good to find Countdown supermarket in Waiheke island, it has many varieties to choose from..my son enjoys the free fruit all the time, he always grabs banana.. we shopped some items for dinner, only that the prices in here are a little higher than the ones at Auckland..it has a basement parking, lift and ramp too..

Has everything you need to prep for your Waiheke holiday escape. If you over for the weekend, make this one of you first stops to stock up on drinks and snacks for your accommodation .

I sat in the car park whilst the missus ran in and did a shop, only fair I give a 3 star cos I ain't been inside yaddamean yaddasayn doe.

Good shopping options in Waiheke

Wow great shop for catering our families funeral on the island. We pre ordered cooked chickens, bread, salad, savouries, fruit etc. All the chickens, bread and savouries which were freshly cooked and we just paid and picked it all up. Saved on stress and cooking everything at the church. It was fabulous thank you Waiheke countdown.

The experience was good as usual. Everything we were looking for was in stock. As usual it was supposed to be for just a few items but turned into a $300 mega-shop. 🙄 Loving the electric car charging stations recently installed at Countdown, Waiheke. It gives us another reason to do all our shopping there.

It was a dark and windswept night that last I ventured to the Countdown of Ostend. Basic provisions was all I required, but I left full laden with all the bright wares of the New World; spices; sweet meats and pineapples to name but a few. Truly a spiritual place where the floors do shake underfoot, septuagenarians do complain of Fullers (a local deity) and the official language is Espagnol. Be warned however, do not venture to the latrines! Such filth and degradation I have rarely seen and a putrescent stench that singes the nasal cavity and lingers long into the next day.

Countdown Waiheke is a well placed and good sized supermarket with underground parking and is close to bus stops and central to the other Ostend shops. There is a public toilet inside the supermarket. However if you want a cold drink several of the drinks fridges near the checkouts never seem to be switched on. The lights are off and drinks aren't cold. I usually seek out a drinks fridge where the lights are on and the drinks are cold. I've mentioned this to staff in the past but last time I visited two of the small drinks fridges were not switched on. Apart from this annoying and odd quirk, Waiheke Countdown is very clean and tidy and has friendly staff.

Always got what you need and fair prices.

Shelves threadbare, lack of delivery staff.

A good supermarket easy to use helpful staff and good carpark,but the bus stop means you can not see up the road when the bus is there this is a bit dangerous

Thank goodness for Countdown here on the island so that we don't need to buy and pack everything in the car and ferry here. They've got a pretty expansive wine and beer selection, likely for all the big group parties here. The rest of the store felt well stocked and checkout wasn't too bad. Parking is downstairs with trolley ramps or an elevator up to the store. I can't think of anything else that's really negative.

I was in the supermarket business with Woolworths years ago so I understand the challenges they have. It is a very good store given the logistical issues associated with being on an Island. The staff are great. By and large the store is well stocked. Some stock is not rotated by date as well as it could be but this is way way better then it was. It runs very well.

Beyond expectations!! Fantastic range of products, vast variety catering to all needs. Beats all local stores hands down for cleanliness , friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Other stores could learn from this store.

It's a monopoly so we have to use it. But the lighting is harsh and the underground carpark ugly. The staff are always lovely. But the management could do better keeping popular items stocked.

Everything you need for a supermarket and more, sometimes I wish there was a larger more refined taste section; although in the new building I hope they can divide the sections up to reflect the local local produce interests on the island too. Always had good customer service from local personalities.

The new supermarket is just great. Much larger, with far greater choice than before. Many more helpful staff and thankfully lots more checkouts.

No staff on hand to help you find things..The road access is poorly marked and therefore confusing .single lane car exit leads to congestion. Its expensive .ie jaffa cakes with a one pound price tag printed on them selling for five dollars !

Clean tidy store. Large store, had lots of options. Used self service, lady supervising was a bit oblivious watched us waving at her for assistance for abit before coming to help..

Bigger, better and with self checkouts so no waiting in queues unless you like to. Underground parking so you can go shopping when its pissing down. Alas, Countdown still needs to phase out caged hen eggs though, so no star for that.
