J. F.There is no other shop owner like Nalini from the Shalimar in Aro Valley, under her hard exterior Aunty Na will share her recipes and her life advice if you show her respect. She was a true friend to me and my partner while we lived in aro valley and we keep in touch with her to this day. My favourite four square and unfortunately I haven’t visited again enough although my partner has to get her advice on the perfect spices for a curry. A++++++ place times a million. We live you Aunty Nalini x

W. M.Throughout the course of my second year at university I flatted just up the road from Four Sqaure Shamlimar. I quickly became a regular, and discovered that underneath a moody demeanour, Miss Patel is actually a lovely woman. She took a vested interest in my studies, knew my fellow flatmates, and even kept a watchful eye on my cigarette addiction. Her style of customer service might be described as abrasive to the shallow minded laymen consumer; but in my steadfast opinion she radiates a realness lost in many of today's local dairys and servos. The store offers everything you could possibly need, open late. Many people may complain about the price, but fail to understand you are paying for the conveince, not the product. Furthermore, they stock a wide variety of beer and wine. Her $2 pies were a real life saver during my studies. I came for the pies, but I stayed for Miss Patel.
