my second time visiting the store. Took me a few minutes to find my way. I could say I hardly saw any staff. I finally found what I needed. I was served by a nice Lady.
S.Went in today was a awesome atmosphere went pass the deli area and saw a sandwich asked the lady for a chicken Sammy paid for my items went home made a coffee and dug into my Sammy..............well ..........Hands down to whoever made that most delicious full of fillings so big I couldn't get my mouth over it 😋 Chicken Sandwich and the price was so affordable. I know where to get my sandwich fix next time. Thank you best Sammy I've had (besides my own) in a very long time👍

You can buy online and pick up your groceries, or get them delivered.
It is a nice clean shop with easy sign posted isles.
The staff are helpful and there is an information desk for any help you may need.
Easy parking.
B.Ya know, it's a supermarket, not a superhero. It's not supposed to be Wonder-Womanful or Hulkaliscious. It does the job and does it well enough. But, ya know, I got my milk and ice cream and biscuits home safely ready for my milo Tim tam slam. Yummo
P.Choco crunch and Anzac biscuits in the bakery section are the best cookies I have eaten anywhere in the world!
A.An awesome bunch of people. They always have a great attitude and do everything they can to make your shopping experience a pleasant one...even when your kids take items off the weigh station and scan them for a 2nd time.
F.This is the closest supermarket to work and before covid was my lunchtime escape. Easy to get supplies for lunch, bananas and grab milk and biscuits for work. The staff are first class, friendly and helpful.

R.Countdown has a range of good quality produce with good prices for most stuff. The only down side is the price of their meat, it's very expensive and doesn't have a big selection. If you want the best cuts of fresh meat Countdown is perfect for you. However been on a budget, buying fresh meat at Countdown is a sting to the wallet. But I would recommend Countdown for anything else you might need.

s.Located outside the mall with limited time restrict parking, need to pay at the pay station before exit. It's a good sized store with decent product range. The presentation is great.

T.Another nice Countdown. 1 hour free parking should be enough for most shoppers. A free piece of Fruit for the kids is very welcoming and great to keep them occupied for 5 minutes or so.
D.Nice quick shopping experience. Never too busy but could do with more staff behind counter. If doing a larger shop I'd rather not use self serve because theres not alot of room to put bags etc.
G.It's a supermarket. But has good service. Willing to go the extra mile and helps to find that elusive product.
M.I like countdown but it's a familiarity with the layout that keeps me going back to the same store. Supermarkets like countdown are designed to induce a trance like state as you flow absently along the aisles listening to piped music and filling your trolley with more than you came for.
After a visit to countdown I can find I have bought many times what I intended to buy. I pop in for milk and bread and end up with pesto and blue cheese and cherry tomatoes and hand sanitizer and chocolate ice cream.
This is not entirely my weakness. Supermarkets are set up like this. But it doesn't help to know this, and next time I run in to pick up dog food, I'll over spend like the obedient little consumerbot that I am.

E.Getting my groceries - they need a bit more stock variation but otherwise good.
M.Same as any other supermarket.
E.5 star service. But needs more staff leading up to the 4 pm change of staff shift. Veggies are an outrageous price. Needs more shelf fillers as lack of product on shelves. Other wise still the 5 star service.

There is also a basket of free fruit for kids in the produce section.
They now have novelty shopping trolleys that have a video screen and room for 2 preschool aged children.
The only criticism is that sometimes there aren't enough checkouts open for the number of customers waiting.

D.Despite the name there was no actual countdowns!! I practised all week for some counting down. I practised counting down in 2's, 5's and 14's. No matter who i asked they wouldnt participate. Then I found out they sell both hot chicken and janola!! Of course I didnt eat them together, thats just ludicrously silly. They also sell cows milk. And thank goodness as i was sick of making my own. Salty. So if you dont mind the false advertising from the name its a good place

I.The cleanest countdown I have been to, staff are lacking in knowledge of the items the supermarket has or does not have. If you want a trolley, bring one in form outside with you.
