I booked in with Otautahi Tattoo in Auckland after I had a less than desirable experience elsewhere. From the moment I called in too book an appointment with Baz, Bobby picked up the phone and had amazing customer service and communication skills. He was excited as I was that I was coming in, and really made me feel welcome. He answered all my questions and passed on all the information to Barron, the artist doing my tattoo. Barron was really friendly and professional with his questions and his whole process to ensure I felt comfortable. Not only is Barron's artwork amazing but also quite skilled with his machine and I didn't feel too much pain for the majority of the time. The energy in the tattoo shop was positive, which was very refreshing and all other team members were friendly and approachable. If I could offer any kind of feedback to make my personal experience a full 5 star experience is that having more interaction with artist beforehand (Where possible) would be great. I'm a very organized and structured person therefore I believe with more interaction with my artist would have helped me better understand and communicate my ideas more clearly. Overall I had an amazing experience, time passed quickly, and I felt confident being in this shop that I was in great hands; for my future tattoo's after completing my sleeve, Otautahi Tattoo will the first place I consider returning too, and if you're reading this considering your tattoo, definitely give them a call!

I got my first tattoo with these guys and it was the best decision I made. I'm so glad I chose Otautahi for my first tattoo. What a spiritual experience. From beginning to end, I commend the professionalism, authenticity and interpersonal skill. I was booked in with Jordan, who was by far one of the greatest free hand artists I had ever seen. It was a surreal experience to have him draw pure inspiration on my arm, to represent my wife’s culture and also my connection to the land. I can not recommend Jordan or any of the other artists there more highly.

Ellis is a true artist and an insightful teacher of Tikunga Maori. He reworked a previous piece on my shoulder and added a lot of additional very fine detail. The prayer in te reo as he started made the whole experience quite spiritual and meaningful. Nga mihi bro. Can't wait for the next part of the journey.

My wife and I are headed back to Canada tomorrow and decided that we would like to commemorate our visit to New Zealand. We called and asked if we could in today and we were given a time! We were surprised to get into the shop in the same day! The shop was very clean and well lit; the artists were professional, friendly and very helpful! Special thanks to Brian for staying late to finish our work and take care of us so pleasantly! We would HIGHLY recommend this shop. I would give it a 6 if I could!
