First of all, I absolutely love Moore Wilson’s, they have everything you could ever need and more. Delicious smelling food trucks and a massive bulk store. Fresh food market is wonderful and they even have a section for low fodmap cookbooks upstairs which is super uncommon! I decided to try their chook wagon upstairs a few days ago, and let me tell you that chicken was fricking delicious. So juicy and the flavour was amazing. The potato salad and bread rolls were also pretty good. I would’ve appreciated a bit more food for $15 but it was great nonetheless. Off to try the Greek food truck next time 😋

Moore Wilsons, specifically the Wellington city store is brilliant. The fresh produce area is an absolute highlight of the shopping experience. The smell of fresh orange juice hits you as soon as you walk in, as you walk around you can smell also the aroma of freshly ground coffee. The breads and pastries on display not only look fantastic, they taste absolutely amazing. Yes everything tends to be a little more pricey but you are paying for the absolute top quality and the staff are super helpful too.

Here, you will find real food. Healthy and fresh. This is the best market of the capital. Don't miss the freshly pressed Orange juice! As a French guy, I take fromage seriously. This place for the biggest choice I investigates for. The first floor is grocery, at level one, all the cooking tools and dishes. The top floor is a toy shop 🤨. The parking is big enough to always found a free park, and on top of that, it's free! Which is good! Highly recommended.

Great shopping experience. Wide variety of merchandise from budget to premium, and enough staff to assist whatever is required. Very clean and neat. Parking is free, which makes for somewhat of a busy weekend adventure in the parking lot.

I had never been before and it was a good different supermarket. It offer a range of products from to alcohol to homeware and all at good prices. Recommend giving it a try if you haven't been before.

This is where I go to spend too much of my pay check. A Wellington institution where you can just walk around the store with your mouth watering. If you are new to Wellington and love food you have to go here!!!

Fantastic knife sharpening service happens at Moore Wilsons Fresh between 11am & 12 noon, usually on the first Monday of every month. Wrap your blunt knives in a teatowel and rock up around 11am. Cost is $10 each or $9 for more than three knives.

My happy place, a delicious array of foods, their fresh fish and meat section are particularly good. All I can say is visit for yourself

Legendary. Not cheap, but not outrageous if you shop carefully. There are five parts to MWs: the fresh market (lovely lovely); the groceries warehouse; the beer and wine shop; and upstairs the household goods store; St the top, the toy store. We went weekly for over 10 years. We used all the parts of the store on a regular basis and if suggest it is an essential part of living in Central Wellington.

I had a really great wander through the fresh produce section, wish I'd had more time to explore as there was just so much to take in. Would really recommend this place.

Products are wonderful, a little expensive, but the coupon is always great. Quality Service is excellent,sales people friendly and helpful.

Great place to get coffee beans that have roast date on them. On top of this they have a great selection of food at a premium price. Some items are competitively priced while others are marked up a lot. Pastries ar ed amazing and dangerously delicious.

Always love visiting Moore Wilson's! The bread, the cakes, the veggies, the cheese, the sauces, the coffee, the beer, the wine, the books, the knives, the plates, the gadgets, and of course, the staff! And all doing a great job during covid-19👍

Great prices for bulk goods in the trade side and feels very Covid safe and spacious compared to main supermarkets

Wasn’t too busy today so found a car park easily. Hubby needed a per so used their facilities which he rated a 4 out of 5. We wandered around looking at all the good things in the kitchen department and then headed downstairs for our home made Muesli ingredients. The shelves are well stocked and great to buy bulk items with lots of organic options available. Checkout was fast and efficient. It was so tempting to buy a hot chicken from the hot chicken caravan in the car park but we resisted.

Very busy place a little bit pricey great selection of foods to choose from. I go there for the fresh fish which is good

Coming to Moore Wilson's at least a couple times is a must whenever I'm in Wellington. The fresh baked good, cheeses, and local deli goods are amazing. The shopping section is great for all home wares you need, and I always pick up something for the kids upstairs. I love it there.

Look, I'm gonna be honest... I was there for the jumbo bags of lollies. And the coffee. And the smell of the Gisborne oranges being juiced. The sushi, souvlaki and banh mi just at the front door are always great too.

Pretty all gds supermarket. A lot better than countdown and especially heaps better than paknsave. Overall I loved all the isles and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend this to people that need somewhere to shop but are not to smart so they don't shop at New World.

Always a tempting place to shop and most staff are pleasant and helpful but coffee staff today were super slow and not very "connected" to mere customers! (nb: It would be great if there was a choice of a large cup as well.)

Its origins as a catering wholesaler are still very much in evidence but it is now a retail destination including wonderful food items, kitchen equipment, a well stocked liquor store and, so family members tell me, the best toy shop in Wellington. They make a very nice coffee too.

Excellent range of fresh produce, general groceries and homeware. Also has an excellent toy section upstairs with a fantastic selection of quality toys.

Moore Wilson's is hands down the best wholesale supermarket in the Wellington region. Then there's variety upstairs as well as a really good toy shop. the fresh side with so many local and imported deli, bakery, wines, and cheeses. Highly recommended

I love my shopping experience here. I have been shopping here for over twenty years, and I have never, ever been let down. The staff are polite, courteous and know their stuff. The product range is extensive and I always tell myself, "If I can't get any food / grocery related item in Moore Wilson's, I can't get it anywhere else in Wellington and probably order on line." A real icon and a legend of a store. Keep it up Moore Wison's.

Great selection of food. The vegetables and fruit are very fresh, the bakery is fantastic and a great variety of quality meat and fish. Well worth a visit and I guarantee if you go you will not leave the store without buying something, oh and did I mention the staff are friendly and helpful.

Good quality and some very unique products, which I can only find here. But it's also a bit pricey for the day to day stuff. 4 out of 5 because of that.

21 Dec 10 to 6pm. The barista (Hugo, on his name tag) made an excellent cappuccino for me. The rating is for the coffee today, so the barista, Hugo. His service was fine. Usually, customer service varies from friendly to sometimes avoiding to serve (bakery section) but generally okay. When they do not want to serve you, they pretend that they do not see you and try to look very busy by doing something else and walking very busily from one end to the other end in the bakery department.

Go to place for fine cheese, main divide whites and yummy food generally. Can waste a lot of time there. I dont get my general groceries at MW but if you are after nice food, special things, money generally well spent.

Love the selection of fresh produce, fresh breads from a number of local bakeries, and interesting and rare, local products like chocolates, coffees, crackers and muesli.

If you can't find an ingredient here for that oddball recipe, you probably can't find it anywhere. I love the value from buying Grocery products in bigger packs, the huge range of options in Variety, and the five-star quality of foods in Fresh. The Kids section has the best prices for Lego I've seen. Downsides are parking (very clogged when busy) and having to make separate purchases from the separate sections. I always spend more than I plan to, because they have *so* much stuff I want!

This mini supermarket has a very good selection of most items one would expect especially a sweet section. However a better selection of ready-made salads & meals would make the business even better. Steve Franklin Rotorua

This store has a huge variety of food and non food / wholesale items you do not get in other stores. More Wilson's has specialities and all day necessaries in a high quality. My preferred food supplier.

Somebody explain me why there are Countdown, New World, Pack 'n Save around the whole country, but only one Moore Wilson... Damn! I need to order their food online to get their items, can we have a store in Auckland and Christchurch as well? Extremely recommended.

Moore Wilson's is very busy this week before Christmas - expect to have trouble finding a park, but once inside it's not too crowded and no queues apart from in the fresh produce section. Great toy selection as per usual!

A huge range of catering, grocery, fresh produce lines, smaller kitchen appliances, and accessories, all at competitive prices. You are sure to find several things you didn't know you needed, until you see them. Well worth a visit.

Grocery item's are really good and of quality. A bit pricey than other supermarkets but it's worth it. However, the bulk items are cheaper. I come here every once in a while. Lots of free range/vegan/organics products.

Good store, lots of options, excellent produce, great bakery, and even a decent beer & wine selection.

Everything you need and moore. Great value when buying in bulk and the fresh produce is a great place to pickup picnic snacks along with fresh bread for the road. Liquor section have friendly staff who always have an excellent recommendation to make. The upstairs utility section has some great stuff at a quality level above the competition (Briscoes and co.) at very decent value. Highly recommended one-stop-shop for all things food.

Came here today with my partner. Honestly I have never seen such good service from a store before. The products are fresh and excellent pricing. I would come back but unfortunately I do not base in Auckland.

Great shop lovely fresh foods

The best place for non-occasional quality food shopping. Incredible, varied and changing products. As a non-professional, bulk section is still perfect for culinary projects. The sightly more expensive prices for non-members is worth it, full support for somewhat alternative consumption that plain supermarkets for a healthier society! Alternative supermarkets are put tu shame.

Wellington institution, choose from a selection of breads, pastries and cakes from some of Wellingtons best along with wide array of cheeses, meats, coffee, fruit , veges and wine. And that's not even talking about the bulk section or variety...

Today we went looking for brunch in the area between the waterfront and Moore Wilson's. Places were busy and there were lots of Asian eateries but despite living in Asia for 9 years I didn't feel like bao or dumplings. We ended at Moore Wilson's with it's own special smell emminating from the fresh market. A lady with her arms full of cheeses lamented the fact that she was boarding a plane for Tauranga soon and couldn't take any more. A man we shared the only sit down table with, kept looking towards the cheese room and said he'd bought a few cheeses but he didn't think he'd bought enough. That's the thing about Moore Wilson's, it's so packed full of NZ specialty foods that there is a lovely feeling of never getting to the end of the delights. It's a Wellington icon, a weekend pleasure, and a treasure hunt all in one place.

This place is fantastic. A great selection of bulk products. The fresh foods always looked great. Got some sweet treats today. Not cheap but very tasty.

They got everything, just walk in there, they have a fresh section, a dry store section, alcohol section, electronics section, and the list goes on... The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Over all a big 10 out of 10

Great have all I need and good coffee

I buy my wine online from Moore Wilson. Although the selection is nowhere near as extensive as the Tory st store its still great. The service is fantastic.

One of my favourite shops in Wellington. It has a lot of cool stuff, some unusual food and great wine selection. But more over it has a unique history and atmosphere!

I love this place and have been shopping here for years. Great range and good prices. But why only 4 stars you ask? It’s a victim of its own success and can be unpleasantly busy! If you can get in early before the hipster wannabes and pretentious soccer mums arrive you be all good.

This is a store that feels like an exciting high quality market. The produce is fresh and the variety of items on offer is great.

Excellent cheese and wine selection. Dropping half a star because it's full of entitled baby boomers who are unable to do basic things like use credit cards, but I will round up because the other reviews seem to indicate the checkout staff sass them which is a good thing in my book.

Fantastic supermarket with excellent produce a a great range of products. Not the cheapest but definitely high quality and if you are looking for choice, this is it! Amazing bakery and cake selection too - impossible to resist!

If you want to buy in bulk, go to the grocery section. We buy big bags of nuts, rice, lentils and frozen berries or vegetables here. You can buy big bags of ravioli, and cheese in bulk. They also have packaging and other supplies. Upstairs is homewares, including small kitchen appliances at great prices. The Fresh section has gourmet everything, including a great selection of bread and cakes from all the local bakeries, as well as butchery, fromagerie, fruit and vegetables, fishmonger and even a cafe. If you can't find a food in Moore Wilson, it probably isn't available in NZ.

More Wilson's is a great supermarket. It feature everything from bulk foods, to a comprehensive alcohol store, to fresh market produce and home appliances. The pricing ranges from some things being cheaper than a regular supermarket to being overly expensive. You can also find many products here that standard supermarkets do not carry.

Not the cheapest supermarket by any means but, good selection of goods and quite a lot if diversity. Expect better customer service than your regular supermarket.

Good store lots of variety can be a bit pricey for some things but generally good prices. Very busy at weekends.

The store is made of two parts: grocery and homeware. Grocery part sells fresh produce, good selection of seafood (even live lobsters), beautiful flowers and freshly squeezed orange juice. The other part of the store has excellent range of homeware from bed sheets to vacuum cleaner, most things are on the pricy end but are of excellent quality. Limited number of parking, has bike stand, easy stroll from most places in town.

Lovely old fashioned style business, clean friendly with a huge array of food types and products for everyone. Very nice.

Usually a great shopping experience with Moore Wilson's. But, a little disappointed today to discover they offer no incentive to re-use your bottle/rig for beer refills. They include the rig in the price of the fill, and give no discount for bringing in your own. Most places charge for the rig to encourage such practices. The employee who filled the rig looked puzzled when I handed him my own bottle, so obviously they don't have many bringing their own to cut down waste. Bit of a shame.

Brilliant destination store. Trade area, food service and hospitality, catering and homewares, cookbook shop, wine shop, bakery, huge cheese selection, fruit and veg, seafood and butchery. Even a home baking section! You need a Moore Wilson's card to shop here, so just pick up a form instore. They've been operating since 1918 and the quality is superb. Lots of parking upstairs and also outside the wine and trade shops. Wish there was one of these in Auckland.

Arrived this morning all the way through a storm & heavy traffic from Kapiti at 7.05am hoping to be able to pick up a fresh turkey that was advertised at as being available on 19th & 20th Dec (no pre-orders allowed). Staff at poultry counter said there were only frozen turkeys; eventually spoke to a supervisor who informed that the advertised turkeys hadn't arrived as at 20th & suggested I call first to check. Perhaps a BETTER solution would be for MW to put out a clear notice that the delivery was delayed, so we don't have to travel here to discover it is AWOL somewhere in NZ !!! The least that could have been offered in the case of regular customers was to TAKE a blimmin' pre-order & collect payment !!!

Service is always friendly. Nothing compares to the ecclectic variety at Moore Wilsons. Missing some of the products that have not been available.

While a bit on the pricey side Moore Wilson's have an incredible range of great produce, meat and dairy and most things I ever need/want, and typically of outstanding quality. The "chook wagon" on the first floor car-park makes some of the best rotisserie chicken I've ever eaten, and is worthwhile being the top picture for the shop, as it floods the surroundings with an incredible smell of delectable chicken :)

Fresh produce, including, wild meats & other unusual products. A good Wholesale shop, for the Home, Hotel, Motel, Resteraunt, open to the public, who have a 'moore-wilson' access card. Has off street parking, & a lift, to access the upper floors.

Always excellent, great food line up even if its a bit crowded with Xmas shoppers

Great collection of every house hold stuffs. A bit expensive but good quality. Parking is available here at any time.

If you want a tasty chicken wrap or the most unbelievably great buttermilk fried chicken burger - you cannot go wrong. It also does a line in excellent rotisserie chicken (and on a Friday, duck).

There's nowhere like it in NZ. Part amazing hospo supplier, part amazing fresh produce vendor, part deli+bakery, part booze shop, all awesome.

You can find so much local / NZ food here plus there's a bunch of variety. The staff are also super helpful and nice especially if you get lost trying to find something since the store is split up into a few buildings.

So I was going to this market on a Sunday morning. Bathany had invited some of her friends around to celebrate their recent eventing success. My husband Grahame had promised the girls French toast (or as we call it, toast), and so I obviously needed to prepare it. Imagine my horror to discover that Moore Wilsons not only didn't have brioche, they also didn't seem to understand why I was so distressed at not being able to meet my little girl's needs. Bethany's friends were so disappointed in the Italian loaf I had to buy, and I'm sure that it will be talked about at my book club on Wednesday. So disappointed. Four stars.

With no other centre in town like Moore Wilson's, it's easy to see why this place is swarming with people and queues of cars waiting for parking on the weekend. A higher price point for most things, but a selection second to none in the city.

Combine a farmers market, a boutique produce store, and a giant cheese wheel fridge with a fresh juice stall and you have Moore Wilsons. Even if you don't buy anything, it is well worth a visit just to gawp at the cheese wheels.

Really, really good customers service. This is based on my latest experience at Kitchen and Home department. Will buy anything there again.

Great grocer to wander round reduced star rating because they add 2% to credit card transactions. Plenty of custom there I question the need for this.

Great place if you are looking for artisan cheeses and salamis. Fruit and vegetables are a bit expensive though but the overall experience is still awesome.
