I've had two Tattoo's here, one from Gill the owner and another from Martin. Both are great to work with and their professionalism was perfect. Both of my Tattoo's from them have had many compliments from people, even being stopped walking around the supermarket! I have absolutely no regrets getting them. I will continue to go back there for my tattoo's going forwards! I recommend them to anyone!

Martin was awesome! Super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. He explained each part of the process and was incredibly patient whilst helping me design exactly what I wanted. I can’t recommend him or this place enough!

I am pleased! This place is awesome. I got my first tattoo and obviously a little bit afraid in the beginning. They took care of me from the first second. I did not have an appointment, but could make one for the same day. I paid 150$ for a word of approximately 6 centimeters for one hour work. It’s clean, looks very tidy and everyone is friendly here. I will definitely come back for my next tattoos here! Thanks guys!

Gill and the team and Tattoo Machine were incredible to work with. After securing a last minute cancellation Gill (quickly) worked with me to create the perfect design based off a description of what I was looking for. Gill is a true artist, working with a lose description and creating something very personal and memorable for me. He’s experienced in his craft and patiently walked me through managing my expectations for my first tattoo. He was honest in the pain-threshold to expect and helped me mentally prepare for the 4hr experience. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Highly recommend Gill and team for your first or next tattoo.

I’ve been getting tattoos by Gill for a few years now. His work is both truly impressive and super consistent. These are qualities you want in your tattoo artist: going to every appointment with complete peace of mind. The studio is beautiful, clean, and very professional. Added to that, you couldn’t ask for a nicer guy, or a friendlier team. Top artists, top venue, totally friendly and professional. Tattoo Machine — every time.

I have been getting Tattooed by Gill for the last 6 years or so and i keep going back as his workman ship is second to none. The premises are spotless and hygiene is awesome which makes me feel really comfortable. Gill and the crew always have some sick yarns to spin and i enjoy the atmosphere. There are plenty of amazing pieces of art work on display to look through too. I always recommend friends and family to Gill and am always getting comments about how awesome my Sleeves are. Must be about time for another session!! Matt

I came to Tattoo Machine last weekend with two friends and we all got matching sentimental tattoos on our ankles. We were looked after by Josh who was super friendly and patient with us. Tattoos look perfect and have healed amazing. Highly reccomend.

I went to tattoo machin in order to make my first tattoo, and I am very satisfied ! My tattoo artist was Spookestuff and he took a lot of time to check with me what I wanted, he made and remade some versions of my originel tattoo on a tablett to get exactly what I want. I really appreciated it, I recommend to go with him for his patience and ampathy !

Amazing experience at Tattoo Machine today. I had the chance to get tattooed by the talented Rhys. I got greeted as I came to the door and was invited to sit waiting for the artist. Rhys arrived on time and had a lot of drawings to show me. He was super friendly! Rhys made sure I was OK during the entire time I was there. The tattoos were done medicoulously. He tattoos softly compare to a lot of artists I've been tattooed by. Really like my experience here, would recommend.

Excellent experience altogether! Came in as a group of five and Ans accommodated all of us politely and patiently. Really peaceful environment and service. I'm thrilled with my tattoo. Ans took a fairly simple flash of line work and elevated it with care and detail to make something really special. Highly recommend.

Best experience here with Gill the other day, he sussed out a rad tattoo for me with the ideas I gave him and even managed to incorporate all the elements I wanted into my half sleeve! Cant wait to come back for another soon! Highly recommend!

Gill and tattoo machine are a friendly and motivated team who are extremely talented at what they do. I had Gill design and tattoo a sleeve for me he was very professional and treated me like his best friend. I would highly recommend any of the tattooist that Gill has selected to work in his shop and still regularly go back to get more work and bounce ideas. I highly recommend Tattoo machine! Primo Tattooists and awesome shop. Professional, Clean and sterile set up. Gill is the man, Wicked artist! He drew up exactly what I wanted off the reference I supplied and created his own original piece. I have been tattooed elsewhere in the past and my experience with Tattoo Machine means I wont be going anywhere else in future. I'm stoked with my sleeve and I'll be back for more!

I have been going to gill at tattoo machine for the past 7 years. I have never had a problem with the standard or lack of soul in my tattoos. Gill and his team are well known in Wellington and even N.Z for there detail and craftsmanship of there tattoos. I am often approached by strangers and complimented of there work and of course my ink. I always feel welcome and at ease that I am in the hands of professional tattooists. Massive 5 star rating for tattoo machine keep up the good work

Thanks Gill. I love the tattoo... wish I'd done it years ago (easy to say in hindsight eh!). You are a talented and passionate artist and I feel privileged to have been tattoo'ed by you. I found the whole process, right from my initial contact with you and to our last session yesterday, professional and friendly at the same time. You said a few times that it took longer than you expected but to me the important thing is the end result which more than met my expectations. I still remember the first couple of times I came to your studio I was nervous as hell as I didn't really know what to expect (even though I'd done a lot of reading about tattooing) but your friendly and relaxed manner quickly put me at ease. Its a great atmosphere at Tattoo Machine and that's a credit to you and the rest of your team for making it that way.

I came to Tattoo Machine on my way through Wellington as I had been recommended it was the place to go in Wellington and I was definitely not dissapointed! Josh did my tattoo and Im so happy with it! Loved the vibe in the studio and hopefully one day will come back!

Had even more work done by Tane at tattoo machine and I cannot recommend him enough! Such clean work and amazing single needle tattoo!!! So much detail. I’ve had several tattoos by Tane and apart from the pain (lol) it’s always been a good experience and his work is hecking amazing! Clean and detailed AF! An awesome studio with fantastic artists. Rhys (he's the one that looks like Jesus) has done most of my tattoos now including a near full blackout on one of my arms due to previous work I wasn't happy with done by another artist. He is very talented in a lot of different styles and all of his work heals beautifully. Highly highly recommend :)

Highly recommend! I got the greatest snake and flower design from Tane, it is SO detailed I always recieve compliments on it! The entire team was very welcoming and professional too. Cant wait to come back!

Just been inked by Gill for the 3rd time. This guy just keeps getting better! He's a talented artist, knows what he's doing incredibly well and is a great dude to spend a day with while he's on the tools. The rest of the crew are good people too - it's a thoroughly professional outfit. I highly recommend these guys.

I first met Gil in early 2014. From the first email to me coming into the studio I was impressed with Gils professionalism and genuine kind approach. Gils approach to tattooing is very methodical and structured which is exactly what i wanted. 6-7 sesions into the mix i have nothing but kind words to say, what a legend! over the years faces have come and go but the studio always held a welcoming atmosphere with quality yarns and music. Hygiene wise the studio is what you would expect of high quality and craftsmanship. As for the quality of work it is impeccable! the cleanest tattooing I have ever seen in my life. There is some amazing artwork displayed throughout the shop can honestly say Gil is doing the tattoo industry justice in wellington!!!. My only regret is not having my other sleeve done by him :( 10/10

Fantastic experience with these guys yesterday! Ans was super professional and so easy to deal with. In and out within in the day when I brought my own design. Clean and friendly place, couldn't recommend more! Will be back for sure.
