Reviews of Wellington Cable Car
B.Quick and comfortable, less than 5 minute wait for the tram each time. Cheap if you have a Snapper card, even without the price is reasonable. Gorgeous views both from the tram and from the station at the top. Lovely sightseeing place, with easy access to the Botanical Gardens from the top.
C.Pretty good ride... Calm and the lights do give an eyegasm... It has a good connection between old and new tech... Definitely worth going... The staff was super nice and friendly.
R.this was a really cool experience:)) there were pretty tunnels with pretty lights which were really fun to look at. its also quite a unique experience since it is sort of like a mix of a bus and a train and we go through areas with houses and stuff so it felt like it was from a tv show or something. at the top, there is also a really nice view

A.Updated price list Dec 27 2021,nice little cable car ride up the hill every 10mins..glorious lookouts..botanical gardens to wonder, nice little eatery when you reach the top. Toilets avail, Gelato icecream and waffles, cable car museum to browse. Lots of lookouts and great spots to take pics.
D.It's awesome to see such a historic mode of transport that is still functional in Wellington. Truly a unique experience. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the panoramic views of Wellington. Before you head back down, make sure to visit the Cable Car Museum, which provides a history of the city's symbolic mode of transport and see the original cars and winding machinery on display. No entrance fee is imposed. It's FREE! A must-do if you want to experience Wellington.
T.Good fun for the kids. But $9 one way is really expensive, as the trip is only like 2 minutes. However, they have multiple deals like $32 for 10 trips.
What's bad is that we booked 2 extra tickets accidentally online and their policy doesn't allow refund.
M.A nice short ride up to the botanical gardens. Some really nice views, especially if the weather is clear.
j.Super efficient, not too expensive either, especially if you’re a student. Clean and tidy and staff were friendly.
The cafe at the top was lovely with a great brunch selection.
The ‘30 minute walk’ at the top however I would not recommend. It is essentially down and then right back up - there are much nicer walks around Wellington to do.
H.Must do if visiting Wellington, ride itself is short better way up than down as way up lies beautiful scenery and can use the energy to climb down via the botanical garden .. beautiful walk altogether! Great view point upstairs and small cable car museum!
