It's the only supermarket in Picton but the pricing is fair considering the distance to competition. And being a locally owned store it supplies some products and produce that are pretty unique, particularly for foreign ingredients. Gets 4 stars because they could do with higher staff numbers (or self service).

Your best bet for a large shop when in Picton. As far as supermarkets go it’s quite small but it has everything I needed. Well stocked. Has NZ Post services onsite and loads of parking

We go to FreshChoice every day to get fresh buns for lunch, gives us a good walk and we get to enjoy yummy fresh buns. They have a great stock of groceries and a good team of staff.

Amazing! Generously celebrating Christmas for their customers with lots of great foodie snacks including Chrissy cake on offer by friendly staff at every turn around the store. Plus Santa Claus gave us a gift as we arrived. Great fresh fruit n veg section

This is the only supermarket in Picton (there is a 4square) and was very well stocked. Prices were as expected with a number of deals. It is part of the countdown chain of supermarkets. It is located in the shopping mall at one end of the High Street with plenty of parking. Do take your own bags.

Parking isn't the easiest when you're towing a boat, my husband drops me off and I phone him when I've bought our groceries. When you consider we only shop here after driving off a Cook Strait ferry ... I salute the staff of this supermarket for cheerfully serving the waves of customers that descend on them 👍

I was pleasantly surprised by this supermarket - I was expecting a bit rough and ready! Great variety, good quality. Service from the female manager (12 Feb, 8pm) very friendly and seemed to be enjoying her job. 😊

It says locally owned. ??? I think the franchise is owned. However, the owner has no say In who he buys from. Given the outrageous prices of food, how does locally owned make a difference. Do the staff get more benefits. I suggest you compare prices. Some of the increases are nothing but blatant greed. The price of carbonated spring water almost doubles in less than a year. Serivice is good. Staff are helpful.

The supermarket is good 4 star The post shop staff member though is rude and unhelpful A bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss when advising of postage and overseas mailings zero star rating for the post office

We stopped in Picton on a sailing yacht, preparing to sail to cape horn and Argentina and required an incredible amount of food to supply 14 people for 30 days. The owner of the shop, Hamish, was the most helpful person I have encountered at super market when supplying a yacht. He fully understood our needs, and bent over backwards to help us. He even drove to another shop in the next town to buy what he didn't have for us. Then dropped everything to the marina, and he even helped us get it onto the boat. All the checkout team and staff were super friendly and helpful. They made it the least stressful boat shop I have ever done. Thank you to everyone involved.

Brand new store so looks tidy. Great produce. Good for last minute purchases but probably not the best for the weekly shop unless you aren't watching your back balance. Very nice staff.

This supermarket just keeps improving with all the food choices they offer, particularly for people like me with special diets such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free - there's certainly a great range of healthy foods for us veggies! I expect the supermarket also has to keep growing and expanding their range of food to cater for the hundreds of tourists' various dietary demands and requirements, who stay or pass through Picton on their way to and from the ferries to the North Island. They also offer an online shopping service with delivery or in-store pick up. They have some lovely flowers and bouquets on sale at the entrance but they're a bit pricey. I've never had to wait too long when queuing at the cashier but I guess it can get busy there at peak times with the limited check outs there. Remember to bring your re-useable bags as New Zealand banned plastic bags on 1 July 2019 - Yay!

Free wifi, yaaasss! Pretty standard value, the fresh foods isle is fittingly the highlight of the store to me! Some interesting vegetables i don't typically see at other supermarkets such as fresh dates, fennel root, choko... Sometimes there is unnecessary plastic packaging but was REALLY happy to see they had biodegradable plastic bags. They sometimes have a cheap bin for fresh foods, so i managed to scavenge a large bunch of perfect bananas for under a dollar. They told us at checkout that you need to take your backpacks off when going into the store but there was no signage. Otherwise, lovely staff.

Wheel chair access. "Skuzzi" pizza and coffee shop at front. Parking along road. Westpac bank in the same Mall nearby. May be very busy when tour ship is in port in summer months.

For Australians this is a Woolworths owned franchise, so you can get all your Woolies favs. But make sure you bring you're passport if you want alcohol as they don't accept Australian drivers license.

Busy place but the prices go up every week which is so annoying when one is on a limited budget I write down prices in my notebook so I would know how much I can spend next week only to find this particular week one product I rely on was up 50 cents. I only have paid 3.50 in the past and now its $4. How does one justify such a huge price hike? Being lactose intolerant does not help because every week they are either out of stock or the prices have gone up considerably for what I can only buy for my health. Outrageous
