B.Great choices, competitive pricing, good bakery and great delicatessen. Checkout doesn't pack, but that is compensated by the number of checkouts ooerating and speed of dealing with clients.
R.A big, and great place to shop with a lot of ideas displaying goods.
The staff are helpful and seem happy in their own skin gud on yah.
I would shop there again when in the area.
J.I was pleasantly surprised by how big and open the store is, I very rarely shop here. They don't stock a lot of items I would usually shop for but the prices are reasonable and it's very clean and tidy.
W.Friendly dedicated staff making shopping as comfortable as they can under Covid-19 protocols, shelves adequately stocked and quantities well controlled to ensure enough for everyone to go by. e.Very busy and can get crowded
Great place to shop. Hot takeaway food - roast meat chicken veges. Trouble is its cold by the time you get through checkout. Don't like that. Maybe relocate that department to front foyer. Can be done, lotto doesn't need all that space.

C.I used to love pak n save however, like all other shops at the moment, prices are out the gate! I done a top up shopping and only filled a little trolley during $5 week and it cost the same as the shopping I done 2 weeks prior when I over filled a large trolley 😪 I'm definitely looking forward to prices dropping again.
V.Big store, great variety. Perfect if it had self checkout
M.Had heard stories that to avoid this place, total opposite. Plenty of space to move in the aisles and good range of fruit, vege,meat and your other needs.Service was quick and efficient, parking lot was a bit small so could be a challenge during peak times.
D.Great store just picked the most crowd day to shop. Solved the problem just bought 12 items. So quick shopping and saved money.

M.Value for money, but their meat is poor quality, I use another butcher. Grocery bill on average is $20-35 cheaper than competitors.

Poor NZ'ers are being ripped off by rapacious non-competitive price fixing of too few suppliers
But Pak'nSave Whangarei was a good fit for me today. Friendly staff, as usual.
I'd just like to see more in my trolley for a bit less.
I still want the growers to be properly supported
And less plastic packaging.

A special shout out to the wonderful online shopping click and collect staff. They take a huge amount of care with their selections and do a great job, they are pleasant and helpful. Not being a tech whiz I’ve sought help a few times and they are so patient. We travel from Mangawhai and it’s been very stressful being cut off during level 4 and they have been marvellous and reassuring. Thank you so much Blessings from Judith and Seán Treacy 🙏💙

H.I bought pickled pork on Saturday and the Monday it was green and smelt it had in the fridge so no way so eating it getting sick. Not first time I had rotten from delli.

A.I found most of the groceries I was looking for. There were a few items which according to their website they had, but I couldn't find them. I was concerned about the lack of control to the amount of customers going into the store. New World still has controlled queques going in, Countdown there was a queque, not sure how controlled it was.

R.Busy. Dont normally shop here but was with a friend. Produce looked nice and fresh as did the butchery. A few shelves depleted of goods but this could probably be due to delays in shipping. Clean and tidy and plenty of parking although we did find it hard at the time we were there
T.The customers make this place somewhere I won't go again, the great unwashed... hand dryer in the bathroom was really good at least.

J.Pack in save was great I use to work here in 1984 but it wasn't pack in save then it was culled (Mark l'N Pack) in 1984 plus it was a smaller shop back then I'll never forget it (John Banks) open the doors and there was a lot of people that worked in because there were alot of special on just about everything plus they had a barbecue on outside and softdrinks it was great they had a lot of entertainment going on that day sometimes i was I can turn back the clock
F.My favourite store but disgusted at the condition of the public toilet resently. Had an emergency need while shopping and made use of the facilities. It resembled the looks of a longdrop. The managers excuse was not acceptable, surely it's not rocket science to provide better service?

H.A good supermarket this one here in Whangarei, somehow it seems to have what I'm looking for in stock, and the expiration dates for the items are always within range, also not to mention that it is always pleasantly clean including the toilets. I'm always greeted with a very welcoming hello along with a good chat with the checkout staff whom always seem to be very interested, engaged and very helpful I would recommend this pak'nsave to anyone...

D.I get my bulk groceries from this store as it is great value for money. However, I won't buy mangos here as they are picked too green and go black before they ripen. Expensive and foul tasting. Staff are friendly and helpful.

M.Just want to say I got the everyday basmati rice 'urja' this week and I love the packaging, the bags are zipped, and have an inner bag, and the bag has handles, it is so not 'plastic' and 'one use' I love it, I wish more packaging and presentation of products was done like this. It feels as though a lot of care was taken with this product. Keeping the bags to use for other things; a bit trendy..... Thanks.

H.A huge grocery store in a good location close to the town basin. Easy access and exit to a large, free carpark. Just like other PaknSave stores with lots of bargains and specials if you look closely. The only gripe I have is that they do not have Self Checkout.
It is annoying having to line up when I only have a few items.

A.Its a grocery store with groceries! The largest in the area with the most product but not necessarily the most variety. Best for bulk buyers (but most Paknsaves are!).

S.Well pak'nsave is back to normal it's so good, shelves are all stocked there are no lines and checkouts are moving quickly. Staff are friendly and did an amazing job during lockdown especially staff in charge of the lines well done. It's good to have thing back to how they should be

A.Most people like this Pak n Save especially those on budgets or cash strapped customers and/or big families. Meat is cheaper than other stores (e.g. steak $12kg or $15kg but in $70- $100+ meat blocks). Heard a complaint about veges not being fresh but find out for yourself. Kumara did have holes in. Typical big store attitude.
C.Find it eratating to pack my own groceries after. Would not mind to pack it as cashier is ringing products but struggle at the packing counter.
M.Layout is good with the specials right at the front and there's always good deals with the baking. Staff are nice too

L.First time ever iI did an online shop. Managed to pick up ok. However sadly when I got home did not have detergent milk butter yogurt tomato sauce eggs and other stuff. Did not find out till I got home. I am an hour drive from Whangarei so was rather disappointed. Making a trip next week to get what was missed and not so sure about on line shopping after this experience.

L.Big, clean, well stocked and plenty of parking... everything i like about a supermaket. Added bonus it has a toilet for customers use and also has a lotto outlet in the foyer.
L.Very busy lots of people around tomato bin @ $1.99kg. Was a quick shop for something specific and out again

j.Was an experience trying to navigate wheelchair trolley around supermarket. Think there needs to be a slightly bigger version as cant get much in them two trips to complete shopping.

C.It was ok. Just popped in to quickly grab a drink from the chiller at the front desk and they only had really random stuff like coke no sugar and the green lift plus. In all 3 drink chillers so I had to run around the whole store to find something more basic to drink but it wasnt even cold 😂

N.I love shopping at Pak n save but I always feel rushed because they have so many shoppers wanting your space or walking into your space you have to walk around them customers are usually polite and courteous so that is a bonus also there is never enough boxes to pack shopping in it would be nice as these are butter for packing into my truck than plastic backs are thank you
m.Favourite grocery store, significantly cheaper and good efforts to provide upscale grocery items as well. Very convenient store hours, great meat and fish deals.

E.Went in early to avoid the crowds but when I arrived there was almost no parking and the line of people was right around past the carpark by where Mad Butcher was.Extremely busy.
J.Great selection of goods but went there first thing in morning and found I had to wait at check out for 10 mins as it was really busy with shop owners buying stock for their shops as some had 2 trolleys. Found that frustrating as I was in a hurry.
J.They are never short of staff their service are quick and efficient they are well stocked, named, numbered ,
in each ale.Groceries are cheaper especially if you shopping for a large family
F.Has everything you need for a supermarket: a good selection of good quality produce, food and general goods. Can get pretty busy on the weekends. I recommend asking the fresh produce department for boxes if you don't want to buy plastic bags or don't have your own bags. The point of the Pak in Pak'n Save is that you pack your shopping in boxes, but a lot of the boxes get flattened and can be hard to get a hold of.
C.Would be a five star review if you didn't have to fight your way through produce at every visit. Apart from that. great place to shop.. best prices and wide aisles...

L.I really enjoy shopping at Whangareis Pak and Save. The aisles are wonderfully spacious and products are well signposted and easy to find. The whole shop seems clean and well maintained. And it's cheaper than most other supermarkets. That's awesome!
A.Cheap supermarket lots of parking. Boxes or you can purchase reusable or plastic bags. They do run out of popular items and sometimes it takes a while for them to restock items.
H.Best prices in town. Selection a bit lacking but still the best place for shopping.
M.My supermarket of joice. Like most supermarkets it offers specials and discounts on selected items.
T.The store is typical of PAK'nSAVE it has its stock piled high with some being sold at a good price and other items being at a higher price than their competitors. The staff are friendly, but it lacks the atmosphere of some of its competitors.
J.Prices are great, shop is clean and there are some very friendly staff in the store that will go out of their way to help you with whatever you are looking for . However there are a couple of checkout supervisors that either have a lot of bad days or are generally grumpy and not very helpful at all.

L.PAK'nSAVE is by far the cheapest grocery store, I've found, in New Zealand. You can't get everything you might need here but it's great for everyday shopping needs.
I shop here to get my weekly essentials. Eggs, bread, milk, cream, cereal etc... They don't have a huge international section, but for those things I can't get here, like some international foods, I go to another store. Luckily, here in Whangarei, nothing is too far away so it's really no hassle to pop into another shop for whatever special thing I need for a dish I'm making.
Surprisingly, I've found that their meat is very good quality at PAK'nSAVE. I do use a butcher for some specialty items, but other than that I'm buying most of my meat here. If you keep your eye out you can snag a really good deal on meat that's getting close to the sell by date. As long as you're happy to make it that night you can really save a lot of money like this.
Since I've moved back to NZ, I've been pretty shocked to see how expensive food has gotten here! I really don't see why that's the case as one of NZ's largest exports is food? So I'm a little puzzled by the overinflated prices for produce. I have noticed that the farmer's markets are a much better bet to save money on since things. For instance, at Countdown they were selling avacados for $6 a piece! At the farmers market they were $1 a piece. At PAK'nSAVE they were $2 a piece. Please, someone, explain that logic? NZ grows so many avacados, why the huge discrepancy?
Back to PAK'nSAVE, I really feel that the store is clean and tidy and the employees are very friendly and professional. I love saving money wherever I can so I will be shopping here from now on. There's no reason to pay more than you have to. So I recommend PAK'nSAVE to literally save you more $!

l.New owners. The ambience has changed. Customer service is AAA+. Staff are smiling, connected, focused and engaged. Wow.....its a different experience. They have the 'x' factor in shopping.
D.Have mostly shopped at Pac n save for the 14 years I've lived in whangarei however recently prices are steadily rising , most annoying recently was the huge 2 dollar rise in the price of tray eggs, then the swap from 30 to 20 eggs to a tray which also went up by a dollar a tray within a week of introduction, we are now paying about 50 cents less to twenty eggs than we did for 30. I don't like being treated like a fool by greedy new store owners so think newcworld is looking good, still NZ owned.

J.Was concerned with the entrance area where you grab your trolley, the area was very wet yesterday the 9/08/17. Any body mopping up ? Otherwise enjoy shopping everything available. Spent $300 plus
R.Good prices on shoulder pork roast. Tip top ice cream. Tux dog biscuits. Whittaker so chocolate bars. Dog bones. Budget bread. Laundry powders.
M.Pac'insave Whangarei is a good place. But since new management i note a lot of increases. I love biscuits especially Huntey Palmer crisp bread. From old managment to new manament my biscuits have increased by about 40 cents a packet. "Why "? I am now finding countdown Regent to be cheapet for meat and dog food. My husband died 12 months ago and got look after his dog. But I notice things going up and up. Not very impressed. And lastly i love a brand of Gisborne wine. It use to chilled. Now we get warm. I have spoken to wine personal and his answer was they were getting to much theif. As they wont chill my average $$ bottle I hope there light handle people will take there $ 30 $50 bottles. Does not make sence to me.
P.It's a big box supermarket, they have the brands I like and their prices are good. At least they are locally owned.
Y.pretty good to shop here, they just need to start selling jaffa cookies now as the mad butcher is no longer and we used to get them from there .

P.Definitely my supermarket of choice in Whangarei with good prices, service and relatively handy to home. When I'm shopping, I prefer to do so when the store is relatively uncrowded, but these times seem to be fewer and fewer.
m.I like how it is set up so one doesn't have to go through the meat section to shop but would appreciate the vegan products to be further away from the meat and would love more vegan selections.

Don't stock everything you might want, but worthwhile doing the bulk of your shopping there and just getting the stuff they might not have elsewhere.
