Great venue and well paced courses. Went for the shared menu and that was absolutely the right choice. In particular the slow cook lamb shoulder was absolutely delicious. Also went with the wine pairing which was a great choice as they were very well matched. Staff were attentive but not intrusive made for a really memorable evening meal out especially given this was our 40th wedding anniversary.

A favourite place to grab a meal when we are in the area. 5 star service and food. The highlight this time was the unique dessert, grilled chocolate cake that we almost passed on. Very unique and worth trying.

Well to start with the vista of the Te Mata peak, and the Craggy range, mixed in with the excellent and beautiful landscaped property is just awesome. Then there was to food, no words it was just delicious and the accompanying wine is just adds to the flavor. Staff now the staff was exceptional full knowledge of the menu and ingredients, so those with allergies can rest easy. Also do the wine cellar, it is amazing and the story behind the family company is pretty darn cool.

Usually full, make sure you book first! Amazing dining experience and everything was very tasty. The chef selection course is quite a large portion of food. My girlfriend said she wanted to rate it 10/5 😁

Craggy Range is an idealic setting with a great view of the ranges and beautiful grounds. We visited on a colder day they had the woodfire burning making it a cosy atmosphere. We enjoyed the shared menu with the matched wines, everything was delicious and artfully presented, the beef tartare was a particular highlight. Feeling more decedent than your average meal out, it will definately set you back more but Craggy Range Restaurant is a great place to treat yourself or celebrate a special occasion.

Thoroughly enjoyed our shared menu lunch on Monday, matched with wine over 6 courses. Great value, great service (thanks Elliot) the food and wine was outstanding, one of our better meals ever. Lunch was served at a very relaxed pace so we could enjoy the atmosphere, food and wine. Will be back.

Tuesday late afternoon, amazing experience and my most favorite winery in hawkes bay! Unexpected and detailed explanation for wine tastings (compared with others). The young British sommelier provided us with dedicated experience and the story behind wine, fantastic hospitality and knowledge. Just love it. Sorry for forgetting asking the name.

Had a 20 mins wait for wine tasting. Went to restaurant for wine and chips (food was a covid requirement) who gave us a seat outside in their amazing venue. Outdoor surrounding were amazing. Service was excellent. Love this place. Hawkes bay weather superb!

The staff here were more then amazing and helpful. The wines excellent. We stayed in one of the cottages and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend eating at the restaurant I’m still craving those mushrooms. Wishing I could give more then five stars. We will be back.

The setting and the grounds are stunning. In a couple of big modern buildings clearly used for events and tourism. The restaurant was mixed. It clearly took itself very seriously. Literal white gloves used to lay the glasses and cutlery on the tables. It was stuffy and trying very hard, which did not make me feel comfortable at all. The food was good, but not life changing for the price (which was quite expensive). But the potions were refreshingly large while also being high quality. Really liked the farm-to-table approach. Much of the ingredients are grown right there on the farm. So the plates are fresh and seasonal.

Tonight was a bit disappointing. We've been to Craggy multiple times before and have always loved our time there. We took my partner's dad for his birthday after raving about Craggy for over a year now. Definitely not as we remembered. In the past, we've always been offered additional bread, never had to wait very long, and always felt as if we were paying a good price for what we got. This was not the case tonight. We waited a good fifteen minutes just to order dessert while the staff prepped for lunch tomorrow. I mentioned the wait time when I paid and felt as if my complaint was brushed off. I'm not looking for anything, just for fellow hospo staff to recognize wrongs and apologize for them. I was hoping to bring my mom there for a lovely day at the winery next month and am now considering different options. I hope this was just a fluke and it will be nicer in future visits.

If you are a fan of Craggy Range wine, make sure you visit this restaurant. The food is great, simply delicious. Has lots of wine to pair with. Beautiful view of the lake and steep mountain at the other end. You can just sit, enjoy the food and wine for hours. Note that the average price per dish is about $40.

We did the mid level wine tasting which was a great spread of wines of different prices and ages with an explanation of the terroir of each and the company's history. There are more options in terms of tasting than lots of wineries with a gorgeous indoor and outdoor space.
