I had two great experiences in this estate, the people were friendly and included their expert opinion as well as keeping my wants in mind. They were amazingly friendly and despite being new to the area I felt very comfortable around them. Got my seconds and helix done and am looking forward to making modify tattoo and piercing my #1 place to go.

Been a regular here for years. Got my belly done elsewhere 3 times and each time it got infected. Decided to go here for fourth time and it's been in and fine ever since. James has done a few tattoos for myself and my partner and hes good at giving you exactly what you want. Done some freehand stuff and I was very impressed!

I was informed of after care, the lovely lady who did my nasal and Madonna piercings was very helpful in after care, 6wk until I can swap my Madonna with the gem with her help. Top tier staff and services. I could not recommend Modify enough!!! If you are looking to get pierced or tatted up, look no further! Staff are absolute legends, extremely kind and genuine people. Whaea Sue was bloody awesome to yarn with! My mother and sister had both recently gotten their nose pierced at Adorn in Botany. After experiencing swelling and sinking of their piercings we came in needing help! Jess was absolutely amazing, she advised them of the improper sized/shaped nose bar and changed them both over to a longer bar with a securing back to prevent it falling out! HYGIENE here is the best we have ever witnessed, every piece of equipment was sanitised and in a medical grade bag. Her work space was sanitised before and after use and everything she used was also sanitised before use as well as wearing gloves! Overall such a standout team and place to go. Will be recommending to anyone and everyone wanting tattoos or piercings done :) thank you team!!

Had a great first ear piercing experience... Thanks to the wonderful lady who pierced em, the service was nice, and very easy going.... I went for my nose piercing and it was quick and easy.. very clean as they use all sterilised equipments.. my piercing is healing well since then the only reason I am giving them a 4 is because I had selected a different stud a light pink one but the piercer dint notice I guess and pierced with a white one which was the only stud I dint really want and so I went for the light pink one is the first place

I found Modify using Google reviews and I was not dissapointed! Jess was fantastic. Very professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. I had four piercings done and I already have plans to go back for more. Like literally, I want to go back tomorrow! Great prices, seriously clean and excellent service. Highly recommend them! Added Bonus: Their receptionist, Sue (I think), is like a bottle of sunshine in a pinup girl dress! Love the energy and positivity on arrival.

Got my septum done today, nice and quick, James did a great job! Still hurt of course, great customer service though, definitely going to go there for my next piercings and my future tattoos! I went in with a Migraine to get a Daith Piercing. It was over and done with in a few minutes and the migraine had subsided considerably. I am now home with no migraine. Lovely clean environment with lovely staff. Will be back again

I got a VCH piercing here back in December 2019 and I have zero complaints! It healed perfectly and looks amazing. Jessica was lovely and I absolutely got my value for money. I was scared before coming in but easily, I felt comfortable. I would definitely come back for another piercing. Super quick and sterile process and I also loved the selection of jewellery avaliable! I couldn't recommend it more :)

I suffered from a miscarriage, I wanted to get a tattoo to simbolise this for myself, I had a guy draw it up and i was not impressed with the art work, I heard good things about Primal so i went and showed James the tattoo design, he immediately told me the issues with it, Then he drew up what i wanted, AND IT WAS PERFECT! That same week i got my tattoo done, and was more then impressed, it meant to much to be that it was perfect. I showed him a home job on my neck and he told me how he can also fix it. I went to a place in the city for piercings, and i was having issues with them, So i decided to go back to James to ask his advice, which he did and i was very impressed at his knowledge, he helped me to heal one and i took out the other and he re pierced again. No problems at all. Then i got my industrial done by Jess, who did a amazing job and such friendly service. I love that when i come in you get treated well .and have a fun friendly chat. Last of all i got a arm piece done by James, AND ITS AMAZING!! I love it so much, and i get complements wherever i go, people tell me how much they love it and ask me where i got it done. I believe and no1 else could have done a better job then James at my tattoos, and its because of this that i will not go anywhere else, which i must add they are also a great price!! I will be going back for not only more tattoos but for two others to be fixed up! Highly recommended to all!

I have had 3 piercings done here (by two different people) and they have never failed to make me feel comfortable while getting them done. I have fainted though these and they have been there to calm and comfort me. They are genuine people who are always there to spend a little more time helping when needed. Top job by a top artist the atmosphere is great staff are all professional had a full day session and no request were difficult or too hard great banter and some of their regulars make for a light hearted environment bring on the next arm. Since I have worked at Primal, I have seen it change dramatically for the better, there are proper systems in place to ensure the customers needs are met and everything runs smoothly. When I started working here it suffered from bad staffing choices but the owner and I have worked long and hard to turn this into an efficient, caring friendly environment. Also, in my experience I have had 2 tattoos done by James, both beautiful, I love them so much! I got a cat portrait done and some scripture along with a design around it on my back, check them out on the shop Facebook page.

All of my piercings were done at Primal piercing. James Lyon is one of the fastest, sterile and efficient piercers I've seen. I have been to other studios to watch people get things done and I get uncomfortable with their cleanliness and efficiency as I've grown accustomed to the standard at primal piercings. I've also received a tattoo from primal aswell and watched various others. James spends time prior to the tattoo setting up and preparing a sanitary environment for his work. The amount of care he puts into his work makes me feel confident in going to this studio for stuff. Recommend this studio if you're interested in quality work, not just what's cheapest or fastest.

What a day! Went between work shifts for a road trip with the crew and had the best day at Modify. Between us we got helix, stacked lobe, nose, septum and a gorgeous tattoo in there, and just for added excitement, had to be back at work in Pukekohe by 2...WE MADE IT!!!! Can't thank you guys enough. Brilliant customer service, banter and friendliness, not to mention we were walk-ins! We love what we got and will be back. Love to you from Lucy, Vicki, Casey & Evana 💚
