Nice airport. Landed in the evening and very quiet. We were the last flight to land for the night. All the shops were closed. Nice light display. Beautiful airport. Neat and tidy.

Well maintained. Does international & domestic flights from the same. No difference locations as at Auckland airport. Food court located in both the floors. Jetstar and Air New Zealand domestic flights and international flights are operating.

A beautiful retirement village. Lovely staff. Very well appointed resthome and villas. Wide corridors. Well sign posted making it easier to find where you're going. Many different things to do at this facility. The gardens are very well manicured making it feel very welcoming. Easy to find a seating area in the shade to sit and admire the plants and trees. If you enjoy plane spotting there are a few places where you can get a good close look or a photo. Enjoy

Great airport. Modern, easy to access everywhere, passport control pero professional and excellent service in the lounge, opening at 4.30am, which is not everywhere so really a good one

We caught the 29 bus from the CBD. About $8 each and took 30 minutes, easy and quick. Currently the airport is near deserted but there are enough food places open with plenty of choices. I finally found cheese rolls which I didn't see in any cafes in our travels around the island. Security staff were very relaxed and friendly and reasonable. A good experience overall. Apr 2022. Flew back in from Auckland and used an Uber to leave the airport. Follow the sign to the Rideshare stand which is on the other side of the pickup place. There were a couple of ubers waiting so it was fast.

Passing through but like what I see. Just one annoyance: I am trying to read the flight departure screen, but it keeps getting interrupted with Covid mask instructions/picture. So much so that I had to take a digital photo of the flight data quick to be able to read it uninterruptedly.

Pretty standard for airports at the moment. You can get coffee once through security domestically. Don't get caught like I did as with the new body scanners I was not allowed to take my coffee from the downstairs cafe through!

Great Airport, main hub for the South Island, electric buses are used as the airport buses, plenty of food and drink options available (more to come once the Covid restrictions are lifted.). Operation Deep Freeze operates from there to Antarctica, with flights to and from the ice. Airport hotel nearby, plenty of parking available, even had sounds of NZ life such as a sheep farm, with baas from sheep, and a farmer and sheep dog calling out.

Large international and domestic airport with flights to numerous destinations. Range of food and shopping outlets on site, rental car companies and telecom providers if coming from offshore. Short and long term parking, bus and shuttle transport options.

Lovely clean well equipped Airport. Staff pleasant n helpful (not like the snarling Auckland staff) plenty of seating and eateries. The airport layout is great inviting didn't have to stand at a wired grid doors like cattle that Auckland has perhaps ChCh could send someone to Auckland n show them how it's done properly. Love to travel throu ChCh thank you in all aspects your a winner and a credit to welcoming tourist into the South Island.

Not bad at all heaps of plugs to charge your electronics still a few food places open but some items are just ridiculous in price I get that it's tough times but dammmmmm still a good airport to chill out in, just make sure you have your music, tablet or phone handy etc or if your like me the Gameboy color 😁

Nice place, does the job well. Airport and Air New Zealand staff were great. Wayfinding is very good but could be a little clearer in some areas

The airport was busy but bags came off flight quickly and we arrived on a brilliantly sunny day. Clean and tidy but didnt take a lot of time inside the building.

Really good airport experience. No being treated like animals. Floor space used for airport amenities useful for passengers (like seats) not given over to shops to extract more money from weary travellers. Flew from the Air NZ domestic lounge. Easy to find, no massive walks. Smoking area just outside. Very clean and tidy generally. Toilets could have been a bit cleaner but most airports are worse. WiFi is fast and free and unlimited. No need to sign up just click a button in your browser and away you go. I downloaded loads of music for the flight in seconds.

Lovely place to visit, even though they have only restored about 50% since the big earthquake. Recommend the Tram trip around Christchurch Central

It's an airport and has all the airporty things an airport needs. It does well at being an airport. Super helpful rental car place too. However the eating options are limited to burger king and one other place(Friday 6pm) make sure you don't count on food when you are here

Very good and comfortable airport. Info center people are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Free, unlimited WiFi, what is quite rare these days. Lot of seating areas and charging points. Many toilets, gift shops and eating areas. If you are heading to city center, take a public transport - it only costs around $8

A truly new airport with convinient transportation and facilities. Staff there are nice and friendly while the airport itself is clean and handy. It has many dining options too when you want to have a quick bite inside. Within 10 minutes walking distance you will get to a small center where more restaurants and Countdown are located. Very pleasant experience there.

Christchurch International Airport is the main airport that serves Christchurch, New Zealand. It is located 12 kilometres to the northwest of the city centre. Very easy to navigate airport. Friendly security people make transit a pleasure. The facilities are clean with plenty on seating for while you wait. Coming or going Christchurch Airport is very safe and friendly Easy to get around, shops and eating places. Parking adequate.

I had a problem with my 'Booked plane✈ ticket🎫' to Gisborne over ANAC long weekend, my emails,from AirNZ were stating that my ticket was invalid and yet my Bank acc ,'said otherwise , So I personally went to the airport, (which is only 15mins away from hme,) anyway? Went to the desk👩‍✈️ and explained my situation, she went buzzing on her Computer💻, mmm mm mm,(she mumbled)mmm oooh?',she looked at me ' all done! Sir..😲we fixed the problem. Me: gosh ! What happened? Lady; Sir you booked thru 3rd party in USA and you still owed $50 something dollars ,' USD' , She explained what I did wrong or I didnt know who I was booking a cheap flight with LOL!! ,I was embarrassed Once I realized it all? I'll do my hmwrk nek txme on cheap ✈ ...I flew 6am the nxt morning.

Great experience, went with my wife, first time in Christchurch, the weather was beautiful, the city is beautiful, Sumner beach was stunning. Went for a walk listening too Manic Street Preachers which will ingrain very good memories. Hanmer Springs and Akaroa just beautiful. Highly recommend to every North Islander go there well worth the money. Mind you my wife payed for most of it lol 😆 my birthday you see.

Very clean, modern airport. Efficient security but the signs for the gates is a bit confusing, so is the division between international and domestic terminals. Designs and sculptures of the airport, combined with the nice blue sky over the airport certainly add substantial values to the overall impression.

As with all airports the outside layout is pretty confusing. Inside it's pretty straightforward. Air NZ check-in and bag drop are fairly quick and efficient unless it's a busy day. Security are likewise pretty quick & efficient unless its a busy day. There's a variety of cafes & shops on the secure side and a good array of seating for waiting passengers, some that even allow you to lay down.

Been working 💪 here at Christchurch international Airport and my experience like never felt before from the Airport staff to the ground handling of AirNZ and PlaneBiz they work shoulder to shoulder 💪 in term of getting there ✈️ out on time 👍

Its during Covid so shops aren't getting the roaring business they usually get. Fast food chips were stale.

Easy layout and plenty of signage so getting around was easy and not stressful which made it a cruisy flight and wasn't busy at all.

Hassle free. Amazing welcome by Maori singers even at 1:30am. Well done Christchurch!

Clean, there is a free call corner to call some hotel. Easy check in. I have a bad experience, lost my camera. My fault, i put on trolley when i enjoy looking around. Oya, the piano is superb.

The first thing I noticed when first arriving at this airport was how different it is than just a few years ago. The area is very clean, open, modern and simple to navigate. I also noticed they have showers in the disabled toliets which is something I've never seen before but very convenient. The only issue I had was with the pricing of the food there is no cheap alternatives unless you were to walk down the road. The small shop on the ground floor near international arrivals charged me $4:20 for a single bic lighter and around $10 for two very small pottles of noodles which I was not very happy about. Other than that my Christchurch airport experience was great I've read some other reviews saying you can not sleep on overnight lay overs however I did see someone sleeping without being interupted I'm not sure if the staff were just being nice off or they have changed the rules but I thought it was worth mentioning 😁

Second biggest airport in New Zealand and beautiful too. This airport have daily flights for Singapore, Dubai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong And most of the big cities of Australia. And also they have very good connectivity to Auckland which might give you more option of international destinations. This place is also known as one of the gateway of Antarctica as this is the nearest airport of Antarctica (6 hrs journey). The attractions point of this airport is the Airbus-380 Emirates flight from Dubai. First time I saw this big giant here. It was too huge and to take photo of it, was a incredible experience for me. There are so many plan spotting points which gives you better angle to shot. I like to go there for plane spotting. Overall, this airport is beautiful and well maintained. Services at airport is upto the mark. So many food corners and shops to get stuffs without taxes. Airport to city is like 20 minutes drive. You can get Uber or ola and other options like metrobuses. Hotal options nearby airport are fine but I will suggest to take room in the city.

Christchurch has a nice International Airport located just 15 minutes from the Town Centre. It is quick and easy to get into/out of city to the airport by way of bus, taxi or car rental. Airport is laid out well and easy to understand. Check-in area is spacious enough for the volume of flights departing at any time. We also found the airport to be clean and tidy. International departure passenger processing was quick and easy, ground staff were polite and the restricted departure area comfortable with many lounging sofas near the gates. Not enough in the form of food options in the departure area, only two choices but that is ok. Wifi was free an fast and we found loads of recharging areas for our electronics. Overall, a better than average experience for awaiting outbound international flights.

I saw a US Military C17 which was cool, the public viewing area is a monumental joke however, it doesn't even face the airport, it's legit behind the terminal, I can't even be angry it's just so absurd.

As a international traveler who has been overseas transiting thru many European & transiting countries over the past 5 months whilst visiting my 8 Yr old daughter in Finland I have been in a few airports. First thing I noticed was the gate numbers were fare to small compared to other workd airports, they need to be tha main directional things for a traveler. Other than that a very modern clean, airport.

The gentleman that helped me with my bags and also what to do before boarding was amazing cos I was afraid I was gonna miss the plane and he calmed me down and was so polite and friendly. I travelled with Air New Zealand and they were amazing.

Quite a big well laid out airport. Split over multi levels. Plenty of parking. Serves both domestic and international flights.

I flew in and out of Christchurch Airport last weekend and overall the experience was a good one. The sticking point for me was the Free Wifi access. Simply put it sucked! Having fast/free Wifi Access in an airport these days is necessity in my opinion, it's not a nice to have, its a MUST have. After struggling to load a 100mb file onto my cellphone for a meeting I was going to have in 30 minutes and the Internet access speed that reminded me of the days of 2.4k dial up modems, I just gave up. I turned on my Cellular providers 4G network on my cellphone (which interestingly was the same ISP as the free WiFi) and within seconds the job was done. I can only put this third world experience down to the configuration and or management of the access to the WiFi network. Obviously someone doesn't know what they are doing. It's a shame really because what should be a welcoming experience to the city of Christchurch is sadly lacking.

Different! Coming into managed isolation through the airport was relatively simple and easy. Much better organized than Auckland Airport.

A small but a decent airport with direct international flights. For now the airport doesn't operate between 10 pm to 6 am. Duty free and tax shopping stores. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. There are rent a car and new SIM card shops available. Hope they improve the infrastructure and keep some waiting area otherwise nice and lovely airport.

Good airport. Easy to get to with several bus routes going there. Easy to find your way around and has coffee culture. ☕

Modern facilities, helpful airline staff to assist with non standard checkin.

Doubles as International & Domestic, the i-SITE Information Centre is great a good selection of eaters like Burger King, Sushi & shops. Customs open a hour before the first International planes departs, so you cannot do your duty free shopping earlier.

Staff a friendly and helpful. If it's your first time coming through arrivals and you want to find the rideshare zone it maybe a little confusing as to where to go. The rideshare zone is on the opposite side or directly across from the main undercover pick up and drop off area. There are signs posted rideshare for you to follow, where you would have to go around the undercover car park to the rideshare zone.

Organized clean and tidy. Airports are such bitter sweet places.

Good layout with food available at both terminals. However on the Monday we were there less than half food stores/cafes were open.

Long wait for next flight but able to walk round and look at shops inside

Small but modern international airport and easy to navigate. Visited during spring and the gardens outside are in full bloom.

Great airport. Have used frequently. Very friendly staff. New airport has a modern design and great feel to it. The people of christchurch are a great community to be involved with (But of course I am bias). I just hope you aren't here to watch rugby, because your team will lose to Canterbury, The Crusaders, or The mighty All Blacks!!

Easy to get around but would be good if there were signs at the domestic terminal advising that buses into Chch were from the international terminal.

Domestic part. Great spaces and variety of seating areas. Food court upstairs with great selection. Once through security only book shop and very small cafe. Unlimited WiFi. PowerPoint to charge phone etc.

Although small, this airport is packed with every facility that a traveler may ever need. Custom clearance is efficient. Checks are thorough but officers and staff are generally helpful, warm and friendly. Kudos to the team!

Usually chill, decent food but don't bother recycling at all goes in the same bin.

We had to wait a few hours here due to radar issues over all new zealand. Long wait but some food, drink and duty free shopping which was handy Definitely better than Adelaide Australia duty free. Maybe a playground for younger kids. But they had a larger size chess set.

Lovely airport, everything is clean and it's very easy to find out where you need to be. The staff are always amazing and super helpful! My only problem is if you are walking to the pick up and drop off area, the smoke from the smoking area if very strong it can even be smelt from the entrance of the airport. Other than that excellent airport to go to!

Just flew back into chch from over seas. Great experience (probably helped that there were very few people on the plane) friendly ground staff, easy navigation, quick transfere to MIQ. Amazing that it was so easy after long flight

Cafe good. Koru Club both regional and domestic. Nice places to wait. Large size can make a walk to regional departures.eg Invercargill and Nelson. Cafes are reasonable in terms of price with good food and coffee. Next to international. Lots of parking and sculpture around. Goos sinage. Clear.

Well sign posted which made navigating to luggage roundabout and rental facilities easy.

Staff are very good at ensuring everyone boarding flights are aware of the rules around keeping everyone safe, and free.kasks are provided for all travellers. Plenty of choices if you are hungry or in need of a coffee (or beer 🍻), clean toilets.

The nicest airport in the country, it’s the gateway to the South Island and absolutely lovely to kill some time in. There are a wide variety of cafes,bars and restaurants here and a few shops aswell. Parking is great and not too expensive. The amenities are always clean and the airport is designed nicely

Immigration is quick and simple. Friendly officer. The airport itself is quite empty, nothing much to buy or do though.

Check in for domestic flight was a breeze, then sought breakfast on first floor. Overpriced and sour tasting poached eggs on ONE slice of toast left wrong impression. Airport staff helpful and friendly and departure on time.

Its a place which i love since I started driving taxi 2018.I always see around neat and clean. Helpful staffs and clean toilets. Easy find places for customers. Personally i would say Christ church airport is one of the best airports in Newzealand.

Creepy on the way out, creepy on the way in. The parking feels like jail looks. The best part was on a plane. 3 stars.

Was busy clean the security is tough ,You should always know what u need not to carry in new Zealand to avoid fines

Lots of good facilities and variety of shops. But....flippin noisey airport. The announcements are horrendously loud and drone on endlessly. The materials used throughout seem to amplify any noise from people moving around. The chairs in the foodcourt were a nightmare. I prefer the quietness of Wellington airport. If you are someone who is sensitive to noise. Bring grade five earmuffs.

Well it’s an airport. Nothing particularly exciting about that. I’ve never had any problems with the place or any of the shops I have had to use whenever I’m passing through there. Standard stuff and fairly easy to find your way round it and out of.

Great space Not too crowded Friendly staff, helpful and efficient, yet showing an interesting people. Lovely coffee and doughnuts. The airport security department is very thorough and professional. I don't think it's necessary to be so deadly serious all the time. A smile can help make people feel a lot more comfortable, but hey, I've watched Border Security on T.V. and their job is quite serious at times, however, not all travelers are crooks, smugglers or terrorists, and some even enjoy meeting you guys and appreciate what you do. I know, I am one of them. Well done Christchurch Airport for keeping the system working in these tough times!

The main gateway to explore the south of New Zealand although the heart of Christchurch isn't as lively as you expect. There are car rentals available here at your disposal. Collecting the car is easy, but returning the car may be a bit of a hassle due to many types of carparks available there (Hourly Parking, Short Stay, Long Stay and rental cars). One wrong turn and you may end up at the wrong carpark. Also, WiFi is free and unlimited for all to use.

Passed through early hours of morning from Australia. Duty Free was open

Well...who likes sitting in an airport lounge for an hour or so... surrounded by people but no one to talk to... Blah blah blah...anyway... it's actually a clean and pleasant airport... snacks are over priced but that's normal. Plenty of room to sit and stretch or walk around if bored.

Came to pick my girlfriend today and we both were looking for a restroom, then we met this lovely lady Gimhani ,even though she is not belongs to Airport information service(there was no one in the desk) she helped us to find it. And also then she helped us to exchange our leftover money from Australia. Gimhani from Travelex is helpful and professional too.

Good location, easy assessable from Christchurch City, pick-dropoff available. Taxi stand just outside arrival gate. Separate Uber stand at the airport. You can also take a small wall and access to spitfire square , where eating joints, pharmacy, cafe and supermarket

Very long process thru customs having paperwork checked numerous times

I was parked near the airport, I didn't actually go into the airport.

Extremely helpful, kind assistance from the NZ guard soldiers who were escorting us to our isolation facility! Can't say enough about how pleasant an experience that was. 😊 Sorry about my massive 6 suitcases as I relocate!

Great facility Easy parking although expensive. Great variety of shops. Restrooms and casual seating. Very clean and maintained. Lots to see and do

The airport is good.. easy to navigate.. good food options.. some other shops.. plenty of room and many power points and free wifi. The security though is tedious.. they have relatively new xray machines that are very picky about what they let through. I carry spare camera batteries (which is allowed) but every time in Christchurch, they are pinged by security.. so have to get the bag searched.. just tedious for an object that is allowed and is not pinged in any other airport.

This is my favourite airport in the world. Its perfectly designed to manage the gradual flow of passengers, and with room to expand as this airport gets bigger. The regional lounge is really cool, as is the domestic lounge, both with a lot of plant life and interesting architecture. The business park is nearby and all Is very modern and fresh

Masks and social distancing a must and good to see all complying. Staff as helpful and friendly as always. 5 stars.

Great, clean, and easy to navigate place. However, Men's toilets has pee everywhere, it was busy and lost of children about, so understandable (unfortunately seen worst)

Very nice and big. Beautiful infrastructure.

Things have changed a bit under covid. But there are plenty of extra staff available to make it work. The koru lounge is still offering great food and drink. All the staff are nice about supplying masks before you go out to the plane. Just be aware that a lot of the normal entrances are closed so entry and exit doors near domestic gates 1-10 are closed and door 5 is for entry. If you have a lot of bags or kids to control, ask to be dropped off at the taxi pick up rank, not the taxi drop off rank.

Needless to say "quiet", shame for the business's that work from there & they must be well down on the short term parking profits - such a shame that those charges are so high - not really an incentive for folk to hang around.

The airport staff were friendly enough but probably stressed due to frequent flight changes etc. Adequate facilities and seating.

Beautiful place to watch some international planes leave in our bubble with oz. The people who served us afternoon tea were very good. Everything we ordered was hot.

Bright airy and clean, with no international travel movement, the Airport feels very spacious. Coffee outlets available on both levels, sadly most other food providers are still closed. As a regional hub easy to navigate.

The traffic blew our minds. But the way Christchurch has bounced back after the earthquakes is awesome. Casino was welcoming and friendly, as was the top 10 holiday park.

Was impressed how on this flight it was like time quickly flew by too.

Neat, hygienic and on par with the current COVID-19 security requirements. UPDATE: Parking payment system needs to improve. My card couldn't be scanned, wasted 10minutes trying and when I came back with another card, parking fee went from $4 to $7. Customer help did try to help me out but the machine was being stubborn. Disappointing.

Probably one of the cleanest airports I have been to and loved the new upgrades since we were last here! Plenty of food/beverage options and loved the charging ports and bean bags as well. We look forward to flying down south again soon!

Bright and clean with good clear signage to help find your way around. Not as crowded or noisy as other main airports. Parking can be hectic at times in the drop off area but there is plenty of good parking space available for a fee. Has a nice relaxed atmosphere compared to other airports and only a short distance to the city.

Very clean but couldn't find areas for landing for specific flights. Not enough clear signage. Eventually after asking many people found correct area.

Best airport I’ve been to in New Zealand. Plenty of charging ports for both phones and laptops. Great sanitary facilities and ample space for lounging/relaxing before your flight.

Nice clean and efficient .good range of shops and places to eat and drink . A very attractive airport I particularly liked the coloured lighting in the walkways and on the buildings

Christchurch airport is the slickest in the country. Check in is super easy and now security has special improvements to improve efficiency getting more passengers through more quickly. Not the range of eateries that Auckland has, but not a bad selection.

A good airport reasonably recently upgraded and refurbished. Always had a good experience here other than one time going to the wrong gate. Good layout and staff have been friendly.

Feels relaxed and if this airport has a lot of passengers, it sure does hide it well. International arrival was well organized and efficient. Impressed with it. Food options on the upper level. Neat layout. Baggage and transportation labeled well. Solid all around.

Easy to pick up an drop off. Good access for longer parking with $8 holiday all day fee. Security isn't too bad in the pick up drop off zone either 😉

Post covid ghost town feel. Only about 3 food places to eat. Airport itself is pretty good. Easy check in. Helpful staff and plenty of places to hang out.

They have done a great job of modernizing this airport. It is great to see that some banks of seats have been put by the international arrivals door!

Police officer directing traffic saw me wave to a short yellow U.S. schoolbus loaded with bearded men wearing wool bushjackets. They rushed to my side, waved in return. The bus dipped from their sudden weight-shift. "Gosh," I addressed the officer, "they sure are friendly." "They bean on the eece six months in Aunt Ah-ti-cah, they'll wave at eenything thet moves!" And who could forget the TE 737 with the giant cowboy hat introducing Air New Zealand's Dallas, Texas route? Yippie hi yo, kiwi yay!

Enjoyable lunch frm Wishbone whilst in transit.

It’s better than AKL by far but overall need for amenities but it’s a good airport love going there and I hope I can do it more again love the place the staff and the overall layout of the place but like I just said needs more amenities. This photo wouldn’t taken without the amazing effort the staff put in to get the airport running so travellers can do things like take photographic pictures of trees so best airport south of the equator.

Great airport with adequate facilities. The loop system for drop off/pick up is great. There could be a bit more signage for gate numbers and other things, but it’s ok once you’ve been here a couple of times.

Always busy, but easy access to check in and fast through security. We walked from our uncovered carpark straight to security and boarded our plane (no checked luggage and checked in online) in about 20 mins 🙂

Efficient pleasant staff, good signage.

They have been working on making this airport world class specially after the earthquakes, hence some of the inconvenience we have experienced this past few weeks. The second floor has been fully refurbished and I can say that it is very nice. It has most if not all of the shops a traveler can ask for. I don't like the chairs in the domestic area though. I am not so sure what the thought process was when they designed this area.

Pretty well laid out as airports go, plenty of nearby parking and the international terminal has all the usual amenities. Expect delays if more than 2 international flights land around the same time. PS. There is a viewing deck that caters for smokers in the departure lounge, a facility that most Australian airports don't have.

Upstairs area is fine. A few shops and cafes to chose from and clean bathrooms. Also a seating area with couches and plugs but only till 930pm. However a nightmare if you have a 630am flight or a stopover which is a little longer. There is only one seating area assigned where you can wait. And by wait I mean sit and wait in a metal chair next to a construction side. Sleeping is not permitted. I mean rules are rules but those rules are just unreasonable. Had to ask 3 different staff member where to hang out as non of the airport security I approached really knew the operating hours. So probably an average airport if you fly midday - evening but not good for early mornings or late nights. OR if you have enough money to book into one of the airport hotels.

Still the best airport I've visited. A good size, but with all amenities. Covid protocols in place, people can be 2 meters apart. Most shops still open.

A great family atmosphere, with fantastic food, awesome barstaff and pretty entertaining location 😀

Well designed airport. Efficient processing. Possibly the best in NZ. It only lacks views for visitors. You only really get views of what's happening on the tarmac once you are through security - unless you go down stairs to regional.

Quite deserted sadly, with many shops closed. A lot of the food shops still open, but not enough passengers to provide enough business. I hope the world opens up for NZ real soon.

Awesome airport, not crowded unlike Sydney airport! There are a lot of comfy couches scattered all across the boarding gates making an early morning flight more bearable. It's also got a huge chess board in there - a perfect way to kill time while waiting for boarding.

Beautiful airport, just don’t expect to get value for money for something to eat or drink. Over priced and tiny portions or food coming cold. Common thread with all places tried. Thank goodness for Burger King - not ideal but hey? Wish they had kept viewing platform

Pax arriving early to check in for international connection with 3month baby locked out until 4.30 am in the cold They arrived early with luggage to shift overseas. When booking should be told the airport building won't be open until 4.30AM A lady staff member WAS found and kindly let them in Geoff, their GBT cab driver

Christchurch airport was great! No problems checking in. A restful wait before boarding back to Tauranga.

I was flying with my elderly Mum from Christchurch airport late last month. Mum had a "turn" going through Customs. Everybody we dealt with from that moment were extraordinary. Helpful, generous and compassionate. Thanks to Customs, Fire and Rescue, St John and Air New Zealand. I'll be thanking individuals separately but the team at Christchurch airport is Great!!

Spread out not cramped like Wellington Airport. Friendly staff and services. Good coffee food is expensive but then again airport food is at times. Clean toilets. Lots of signs to help you.

Friendly people. Extremely good help desk assistance. I love the chessboard , good time killer. Healthy Habits provided me fresh food and smooth. They made everything in front of me. Far better than Auckland and Changi airport. Very welcoming.

Its a beauty place to pick up or leaving always tidy and super clean inside and out gardens look awesome too.

Great airport and facilities.

Well laid out domestic terminal. Currently quiet post pandemic.

Doesn't matter where you go in it, the coffee is absolutely terrible and all the food is overpriced - sets a great first impression for our overseas visitors! On the other hand though, the building is nice and the facilities are nicely done. Layout is pretty easy and signed well.

Plane refuelled and departed for Queenstown really quickly

Clean facility but they don't enforce the drop off and pick up no waiting rule showing a lack of care from the staff. You could park your car there for 30 minutes and they wouldn't care.

Great airport with lots of space and a fantastic outdoor area. The terminal (both domestic and international) is easy to navigate and is not cluttered, unlike other airports in the world. The staff are friendly and the terminal offers a fantastic view of the mountains range, sometimes covered with snow. The airport is about 20 minutes from the city - cheaper by the suburban 'Metro Bus' located at the end of the international arrival terminal.

The airport is great but I'm tired of the cafe through security. WARNING if you want to eat or drink don't go through security. There is only one tiny cafe that never has any food.

Inside is very modern but they need better signage for where to go for rideshare pickup. Sign sent me to the wrong place and only found the correct location after asking a parking person

Well run airport, way more functional than Auckland domestic which is a complete disaster. Bags are on baggage corousel immediately, after you hop off plane. Lush plants and cool seating areas too.

In A Nutshell: -Christchurch International Airport is a very nicely laid-out airport on the South Island of New Zealand. -Customs was a breeze, especially when you have a U.S. passport. -Keep in mind however, that you will be filling out immigration paperwork and don't be surprised to see many more questions than usual due to the heightened restrictions on importing non-native food and plants products. -New Zealand is hyper-vigilant in what is allowed into the country (with excellent reason to maintain it's pristine & beautiful environment) -The baggage claim area is very clean and easy to navigate. Overall, this is a nice airport to fly into.

Airport was very clean and had comfortable seating upon our departure. Very limited food options are available so plan to eat before you arrive! They do have free Wi-Fi which is quite handy especially when you need to kill some time! Very easy to hop a bus or hire a car from outside the airport.

Prefer the airport at Chch than Auckland, despite the size difference. Better layout, more user friendly.

walk on air nz non jet terminal seems excessive and could probably be improved by better utilisation of the gates but that aside it works and the wait for bags was minimal. overall it works

Nice little airport even though bit busy. Not enough food stalls and the Berger King in the airport is the worst of all. Airport is nice and clean with easy access to taxies and rental cars. Also have a nice walkway to vehicle area from airport. Liked the service too

Had a long halt when I was travelling to Singapore. You have good cafe options and even a Burger King inside the airport. Parts of the airport do get closed at night so sleeping at the airport isn't the most convenient option if you have a long halt. However there is a premium hotel right outside the airport opposite to the ATC Tower.

I have not yet had a bad experience flying Air New Zealand, long let that stay the same

Convenient, smooth-flowing airport. Customs moved efficiently. Although our flights here were international, I was especially impressed at the ease of the check-in and boarding process for domestic flights.

I'm slightly biased being a Christchurcher but having travelled extensively overseas as well as experienced the nightmare of our countries main airport, Auckland Airport - the Christchurch International Airport does a pretty great job! I've always breezed through customs and the pick-up area. Not to mention, when waiting at your gate for boarding you can almost always find a spare charging spot which is a rarity. All round this is a clean, well-presented and easy to navigate airport.

Adequate but hollow. Lacks anything that would tie it to Christchurch proper or create emotional connection. It is an effective business but an unimaginative port of entry to both New Zealand and one of it's most populous cities. Get creative, get artistic, get natural with the decor. Remind travellers from around the world that Christchurch is the Garden City, Aotearoa, not just NZ Major Economic Center 3

Relaxing 3 hour stopover. Plenty of comfortable seating areas. Clean rest rooms well signposted.

We were a bit scared to travel during Covid year, but I have more confidence now. There are hand sanitisers and QR codes everywhere. People are generally kind and play by the rules.

Friendly staff who helped with any problems checking in, decent food choices. The corridor that led to the plane we were boarding had its walls and roof themed with space and the universe, which probably would have made queueing up to board more interesting but we didn't have a queue for our flight.

It's very small and easy to navigate. Free wifi, clean and new and nice. The bags came out quickly. The bathrooms were clean. It has the usual array of rental car companies serving it. They got us off the plane quickly. It's a beautiful airport to fly into, especially during sunset. It's inly served by a few domestic carriers; I suppose there must be some international travel, given the name, but it really is quite little. I didn't look extensively, but I didn't see much right around it. It's served by car rental companies, but the one I used was off-site, and shuttles stopped at 6pm, so after my flight was pushed back, my arrival and car pickup were pretty tight. There was a courtesy phone for calling local businesses, and we used that to call the rental car company.

Nice and clean facilities. Sad to see so many closed shops - hope it's only temporary until travel restrictions ease again.

Extremely well designed, easy flowing except elevator is too far from the check in counters for disabled passengers.

Security were rude and obnoxious. Koru was perfect and relaxing, premium check in friendly and efficient.

We were very disappointed with the food and they dont offer an airport pick up drop off service. Our room was great. The bed was HUGE. The room servicing was excellent. The staff were all friendly.

Pretty small airport, but it's very nice. The vodaphone people were very friendly and easy to work with. The shops here are somewhat cool, but better at other NZ airports.

Have flown in and out of this airport many times. Each time they seem to have done upgrades or improvements. Easy to find your way around with enough shops and cafes to keep you busy until your flight.

Great place to go if you are looking to fly. A little tricky at the moment though. Choose wisely with parking to get the best value.

Beautiful gardens, nice and spacious and clean. Easy airport to fly in and out of. The toilets on the second floor need to be made bigger though.

Great airport but beware of the self flushing toilets, lean forward too far and Whammy they go off and splash your bottom with gross toilet water - not the pre-flight experience you want... trust me

I used domestic area, it was easy to get there and enough drop off car park, the staff there were nice and friendly. Bathroom and shops were close from waiting area. Seats were nice too.

Great duty free shopping

After a 5 hour drive, we just wanted a breakfast that didn’t comprise melted cheese or sugar. In a depressing Turkish Prison style constant lapping of the food court looking for something different, I realised that over half the food on offer from the 8 retailers was from the same supplier. If you want melted cheese or a muffin, this is nirvana. The airport is nice by the way.

Nice accommodations. Great service all around and hassel free. Nice spot to visit, welcoming and pleasant to be at before asending 36 thousand feet.

You won't need as much time going through immigration and security as there is a lot less people going through Christchurch airport. Very clean and has a great design to it. However more shops would be preferred.

Staff at airport lovely and certainly nothing challenging internally. Small international flight lounge - domestic flight lounge better. And this has to be the only large airport where UBER cannot operate from or to the airport! 😱. Long walk necessary before Uber can be caught. Better off to skip Christchurch and do your flights into Wellington and then fly to a smaller South Island one.

Seems life a decent place

Today I went to airport to pick up a client..we usually are out at Airport about twice a week..our job is to pick up the people Australia is deporting. Today carpark was listed as full.lovely young man on the barrier asked us how long we staying etc.i explained our purpose.he said we could park in another area and he would let it be free. We needed a special ticket he said he would find our car after I gave him the rego number and he said he would put it under wipers. After getting our client we came out to find an envelope with ticket and a wee bag of wine gums aeroplanes under wipers. Our client was amazed at the friendliness of a parking attendant at a big airport. And it made his welcome home even more sweeter (excuse the pun) thank you to the young man ..and Chch airport for hiring great staff..

Pleasant airport, easy to navigate. Both a small and large airport at the same time, and in a good way. Handles many small planes on regional flights, as well as the huge A380 to Dubai.

This is one of New Zealand's most visually appealing airports from the outside. Inside is modern and minimalistic. The upstairs has a great food court and shops. The airport is broken up into three divisions which can complicate your internal travelling so be sure to check if your flight is considered a regional flight on a propelled plan versus a jet. It's a long hike either way if you get it wrong.

I thought Christchurch airport was awesome till I just read the paper. They are not allowing people to stay in the airport over night!!!! I could not find a motel at 5 pm to stay in never mind 1am. How ridiculous. Has any thought been put into this I wonder.

Very clean and nice . However , as we left our luggage to be stored for the night, we came collecting the next day and the staff that we called wasn’t too happy about it. It’s only 8pm . But all the shops are closed . I supposed he’s going home too.

Departure from plane was smooth, getting to our bags was quick, good signs. Lots of room to move around.

Wow they have publicly available showers in this airport! One inside the disabled bathroom before check-in, and one inside the bathroom near gate 25 (with multiple stalls).

Pretty nice airport. Plenty of seating, free wifi (did drop out quite a bit near gate 27 though), and power outlets. Made the 2 hour wait a breeze.

This airport is nicely set out with all the amenities you need. Enjoy waiting for my flight while working on my computer

Is a clean and pretty comfy airport. Could use a maccas or a krispy kreme but otherwise has everything you'd expect from an airport.

Very well laid out, easy directions board, clear and very visible convince stores with pretty reasonable prices.

Free unlimited WiFi. Clean and well maintained spaces. Not too crowded and plenty of seats to chill out while waiting for your flight.

No food court open , stock up before you get to airport

Nice airport, fast baggage collection, clean and the tourist information centre located just at the centre of the airport. There is a few cafes if you needed some food/drinks.

Great staff. Custom clearance was thorough but combined with pleasant talk about the country and the people. Gateway from plane is jungle like with sounds, very neat.

Very good airport with facilities (free high-speed internet, charing stations, all kind of restaurants). If you have time to kill, have a look to the International Antarctic Centre, a very fun and informative museum nearby

Love Christchurch Airport, I noticed that there is a bicycle assembly area with pumps and equipment for assembly.

Stunning and beautiful ambience. Most amazing is the fact that floor Carpets in the departure lounge are designed as Bird's eye view of Canterbury meadows. Nowhere seen so far. Kudos to planners.

A great introduction to the beautiful kingdom of New Zealand 🇳🇿. The food was good, but my jet lag caused me to fall asleep in my burrito, more could’ve been done to prevent my jet lag, so i will only be giving a four star as they should’ve stopped me from having jet lag.

I went to the airport this morning and there was so much traffic it took ages just to pick up a family member, glad to get away from the place.

Nice arrival. By cons we arrived in the middle of the earthquake in Christchurch. The hotel we had booked no longer exists as most. Almost all the city center has been demolished.

Plane was on time. Terminus was clean n tidy.

Security quick to get through. Thorough. Quite clean as were the bathrooms. Smoking areas outside and through customs upstairs at boarding gates.

Thanks to the Airport Services Office (and to Laura B.) for taking care of the item I forgot past security over the weekend.

Staff service is good except for one incident. Quick bag drop off. Various affordable food and things to buy in the shops

I like this airport but like most nz airports in nz there is no where that i can to charge phones, tablets or laptops. I believe there should be charging ports in cafes and lounges in all airports.

Its just wonderful. All I advice to tourists/visitors/others is that to declare the food items. The staff is friendly and will tell you - if you are allowed to take the stuff inside the country or not.

This is the best airport in NZ 👍. Better than Auckland Airport ✈ where you need to walk between the domestic and international terminals whilst Christchurch airport ✈ has both terminals under one roof.

They have put in new phone charging outlets, stylish. Bars are sensibly placed, and they have quaint New Zealand overhead announcements.

It's a great place for national and international flights. Lots of place to roam around but maybe add some decor like Singapore airport?
