It's a town and traveler necessity, and that's what to expect overall. Not too far of a walk from the main campground when carrying a bag or two back and otherwise right in the town centre. I don't know if I can speak much to prices as every town has its own supply and demand challenges, but water and such seemed to be double. Aisles surprisingly well spaced, but with that small town feel to how it's stocked. Did feel put off by some of the staff as it just felt like a glaring contempt of us for some reason to where I wanted to try to lighten the mood just to break the invisible ice but felt it wouldn't be welcome. To end on a good note though, they did have this very tiny shopping trolleys for kids I suppose which was cute.

It's a Four Square! It's in Te Anau! It's actually a reasonably sized and pretty well stocked small supermarket, rather than a corner shop / dairy. There is a Fresh Choice that has more of it's own parking, and is slightly bigger, just up the road. But the Four Squares is likely to have what you want, and parking in Te Anau is not in my experience much of a problem, so why not?

Place to stop to pick up what you need for eats and drinks on the trail. They have deli in back for a sandwich, fresh fruit up front, then nuts and energy bars between.

This store is very suitable for its demographics. It has small, travel size foods items including spreads and cereals. This store also has foods suited for tramping/hiking. It is a very, very good store.

Four Square is an iconic New Zealand small supermarket brand. Friendly, helpful, local. The free range eggs are cheaper here than the bigger Fresh Choice supermarket.

It's very central and has a great range of goods although many things are cheaper at fresh choice which is bigger but also a bit further away.
