I have had things altered and also fixed up, wonderful service, very knowledgeable & beautiful work, I will be back

This place was recommended to me so I was excited to try it out. I wanted some pants shortened and I called up beforehand to get a quote on how much it would cost. I came into the store and the lady was welcoming and nice and quickly asked for the lengths. She then gave me an invoice and told me I could pay after the alterations were done. I was very happy with the service and was ready to give it 5 stars. However, I noticed afterwards that the prices on the invoice were higher than the quotes she told me beforehand. When picking up my altered pants, I asked her why the prices were higher than she originally told me. I asked more questions because I was generally curious (because this was the first time I was getting pants altered) and she became extremely defensive and started lecturing me as if I was trying to get a bigger discount. She said stuff along the lines of 'Do you think I'm cheating you?' and 'Look at the two different stitches, you can obviously see the work I've done. Why don't you trust me?'. I immediately felt unwelcome and just wanted to leave as soon as possible. As I was leaving and thanking her for her service, she stopped me and told me about how her services are better than other places. And while I understand why she was doing this, she was explaining it quite harshly and firmly and basically told me 'I gave you amazing service and you talk to me like this? Why do you ask so many questions now and not before at the counter? You should know this'. How am I supposed to know these things when I have never gotten pants altered before? I asked questions so I could understand, not to seem rude and trying to cheat her out of money. The alterations she did on my pants were well done, but after that interaction, I feel like I'm not welcome there anymore.

Eunice has been my go-to for many years now, and I she has become a dear friend. I appreciate her thoughtfulness and expertise when I need to alter clothes to fit my not-so-standard body shape. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
