I cannot speak more highly of Kakapo Ink. My first time, I actually arrived as they were closing, but one of the artists very kindly offered to do my piece anyway. The staff were lovely, knowledgeable, kind and funny. The artist drew up the piece and did an incredible job! It was quick and the detail was immaculate - I am in love with it! Now, I make a point of saving my tattoos for Kakapo and go every time I visit Wellington! Great value for money too!!

I came here for my second tattoo and loved it! The staff were super friendly and really made me feel at home. Such a unique and cozy place to be. Awesome artwork around the room! Thank you Hannah for my calligraphy piece, it turned out very nicely. Will absolutely be returning here for any pieces in the future. Lovely people!

First time getting inked at Kakapo Ink, so impressed with the service and quality of the tattoos. I got 2 ugly tattoos (done 10 years ago from a different studio) covered up and am so so happy with the results! Kat is an amazing tattoo artist and made me feel so comfortable. The owners are really friendly, they offer you tea/coffee/water and they make sure you have a good experience. 😊 will post photos once they heal. The studio itself is very hygienic and professional. I came in today for a couple additional details to old tattoos as well as custom back piece. From the begining with Kat, Sally and Andre have been AMAZING. I have walked away with finished ink and a beautiful memorial tattoo for my granddad. I cannot recommend this studio enough. Plus, as a girl who isn't a huge fan of most dogs, I fell in love with the resident dog Mr Pants. He's beautiful!

I’ve been tattooed by Koryn-Leigh in April at kakapo studio and I’m super happy with her work. She is really nice, patient, and understanding. She is a super artist and the studio is really clean and nice. I would recommend both Kakapo and Koryn 100% !! Thanks again for the eye on my wrist, I love it !

All the basics are covered: Clean, light, spacious, safe feeling. On top of that you'll get great artists, knowing what they are doing and and absolutely amazing customer service. From my first approach via Facebook to their care for me when I wasn't feeling to well during the procedure. This was my first tattoo, and I'd go no where else now.

Went in for two flashes with Lura, booked in advance, quite quick for the detail. Two and a half hours including consult time. Wonderful open studio. Lovely dog and cat trotting about which is very cute. Beautiful gallery included 💕💕 will come by again next time I'm in wellington.

Had an awesome and fun experience with Lura at Kakapo Ink. Was for a friend and myself. Book through insta dms and was quick to respond to all questions. Cute cat and dog smooching around and both our tattoos only took 1.5hrs. Also got tea and water while we were there <3 Love. Would go again.
