Very good but with the use of the new scanner's will that just be a way of getting rid of the really good check out staff. At present the help at the new check outs is really helpful and the staff at these places are again very helpful and their attitude is a credit to the store well done. I will be waiting to see if this is going to be like other companies as a means to cut staff I hope not.

Loved it quick and easy I'm touring down here and I'm from Canada, I noticed this little signage there today made me and the wife chuckle!

The shop and go sign and staff amazing however the self serve woman could have done with some customer service. First time using shop n go pulled up at self service instead of shop n go, ask if was in right place she points to big sign hanging from roof stating " signs up there in middle" my 13 year stated how rude!! Again shop n go staff entry and exit perfect!

Good like the self scanning system, quicker to get out.

Usually great deals @ Pak n Saves in the South, & better quality fruit & veg & (sometimes) meat. Really helpful staff at Timaru Store.

Super kind staff that went above and beyond to help me out, from finding items to cleaning up a spill I made! Haha!! Sorry team...but they are all top-notch. Far better service and attentiveness than you would expect from a large supermarket. Thank you.

Generally I quite like Pak n save Timaru, staff are friendly, product is good. I recently used their shop and go, and got to the end and unbeknown to me it incorrectly scanned a box of tissues, which was picked up in their random audit. Staff made me feel like I was trying to shop lift, embarrassing. When I told her I was sure I scanned it she said, it was the first thing, I found, (it was the only thing and it wasn’t hiding) Then they eventually told me that they sometimes pick up a ?que code instead of the bar code. I’ve shopped there for years, spent thousands, I have Christmas club account with hundreds in it. Didn’t feel that I wanted to go back. Instead I shared my experience with the manager, when I next went the staff were superb, friendly and my experience was much improved. I have lost permanent confidence in the shop and go, however I believe they have the processes in place to deal with my issues.

I always come here to buy meats, I love to braai. I tried their self-made chicken (looks like kFC at the back where ready-to-go foods are) but didn't like the taste, but they didn't have a deep-fried lasagne slice that was awesome, because it was to easy to eat in a car. They have the best cream buns, with real whip cream, not fake funny tasting cream. Their staff all seemed tired and angry that night, the lady at the counter didn't want to smile back despite of all my attempts, but it could be an off day. We all have those.

Pack and save are my favourite shop. I do all my shopping and my mother's , she is 90years old. The staff are always very helpful. I am so glad that they are so close to me.

For me Pak'nSAVE is a place to be for getting our groceries. I find it easy to go around and its clean. They have veggies, fruits, meat, deli products, breads, cakes, beer, wine, cider and almost everything you need. You can also choose whatever you want as they got variety of everything. Some Asian products are available too. They also got some brands that are very budget friendly. Every week they got different stuff on special, which saves you money.

Wide range of easily found stock, reasonably priced, frequent specials that are well marked, sticky club specials giving petrol discounts at their self serve pumps, and you don't have to wait for someone's coffee to be made before you are served. What else do you want in a supermarket?

Timaru Pak n Save have a lovely set up. Their staff endeavour to give customers a pleasant experience and work very hard and deserve respect from customers. I've seen some rude customers in there from first hand experience and I take my hat off to the staff who work in Pakkies because it isn't as easy as people say it is whether if it's self checkout staff standing there or produce staff stacking fruit for example. Keep up the good work to all you staff on the ground who do the hard yards. You guys keep the ball rolling and I'm proud of you all.

I at 24/12/2019 travelling via Chch to DN. Asked for a box Ter place me groceries. Four staff (& other) were very friendly. I would like to commend Sophia, whom spoke of her love for her job. I'm very impressed. It shows too! WOW!

Once inside everything was fine. It's outside that's the problem. When it's raining the carpark literally floods. Shoppers get soaked. The wonderful men who are outside collecting trolleys from trolley bays are getting soaked. Timaru PakNSave needs a underground carpark like Invercargill has.

PaknSave's appeal is simple... entirely straightforward - if not obvious: No frills shopping for greatest cost savings overall. There are therefore all the tradeoffs... virtually everything imaginable is traded to provide least pain and payment at the checkout lane. Including the equivalent of TRAFFIC WARDENS who refuse your entrance to the shop the quickest way in that you'd like to take... depending on your point of entrance in the Northtown Mall of Timaru. This is distinctly UNcharming behaviour. Still, for what they genuinely and consistently supply... best savings to be found overall virtually anywhere... it can all be overlooked if you are a budget minded shopper. Even with all those tradeoffs... I am very glad Timaru has this store. Saving money these days for most of us ...needs as many stores like PaknSave as possible.
