My nearest Countdown to home and as usual it was perfunctory, clean, tidy and had everything I needed. It never looks like they have enough tills open but actually you rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes to he served. Usually it's best to see the lines and if they look long...go and buy yourself a treat and by the time you get back the line will he shorter. There is a definite ebb and flow to the lines.

Collect my big online grocery shop from here and occasionally pop in for the odd thing in between. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The odd time I've had to wait a little bit for my trolley to come out but other than that, it's been great. Order is always packed well and rarely does anything need substitution. Shop is always clean and products are well stocked.

Good prices, few good specials that I took advantage off. Only problem I found was that since I don't often shop here often it did take me a few minutes to find all the things I was looking for 😅. However the friendly team pointed me in the right direction, so thanks guys! Overall pleasant shopping experience, good place to go for a full family shop or just if you need a few things.

Such a good selection of products, I just wish they would get back to packing the bags for you. I only use the self checkout for small orders so when I go through manned checkouts it is for larger orders. The staff particularly the younger staff just keep piling the groceries and pushing them down the bench with no regard for the types of groceries. The bread gets flattened, everything is gumbled together and then they get you to pay before you have finished packing and watch impatiently while you pack the bags and don't help. They need to improve.

I have mixed feeling about this place. Matt who does the trolleys is always friendly and accommodating 2. One of the checkout operators lets the place down. She has been polite enough to me but I have observed her as being short and rude to others and on one occasion she made what I would consider a racist remark, not realizing I am Maori - in relation to a nit shampoo purchase. Often I find the wait in checkout lines too much and wonder if they have enough staff on at peak times.

Hi I like it cause the buss goes threre and I can do my shopping thanks if I had money I'd like to get started shopping. Wish I could pay my power bill so I can cook food I'm down to 93kg I'm on my way to my doctors advise pertaining to my height 123kg down to 85kg what I'm supposed to be I suppose I could be over weight because of a heavy heart because my children all of them are in Australia.Cheers mate take care NZ countdown is great happy shopping

They are great places to shop and always have everything you need for any occasion. Reasonably priced wine and beer, soft drinks, water etc. Snacks, nibbles, ice-cream and other assorted frozen food is always well stocked and readily available.

Outstanding service! We live an hour from town, on Saturday I had placed an online order and my husband went in to collect it. When he got home I realised a box was missing and it was all my fresh goods I needed for the weekend (we run tourist accommodation). I rang the store and within 1.5 hours from the time of my call a delivery driver arrived with our missing box all packed in cool bags. I couldn't have asked for better - thank you Countdown Whanganui.

Countdown Wanganui is convenient for me as it's on the way to and from everywhere I go. Has all the usual things I need each week and speciality items for those unique meals. It's large enough to have the quantities I want and small enough to zip through when I'm in a hurry. Grocery items are always changing around but you can usually find someone to help you find what you need.
